I am on Eliquis and started taking 500mg taurine daily as its good for the heart (am on plant based diet).Just read that it can cause bloodthinning and shouldn't be taken with Eliquis.Any truth to this?

I am on 2.5mg bid Eliquis (over 80 and weigh approx 120lbs). Is it ok to add a small clove garlic daily to my diet? I also take a low dose fish oil daily. Also enjoy a spoon of bee pollen as a treat daily which I just read cannot be taken with Warfarin so wondering if its ok with Eliquis. My diet is plant based and healthy.Thnx for input

Just curious if its considered safe to get the shingles vax for those of us who get AF?I have had 2 shingles episodes in the past 30yrs and because of my age was thinking perhaps its wise to get the vax?

thnx to both of you. I have had to stop Eliquis for other procedures but thankfully not had any issues. Its so frightening, never realized that stopping it could cause a stroke even without having AF episode I don't think for a dental extraction there would be any alternative as any other anticoagulant would be just as bad as Eliquis for a surgery. I am waiting to hear back from cardiologis

I always thought that the only danger of stopping Eliquis prior to surgery is because one might get AF while off it and that could cause a stroke. However I just read online that iust stopping it can bring on a stroke! Is this true?

I have been taking Cardiovascular Research Mag Taurate for my heart and just recently saw online that it contains arsenic =:0 Is there another brand that is free of lead/arsenic etc? Consumer Labs requires people join/pay in order to give details on product safety

In the past year or so I noticed a very brief episode of migraine aura (no headache) within around 24hrs of having an AF episode. Never had them before altho when I was very young I would have a migraine headache but never with an aura and haven't had one for 50yrs. Unfortunately I just looked It up and found it increases risk of stroke so now am very frightened

Can someone explain to me re having a Watchman? My cardiologist has never mentioned it but someone I know said I should have it to prevent a stroke (I am on Eliquis but I realize that does not always prevent one). Now I am concerned about this

persistent AF question - 2 years ago

I get AF every couple months or so and usually no more than 8hrs. Started it in 2011 when stupid dr overdosed my thyroid meds. Just curious if I should expect to end up in persistent AF eventually? Mainly asking because I am scheduled for a surgical procedure this month but would prefer to do it early summer but a relative told me I should get it done now while not always in AF which I understand

thnx Carey appreciate your insight. Sometimes in the past year I am not aware that I am in AF altho I feel strange and then check my pulse and realize I am in it. Dr said if HR stays under 100 thats ok, just wondering if that sounds right altho thankfully its usually 70-90 when in AF because I am on metoprolol.

Will be having colonoscopy next Monday but was disappointed to have an AF episode on Sunday for a few hours (HR under 90) first one since January. I have to stop Eliquis 2 days prior and now concerned that I may have an episode so I called cardiologist office and nurse said as long as HR under 100 if I have one it will be ok. But supposing its highter, should I cancel procedure? Praying this won&

About 5yrs ago had a Cologuard test which was negative and then 2mths ago another one which was positive Have read there are often false positives with Cologuard so praying thats true for me. Gastroenterologist said only way to really be sure is to have a colonoscopy as any other test is not as thorough plus tests like CT scan can not remove polyps so if they are seen a colonoscopy would have to

apparently an MRA is just a MRI of the arteries and has been recommended by my cardiologist as last doppler ultrasound showed some blockage in one of my carotid arteries and he said the MRA is better. I have had AF for about 12yrs since a stupid dr overdosed my thyroid meds. I usually have just a few episodes a year but in 2021 had a several episodes during a couple months but went back to not having any for quite a few months. This last year I didn't have any for 5mths but then had short episodes about once a month June-Sept and then rang the new year in with an episode. I was shattered
