Thank you nancy I will also pray for you. I hope we all can find peace!by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon and if that Tomassoni video you view this week at your conference is male and 52 years old. It's me! Have fun and thanks for the support Timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Dirk, I'm on same dose flecainide past eight yrs. my definition of success is it reduces number of episodes and at some point terminates episodes so I do not have to go hospital (1 to 24 hours) on flec I still have episodes maybe once a month average lasting 4-5 hours, recently they increased to once a week. I'm not happy with that. At beginning I started with two a year, then fiveby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well the time is at hand. Did all my pre testing today. Ablation at 9 am in morning! Off flecainide since last Wednesday with o episodes and actually performed chores etc with better feeling as the flec side effect for me is LBBB at low rate. My transmission on car went out coming back from hospital and a couple other negative things so I find myself wondering if someone is trying to tell me soby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Awesome Shannon thanks so much. Actually that may be my case! I have a complexity of challenges as I am finding now most of us do!by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
My Ablation is scheduled for tuesday and I stopped my flecainide wednesday. I am already having a few bumps here and there. I am afraid for this weekend what if I go into afib? Did the flecainide keep my afib rate down? Not sure what it will feel like while not on the medication. Will my rate be tolerable? I cant take a pill so if I have an episode do I just sit at home and hope for the best, wby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon, I'll keep you posted. So the progression of tachy or flutter to Afib, does that mean if you kill the afib those show back up? or did it morph into Afib and you kill the afib and its all hopefully dead? I guess Im not sure of the exact progression or mechanics of all this.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon and McHale Shannon is correct. dr. Tomassoni does both, the PVAI after we give the Topera and a new improved basket catheter a try. We are planning on starting the left atrium and then coming back inside the right (where I originally had problems before) to touch up any flutter or tachy that might be lurking over there. I have had an ablation with Natale in the past (for persisteby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks randy, I'll try. Hope you are doing well !by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well I got the call this morning my ablation for Afib is Feb. 25!!!!! I am afraid Am I overthinking this thing? I'm just afraid of making things worse! Central Baptist, Lexington, KY Dr. Gery Tomassoni. We will use Topera new study basket cath This is my first left side ablation for Paroxymal Afib What if I go into constant afib when I stop my flecainide 5 days prior?? Justby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
After reading several responses on this site. I started drinking low sodium V8 2X daily about two weeks ago. Oddly enough my palps and afib episodes have lessened noticeably. I had one afib episode that was much shorter duration than normal. Maybe coincidence? I dont have a clue but I feel a little better about it. I know the V8 is high in potassium. What would be a good form of supplement maby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
GeorgeN Yes I have been counciled by my dentist on this device. I have Aetna insurance and they sent a letter saying I had been reviewed and approved for the device but my dentist says they will deny payment once the invoice actually is issued. This means I would be stuck with the two thousand dollar payment. I just wonder if the cardiac docs would support with a letter or something indicatingby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
very interesting, so there may be a trigger like a physical location relative to whatever is going on with the apnea indicating the area and it is ablated. Or I guess it may indicate an area in the heart for triggers?by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks good to know I am not imagining it.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I find this very interesting and it seems to me diet etc play a large part in all this. My question to everyone is this: If magnesium and potassium, nutrients, sodium all can alter afib possibly subdue episodes and maybe in some cases put it in hibernation why can you not get EP's and cardiologists etc on board with that? I have never been told by an EP, "hey try these supplements; yoby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Smackman, yeah you would think there would be a better fix for apnea. the mask etc is very inconvenient. Once I woke up tinking I was wrestling my boss and had the hose up in the air thinking it was his arm. My ablation is in Feb!by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have apnea and was ordered a CPAP. I used it for a while but found it difficult to use. I realize through different information available everyone says it is very important to stay with the therapy to avoid afib triggers from poor breathing during sleep. Problem is I feel the pressure actually triggers small episodes. I can almost immediately feel some palps when my breathing and the pressureby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Lynn, we have more than afib in common, im 52 also. I would be really careful with the diagnosis. I mean any extended time in faster rhythms cause some enlargement but I don't think it's permanent. I think we recover from that unless it's very persistent.......I hope we do. I think you are okby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Fifteen years ago they laughed at me when my episodes started and I told them it was directly related to my digestion. Now ep's will tell you it can have a lot to do with digestion, upset stomach etc. laying on your left side can trigger rhythm junk, it's not in my head I can prove it!by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, thanks for reply it is a godsend. Just having help and comment from someone who has experienced this stuff helps so much. I initially (2002) had svt ablation in lexington, ky. Then after a while it came back with vengeance. Tomassoni sent me to see Natale in Cleveland and he killed it for a while and then it came back and just seemed to start multiplying. So then I'm hearing a flutby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi fellow sufferers, wondering through our experiences if anyone can help me. Im prepping for my fourth ablation / first in left atrium. 1) Does anyone taking flecainide have the effect of bundle block? I get rate dependent LBBB with pain at around 100 to 120 bpm. 2) Does this mean if I discontinued the Flec my LBBB would move up the scale to a higher rate or possibly go away? 3) Does evby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
