Hi Liz, I had a similar injury a few years ago. My injury came about by over reaching for a water bottle that had fallen to the floor in my car. I was stopped at a light and tried to pick it up to stop the rolling around while driving. Of course I was belted in so my reach was limited by the seat belt. That didn't stop me from trying to stretch a little farther to get the bottle. My effoby Adrian - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I too hope Fran is doing well. Her courage and perseverance were heartening. I once called her the paleo Queen. Hope that's not why she left :-) Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barry, it sounds like things are going good for you. That's nice to hear, another Bordeaux ablatee that is still NSR. I too now visit the board only occasionally to do some reading and catch up a bit since my ablation with Hocini 2.5 years ago. I'm glad to see that Jackie added in the need for Vit D3 as part of immune supporting protocol. I just thought I,d throw in the caution forby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie , I'm so glad that you are home now and recovering from your touch up. Funny word that "touchup" Sounds like its the light version of an ablation but I know it was more like a redo. I hope your recovery is a speedy one and that you get back to doing all the things that give you pleasure. Blessings to you. Cheers Adrian, 60 and NSR for 2.5by Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Could these Storms also influence afib?? Here is an article about that very thing. Solar flares might protect against arrhythmias Suspicious observers Blog by David Hyde. describes the relationship between high instances of solar flaring and the lower instances of Gamma rays. During lower instances of solar flaring there would be more Gamma rays and more arrhythmias?? Space weather &by Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Duke, My opinion is to go with what Natale advises. the only reason not to ablate would be if you were trying the supplement /nutritional approach like some members here. If you are hesitant to do that dance then go to the best. After ten years of afib and 2 failed ablations I finally went to bordeaux for a successful Dr. Hocini ablation. My afib had developed from frequent to persistent andby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
No magnesium in LSV8 from Campbells LSV8 nutritional contentby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
James, another alternative to LSV8, one that I use is Coconut water. One 520ml can of Sun Tropics pure coconut water from Costco contains 460mg of potassium. Unfortunately it also contains 11 gm of sugar which you are trying to avoid. Another alternative "No Salt" is a salt NACL replacement product KCL that is made with potassium instead of Sodium. 1/4 tsp has 650 mg of potassium iby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon, I bought the Jarrow brand but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you very much Hans, I can't believe it's 2014. Twelve years have passed by since I first discovered my afib and shortly there after this wonderful forum. I am thankful that because of this forum I had the guidance to resist the directions of my first cardiologists who were after all of the plumbing variety and not the electrical, to take sotalol even tho I am vagal and Digoxin (by Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi roberts, I'd also be interested in who did your ablation and where in Alberta. Adrian from Edmontonby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey joe, I'd start with 300 mg per day 3 x 100mg. if thats ok you can move it on up by 100 per day. Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
hey Jim good to hear of your success being afib free. Stories like yours and gill's demonstrating longer afib free time frames are heartening. I finally got my successful ablation done at bordeaux by dr. hocini. 1.5 years so far and no afibs. I should have done it years ago when you and Jackie were doing it . Seems like yesterday. Wishing you much enjoyment in your ongoing afib free yearby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Lou, thanks for putting in [email protected] for Bordeaux contact. I thought it was in my post but ..... it wasn't Cheers Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Michael, Greetings from Edmonton. I totally understand where you are coming from. I had been a relatively asymptomatic paroxysmal afibber for about 8 years but my episodes were getting increasingly longer as the years passed. Although not getting the high heart rates was ok I still hated to be in afib with its continuing tiredness and exhaustion from simple things like climbing a flight of staby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM

Like Aldona, I am not as frequent a visitor to the board as I once was. My Bordeaux ablation was in the spring of 2012. I did not find the hospital to be dirty, just old. The food was quite plain and tasteless but it was about what I was expecting for a hospital, basic. After the ablation we also stayed in a small apartment on Rue Huggerie cooked our own meals and shopped at the Auchon and soby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM

Iatrogenia, welcome to the forum. I have been catching up on posts and noticed above that your vitamin D supplement is of the D2 form. That is not the right form to take. The better form for raising your 25OHD levels in the blood is the D3 type. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ron, They didn't give me a Foley at Bordeaux so you're probably ok there. I think I was put under but remember waking up near the end and listening to the conversation that was going on between Dr Hocini and another Dr. who was assisting in the placement of the pacing catheter. It may have been for only 20 minutes. tops Hard to say. I could feel the burns but made my best effort to enby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow. I got tears in my eyes just thinking about that. My question is why do some even get a foley. I have had 3 ablations, 2 in Edmonton and one in Bordeaux. no foleys thank God. Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Lou, We only spent 1/2 day in St. Emillion and it was too short. We could have spent the whole day there. What a lovely place to walk around what with its twisting turning roads and old world charm. Wonderful. Did you climb the sand dune at Arcachon. I did but I took it slow. It's wonderful view of the ocean from up there. Cheers Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
For sure it works on ipad and iphone . It should work on ipod touch. at least it shows up in the ipod zone on my Mac. Cheers adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
It was the same for me. If I was willing to pay they were ready to play. Did they send you the questionnaire about your afib? Plus are you going to have to get a TEE beforehand. I barely had enough time to get it arranged so don't waste any time, book it now, stat. Above all don't worry They will treat you GOOD. Do you know who will be doing your procedure? Cheers Adrianby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ron, I know you've made the right choice. I do not regret spending the money. If you and your wife are staying over some time after the ablation I know of a cozy little apartment for two that is just minutes from the Grand theatre on foot. 15 rue Hugerie if you want to google the location. it cost about 450 Euro to stay there for six days. not bad. send me a pm or email if you want moreby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
Congrats Dave, I echo your sentiments. Today after going up and down a flight of stairs numerous times easily, I stopped and thought about how I would have felt last year before my successful ablation and YES life in NSR is good. Cheers Adrian 1 year seven days normalby Adrian - AFIBBERS FORUM
