Well I kind of figured the day would come. My PVI was performed in February 2014, I almost made a two year run. Have enjoyed playing music and other activities. I almost forgot that panic feeling and was learning to feel at peace again. I am 30 minutes into an episode and can't break it. With one punch it has reversed my hope and love for life. I had a few bumps and hits here and there but nby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
mntbikerlady i always had some throat sensations at times. I agree with apache on the proximity of evthing in the area. Aft my last ablation I was in afib, tach, palps for a while It slowly began to taper at about 8 weeks and was much better by 12 weeks, so just give some time and dont over do it. timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I also get them like a cluster of pac's, it feels like a buzz almost in my heart sometimes. I just ignore it even tho at times it catches me off-guard. I think ultimately it is afib but just not sustained.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I drink beers. Seems to be OK I counter them with a LS V8. You can prob get .5% alcohol from ripe fruit or sauer kraut, Geez we have to have some enjoyment in life! So eat that ripe peach and drink a beer occasionally, It will all be OK. actually my EP has suggested to me if you are going to drink in moderation, you should do so more often than not. Your system gets somewhat used to the alcby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Metoprolol can help reduce pac's at times which in turn can trigger afib. So in a round-about-way I am under the impression that it may assist in reducing episodes if they are triggered by certain pac's. ????? If I were you I would reduce down to 1/2 tablet Thats what I did a year ago.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Anne, I am in KY and I have talked with Dr. Mandrola in Louisville. He is really an awesome doc with some different approaches. to his credit he actually experienced a lone (??) episode of afib, so he is very understanding. I think just talking to different docs can help. Just gives you a bigger picture. My doctor is in Lexington, KY (Dr. Tomassoni) he is very talented and has helped me aby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I use Swanson's Albion Chelated Magnesium Glycinate Is this not a good form?? I have had luck with this a LSV8 ev dayby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I think obviously we all want to be in the best hands. However, there are many good EP's. a good EP is not going in and burning every flippin spot they might suspect and without evidence. (I hope NO EP is doing that). So it is not a matter of some mad hatter in there burning the hell outta stuff and scarring everything and ruining the inside of your heart. A good doctor is cautious. Ken Sorry for your return. You will get it worked out. We have one of the best centers (well kept secret) here in Lexington. Dr. Tomassoni at Central Baptist is a Natale study, very experienced. The technology here is top notch. Just throwing that out there. Timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a herniated cervical disc in my neck and must use ibuprofen. Will Ibuprofen interfere with anything?by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am now 18 months post ablation. Doing well. Still have some episodes but they subside quickly. I have religiously taken advice and stick with Low Sod V8 daily (about 24 oz) and magnesium powder to tolerance. This protocol has reduced my ectopics, flutter, etc. Without a doubt it helps. With all of the research and everyone's experiences and reporting here, several questions remainby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
My procedures have been 8, 7, 7, 6 and 4 hours. Just depends not only on complexity but the success of initiating the problem areas. I wouldnt worry about being under. Its peaceful sleep. It is possible the procedure may help pre atrial contractions. PACs. timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
OK so now we are all afraid of Flecainide!! These drugs are dangerous. I have recently (1 yr post ablation) reduced my Flec to once a day. I cant believe the difference so far in my body. I pretty much have to have it also in some dose to dilute my pac's I get that drive me crazy (and that kick start some afib). Anyway all of that breathlessness and fatigue I thought was caused by my heby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I would do the same thing (exact same trigger) before my last ablation. I found myself getting up in stages in the morning. like slowly lift my head than swivel around my feet towards floor; then lift up at waist; then put feet on floor etc. and so on. Its carazy!!!! I always fealt like maybe there was inflammation or something going on around my heart?? Something would cause periods like this.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
This is an excellent article in that we are masking and curing the symptoms not the cause! Unfortunately myself included I can not function with that afib burden and I needed help. It didnt matter how I got here.....Im HERE! I think the "genetic" factor is real in a lot of us. For whatever reason we were going to get afib. Chronic Fitness - Im in great shape even now as a 53 yr oldby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ablation doesnt "cure" anything. Basically you could view your heart muscle as a water dam. The electric signal should only be let out through one location (the spillway). In afib, water is trying to spurt out / leak out in different locations. All ablation does is block those locations, same as sealing leaks in a dam. They may break open again at any time and there may be new leaks emby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Ron for the info. Ill try the almonds. Yes it is confusing ALL of it. Its like you can fix one problem but you def gonna cause another.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank all of you all yes this is interesting. I just had a typical blood test for everything under the sun iron, calc, mag, thyroid etc. The only comment was my mag level and HDL/LDL high. Overall Cholesterol was 275 He just commented my magnesium was 2.1 with the high end scale being 2.0 I am sorry all I know is they took tubes of blood out of my arm. I actually found a different heart / choby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been taking my Albion Mag powder. Lately had a blood test. My blood magnesium is 2.1 The doc is saying high end should be 2.0 max. I know cellular and blood are different measurements. He wants me to back off 25% on what I am taking. Is this reasonable advice. Also since my last ablation (feels like confession), I have been eating almost no fast food and get lunch at a country diner evby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just looking for suggestions. Today while walking stairs I did the same thing as the other day. Little bump in the chest and became short of breath and maybe harder heart beat (became aware of it). My pulse again stayed regular and slow approx 55 I went and checked it in our first aid and my blood pressure was high 160/94 with 55 pulse. The sensation stopped as quick as it started after abouby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
The procedure is nothing especially compared to dealing with the afib and all that is related. Dont sweat it! seriouslyby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks JAckie. I am going tommorrow to have blood work tomorrow so I will have that checked. I did take a half a xanax the night before because I couldnt sleep. That makes me foggy in the am plus the fact that I couldnt sleep. During all that my pulse rate was low. today I listened to my pulse rate with my Oregon chest strap (which I love). I walked stairs at work. Did my lunchtime weight lby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Mike Thank You George Weird had to strips ran, one at 10:30 one at 1:30 both they say are NSR. But I feel my heart is not beating correct. Been thru this enough to know......but maybe Im going crazy. Around 2:30 went back to feeling normal again ??? I have been taking about 700 to 800 mg of Mag a day and when it started just had a banana with 12 oz low sod V8 Could I be ODby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well I guess my luck ran out 1 yr almost a month since my ablation. Im in some weird ryth! Can anyone tell me how to post my ryth strip? I have a pic but see no attachment adder. I cant get hold of my EP. I think its Afib, but my pulse is very regular and slow?????? I used to always be fast, my pulse is only like 55. the EMS guy said this didnt look that abnormal but I can feel something weirdby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Nancy, Been there....done that. The flutter is a huge nuicance and yes feels uncomfortable. I have adenosine quite a few times. at first it worked then a couple of occassions it did not. Got to the point my doc would give me something as they did you to lower the heart rate and make it comfortable and send me home. It would usually convert after a while. He never acted as tho it was a realby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
My thought is they are finding it to be safer and safer. I have taken it for years. I have had ER docs on phone tell me to pop one at times and they really didnt know all about me. I think its relatively safe as long as you have done the first time under a doc observation. It does cause me another problem tho. It causes LBBB. the higher the dose the lower my heart has to be to go into LBBB.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
MY extra PAcs or PvCs, weird ectopic or whatever the hell they are occassionally does give me a pain in the chest. I also have left arm pain occasionally. I just try and get over it. With Flecainide when I get my heart rate up to around 130 I get a very sharp pain at the onset of LBBB. MY EP acted like this didnt make sense but I did show him case studies of that being a condition and convincedby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Travis I lifted weights and did daily activities with no side effects, no problem if I did cut myself a little. I was on Eliquis pre and post ablation. It is perfectly fine. Im off it now Timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
ajr1960 I will think of you as all of us battle thru. I hope at some point and time they can come up with some new technology and just zap this stuff for good! or a drug! You and I are about the same age, so we are still way too young to feel this old (at times)!! Timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
