Mom came home yesterday. They added Tiazac to her metoprolol and had her stop her BP medsby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey I don't think AAR drugs have a snowball's chance in hell of working. Maybe (and it's a big maybe) if they preloaded her with amiodarone and then cardioverted her, but the odds are low. I would think rate limitation would be their first consideration. They can go higher on the metoprolol and they can try diltiazem instead or in combination. Since she's not respondby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN So the laundry list the doc spat out was cartizem then amiodrone which I retorted my objections to that and mentioned flecanide and ticosyn which he sort of shot down stating that they were no longer in favor and that amiodrone was the preferred way to go. If your mom has been in persistent afib for 15 years, the chances of a rhythm med working (except maybe amiodarone????) iby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello All , Been a while since I've been here. What Carey always says whenever someone asks about people and successful ablations being here is true. When you have a successful ablation and in NSR your visits here become less frequent and I am a guilty party. Currently I am sitting in the ER with my 79yo mom. She has been in controlled persistent Afib for the better part of 15yrs. Sby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
I take Mag L-Threonate and Theanine as sleep aid as I did not want to continue to use Melatonin. My sleep seems better now than with the Melatonin and I have not experienced any ill effects.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just finished up wearing the Vital connect HRM a couple weeks ago. Very similar to the ZIO. However, unlike the zio I had no issues with adherence and was able to exercise, shower etc without the patch wanting to come off like the zio. I did have some minor irritation but very minimal. One negative observation is it is in constant communication with the phone and I assume uploading. This cauby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Amiodarone. Did they try anything other drug besides this? Why not Ticosyn (Defetilide) or something else first. I'm guessing that you haven't had an ablation as of yet.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Congratulations!!!! Glad everything went well.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM

Mandrola does spend allot of time online. I have spoken to him a couple times early on and he was very open and approachable. That of course was quite some time ago. He has had his own bout with affib and comes from a very conservative approach focusing on health and lifestyle choices as a first line defense to affib. So at the very least he has personal experience with it as it was most likely dby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteSam I don't know what type of physical therapy you've but I highly recommend you find a practitioner who uses the Maitland technique. Ask him to show you mobilisation exercises to do every day - knee rocking to chest, standing pelvic rocking and full squat with rounded back. Every time you bend over pull in your stomach to stabilise the spine. I used this treatment on manby rocketritch - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
QuoteJKAF Pretty much everything good in your life only happens once you get past your fear. Go to Austin, get it done, and enjoy your life! My wife and I flew to Austin September of 2020. While there we ate out and did some shopping. We stayed downtown during that trip and it was like a ghost town. But there were restaurant's open and SOCO was still pretty busy during the day. So sorry to here of your situation Susan. My son and I both had Covid between 🦃 day and Christmas. Son was first to get it. Dr. Started him on steroids second day of symptoms. He started showing improvement the next day and was done with it except for slight cough around day 11. I tested positive 6 days after he started showing symptoms. I started showing symptoms on day 4. Slight dry couby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM

I agree with George and Carey as I lived with intermittent bouts of afib during exercise. Just be aware of how you feel and don't push yourself if you don't feel well. I like Ken who has replied below, was unable to exercise during an afib event. A majority of my episodes were triggered by exercise, which as an athlete was not optimal. The couple times I did try to push through an evby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hoping to get some snow before spring to be able to get out on the XC skis and or snowshoeing. The only real exciting thing is that my son ad I both had covid right after Thanksgiving. QuoteElizabeth Rocketritch I've had 5. No regrets. Sorry but if I was to get my first ablation and saw your post, that would scare the heck out of me. I edited itby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
After my 2nd ablation failed my local EP was talking to me about a laparoscopic type ablation where they would work from inside and outside the heart. Cant remember what it was called but same principle as the maze scaring the heart from both outside and inside. I was contemplating it until I found this site and spoke with Dr Natale.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've had 5. No regrets. 1st lasted close to 10 years. 2nd was a complete failure. The last 3 were spent pinning down the cause as I am a complicated case. Each of the last 3 left me in far better shape than the previous.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
I haven been to a massage therapist since a little after covid began. My therapist hung it up due to personal health issues and didn't want to take the risk. Anyway, for years I had deep tissue massages 2-3 times a month. Never had any issues from it.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM

Have been using melatonin for years without issue. Have cut back recently and have been using magnesium threonate and theonine to improve my sleep performance. I'll add a small amount of melatonin to that occasionally. Usually when I am on night shift and sleeping during the early ours of the day. Have also been using cpap for over a year now due to Hypopnea with no issues. What aboutby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Using the magnesium-threonate and the L-Theanine I get really restful sleep. Much better than when I was taking the melatonin.by rocketritch - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I second the Flecanide as a possibility of you are on it. I had very vivid dreams when on it. Many were nightmares. As to sleep I have used melatonin for several years but was concerned with using too much. I now take Magnesium Threonate & L-Theanine with great results thus far. Good restful sleep.by rocketritch - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
