I think what he meant was maybe "modern conveniences" This is a similar thought to my previous thread on "What causes Afib" Our foods are legally tainted with stuff that poisons us, we have been exposed to chemicals in daily life, and so on. I read an article recently on the fellas picking strawberries in CA having to wear body suits because of pestisides! There is sby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
One reason I like my GP in Lexington KY is that he uses some caution and consideration in his work. I may think differently if my Afib starts again but for now after my Feb. this year ablation I am somewhat pleased. The plan was go in ablate the PV's and any other aberant spots or areas that show up. PV's are almost always a given. Many of the big name guys do just that, they goby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Slim78 duke is right there are many many feelings, beats, etc. and most likely they are all due to afib, pre-afib or maybe flukes. The best thing to do now is stop worrying, stop measuring ur pulse, stop with the apps, etc. If your test results were good and your symptoms arent bad enough to make u feel bad just have a great day. We all drive ourselves crazy waiting for the next weird beaby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
My EP likes me to take coated aspirin I was on eliquis prior to my Feb 2014 ablation and he has told me if I were to go into AFIB pop an eliquis. this drug is very effective and not as severe side effects as most blood thinners My CHADS is very low alsoby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Erich It would be best to avoid flecainide I just couldnt. I do have my doses down to very low amounts tho. Yes I saw Natale. My second ablation was right artial tachy that they couldnt stop. I was sent to him and they helped me. My tachy slowly morphed into AFIB Flec is a good drug for helping some of this but I know it does give me other problems.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
DANG George how much cheese you eatin fella? Eric, I feel your pain I have been in the exact same spot many times. I tried the magnesium pills, rubs, baths, etc. nothing worked. Had to start Flecainide. It was the only drug that would curb the ectopics and afib and then once I can get calmed down it seemed the mag and other stuff helped. I am five ablations into this thing. Right nowby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Eric My problems started at 36, Im 52 now. I began having terrible GERD, stomach gas, indigestion. as a matter of fact my first tachy episode was during the procedure where they scope down your throat. There is some very close connection. I limit barbque, spicy foods, onions, peppers. Why it all of a sudden begins......evidently no one knows. I never ever had any prob before that age.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wish you the very best! May peace of mind be with youby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George what is the best form for me to take (ingest). I try the magnesium spray sometimes but find it can burn my skin.by tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I now this sounds elementary maybe a bit dumb. I have a lot of muscle "twitching" in my calves. Very frequent especially in latet evening. Could this be dehydration or is my body telling me I need somethign as you mention? I have mentioned this to my EP and he never addresses it. Sometimes it is just like the muscles are reacting as if they are getting little electric jolts throughby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Taylor thats very interesting. I frequently have leg cramps and twitches just from daily walking etc at work and some other activities. So is there really much quinine in tonic water? I mean surely it would be worth a try for me. The FDA hasnt banned tonic water so I dont suppose it would hurt to tryby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
All of those Classes of rhythm drugs basically disturb or slow conduction between the top part of your heart and the bottom. LBBB or left bundle branch block is when your heart is tryinf to beat and send the signal to your vetricles but it is slowed enough that your heart basically gets out of whack. I can feel a hard flop and then some dis rhythm until it slows back down. I have had an ablatiby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ron I had a very similar experience with my EP. At the beginning (15 yrs ago) I would tell him "it has to be related to my gut", he would kinda blow it off like I was crazy. Through the years that notion has transformed into responses from him like "Oh yes GERD and indigestion, bloating etc. can trigger and cause you problems". He even prescribed Prilosec one time. So I tby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Im still on the "There is some underlying reason" RANT. anyway is it just me or does everyone notice almost Every post about afib includes "I have GERD" or indigestion or stomach issues? I know this isnt a big epifany. The stomach would relate to problems of mal-absorbtion, etc. How many of us started with GERD (or stomach problems) before Afib....Can I see a show of haby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I took rythmol several years. Obviously any of the "heavy hitter" drugs are not preferred but sometimes we have no choice. I did not like the rythmol. I am considerably young and active. The rythmol shortened my breath and I felt pretty bad on it. There were times I didnt think I could make it up my basement steps. I take Flecainide now (reduced dose since ablation). I have seen Natale also, but more than likely you must have had a straight forward case. There are a lot of great EP's out there other than Natale that are very efficient. Evidently me and many others have very very complicated cases that require the skills of an extremely talented and experienced doctor like Natale. I think this demonstrates there are varying degrees of complicatiby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Denver, That is so awesome. Do you ever have ectopic beats at all. Just wondering. I have had several ablations, one for afib. I just wonder is the definition of success no odd beats ever ...at all, or no afib? Congrats Timby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I get that maybe there were cases of Afib or some arythmia problems way back when but there is no way it was as crazy prominent as now. I mean unless people just died and they said it was a heart attack. But the unruly heart is plainly noticeable and drives you crazy and I cant imagine it was overlooked or put off as something else. Why is it becoming EPIDEMIC ? Has to be a reason and they hby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
This past weekend I attended my 35 year high school reunion in Louisville. While driving down Poplar Level Rd and taking in the sites I noticed a bill board sign close to a local hospital. I believe intererence does affect all of us. Obviously we are electric...right? So all of the technology we have managed to conjure must in some way have an affect......Electric Fields Everywhere! but to try and filter or sort all of that out........No way. Hey Duke........Im with you !!! If it can be controlled this way why aren't the docs saying "take this" "Take that" ? I dont get it either, and everything is so personalized Are we all lacking different things? IDKby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have not related it to Flecaininde but I presented to the doc several times that upon wakening, at times, I feel almost like my chest is vibrating and I think Im in some weird rhythm. WOW smackman that is very commendable. BTW I hope you are still doing well aft recent ablation. Mine was done in Feb this year also. I have good blood pressure, sometimes borderline, borderline cholest, NEVER smoked not one cig, eat pretty well always have, never salted my foodby tsco - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Erich Yes for a while I had the exact same type of experience. If I went from right side to left. for me getting up to quick would cause afib. This was especially true during times when I would wake kind of foggy headed. I assume getting up too fast was causing a blood pressure drop, im not sure.
