It's so weird that you posted this message when you did, pompon. I was coming here for more or less the same reasons. I had another 'episode' in last night that's still sort of ongoing now and it's had me questioning myself, and my cardiologists. Have lots of other health issues but yesterday wasn't an awful day. Started to feel a bit off in the evening and wheby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm waiting to find out the same thing, I'm not sure there are any drugs specifically for ectopics, are there? Mine never lead to afib (touch wood), since ablation. But then, I have actually only suffered with ectopics since I had my ablation. Awaiting results of a zio patch soon, so I guess I'll find out. Have you tried the host of supplements that are recommended by theby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteNotLyingAboutMyAfib Am I the only one here not injecting myself ? I don't know about that, I wasn't until recently. But I take PPIs and my absorption of most vital vitamins is atrocious.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Okay, so I'm gonna need to take a proper look at this at a time when my brain can process this much information hahaby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteDaisy So.... has anybody had any experience taking vitamin B12 injections and 'interactions' with your heart? I only ask as I self-administered hydroxocobalamin for the first time on Wednesday What dose did you inject? I inject 1 mg of hydroxocobalamin and notice no heart side-effects at all. I just experience an overall boost. I'm also injecting 1mg myself. I donby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Ben. I'm just now awaiting results of a Zio Patch and I'm planning to ask my cardio for something along those lines regardless of whether he thinks it's necessary. I'm so tired of constant, breathing taking ectopic beats.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
So.... has anybody had any experience taking vitamin B12 injections and 'interactions' with your heart? I only ask as I self-administered hydroxocobalamin for the first time on Wednesday, due to deficiency. I had some tremors/edginess in the night, which is apparently normal. But my heart has been a little bit over-excited since. I'm not sure whether it's because I was qby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Not that this adds much to the conversation, but I recently wore a ZioPatch for 14 days and, other than some itching in the last 4-5 days, it wasn't all that noticeable. I'm hoping for the results in the next week or so. I've never worn the ePatch though. I'll have to look into it.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I ended up going for a relatively unknown one for the time being: It's an analogue watch that's primary function is as an ECG and fitness tracker. Tracks sleep, steps. Only downside is no constant HR monitor. But it was less than £100. I'll sell on my FitBit Charge 3 and it'll have barely cost me £25. I'm holding off until a more complete smart watch includes aby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ah yeah, looking through the requirements for entry and I am not currently having intermittent afib 1-2 times per month. Looks as if Withings, Apple and Amazfit Verge 2 are the only ones that have the tech that is on the market. Apple obviously looks the best but is also obscenely expensive too.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks guys I'll take a look. Doesn't look as if I'm eligible but I'll have a look.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Was reading that top article with excitement, until the end where it states 'commercial launch in 2024' haha. That said, it's in Galway which isn't far from where I live so I may have a look into this. Great stuff. I've always wondered why there was so little effort to find a way to treat this other than dangerous meds and literally burning the heart muscle.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
As the title says (although not the Apple Watch, I'm not made of money!). Just curious. I got a Fitbit, under the impression the tech was already built in but there were 3rd party apps that you could use for it but that isn't true. Also, it's getting harder and harder for me to remember to bring my Kardia with me everywhere as I'm terrified of losing it (I have CFS, so mby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteLaniB Dear Davros T, I have been pounding down the ReMag for almost a year trying to get my RBC Mg test up to optimal. Can you please tell me where you found out about the lead in ReMag, and anything else about it? I have recently ordered a different type. It's a chelated powder which is supposed to be absorbed well. Dr. Dean's formulas, as convincing as she is in her booksby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all, anybody know how long this solution will last in the fridge? I made 4 litres of diluted, with 1/3 of the mag solution and still have a lot of that left. I think I drank it too fast and gave myself reflux. I'm determined to find a way to try it for a prolonged period though, so just interested how long it'll be viable in the fridge.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I now have the required ingredients for this, this afternoon. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again!by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotekarin I have used Cardiovascular Research's liquid magnesium for years to convert from Afib to sinus rhythm. I know that sounds crazy, but it has worked 100 percent of the time. My husband had Afib for 15 years before me, and it helped him too to convert until ablations were a more permanent fix. I also take it before playing two hours of hard tennis (for a 68 year old!) in the heat andby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGill I have IBS, so is that something I'll want to start at slowly? I also know nothing about IBS. This may not suit you at all. Maybe start with a small amount and gradually increase to bowel tolerance, then take a step back? Gill Thanks George and Gill, I'll just take it slowly but you're right, it does seem mild initially. I've previously been fine with 5by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGill I use Waller Water, get loads of magnesium from that. Cheap and easy to make, everything available in UK. Recipe is here: Gill Thanks Gill, that looks really cool. I'll give that a go. I have IBS, so is that something I'll want to start at slowly? Take Omeprazole for it.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I've been doing a little reading on different forms of magnesium, considering tab/cap form seems to have stopped being any use for me. I've tried all types: citrate, chelated, bisglycinate and my ectopics are actually getting worse. So I came across ReMag the other day and was immediately suspicious due to its price. A bit of research tells me it contains lead and there's a lby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anybody know of, or have any experience with, the doctor above? I'm looking to have a virtual appointment with a cardiologist, and the prospect of waiting months for even a fast-track appointment on the NHS at this time is not a good one. I'm still awaiting a rearranged appointment for a 7-day tape from January. And the current situation is little diff, even with the easing of lby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJustMeToo I was having PVCs for several months ...non stop....and I was taking magnesium taurate consistently . I could not feel the premature heart beats, but they showed up constantly on my blood pressure machine and in my cardiologist's office. He ordered an echo which showed no other problem, but confirmed the constant PVCs. I was reading in another a-fib forum about someoneby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJackie Davros - There are many positive, beneficial effects from L-arginine. However, a number of years ago, I recall reading about potential L-arginine side effects. Undoubtedly, it depends on how much you are taking as well as whether you have healthy kidney function (as reflected by lab tests). The indication was that L-arginine can cause high potassium levels. Perhaps so. But prior to that I'd had 3 episodes of afib in 12 months. Since then I've had increasingly worsening activity (that's not afib) but has been even more disruptive. Guess I'll never know.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yeah, there is absolutely zero doubt that anxiety over this situation (and my own situation) is playing a role but my heart activity is certainly ramping up to previously unknown levels. I'm at a point now where I wonder whether the ablation a few years ago was a bad idea. Prior to that, I had 2-3 episodes of afib that were traceable to something I'd done the previous days. Now I canby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yeah, I know, they just feel like pauses due to what feels like a heck of a long wait for my heart to beat again. No, I was just sitting up in bed. Had a lot of activity so I was determined to try and catch some of it for a change. Only thing in the room is an xbox and TV, birth were off.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi guys, been a couple of months since I last posted, so I have a couple of questions. Any of you ever find your breath taken away by particularly strong flutters or ectopics, and get a 'rush of blood' feeling to the head? I was having a lot of rhythm problems in the last few months, and despite having been taking magnesium, taurine and L-arginine for 18 months, it was getting incby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all, thanks for your comments and advice. I think I may give the mg a break for a while and see how my heart holds up. Then, thanks to the great advice of Jackie, I will a different type of mg for a while. I'll stop the arginine too, and the taurine. Just give my body a chance to readjust and see how I do. I know it's all on an individual basis, but I really appreciate all oby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm assuming the answer is 'yes'. But I'm asking for other's experiences, really. I had been having more regular heart 'activity' recently. But it's been a stressful period for me, and I've had other health probs too. In response, I upped my magnesium (from Holland & Barrett) dose from 500mg daily to 750mg daily. About 3 nights ago, I had a tby DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
That sounds pretty scary. Was this immediately (i.e. in the weeks after) post-ablation? My HR got as low as 54 at rest about 12 months post ablation and I was quite pleased with that because I took it to mean I was becoming much more fit and healthy than I'd been for a LONG time but I can imagine HR that low must be really terrifying.by DavrosT - AFIBBERS FORUM
