Not sure if this is chicken or egg- but I know many with afib are on a blood thinner and that is contraindicated. A lot of things at play. Good reason to ask your providers ahead of time and your situation is a reminder of that.. unfortunately.. but the rest can benefit. I have been told I can't take Paxlovid. When the monoclonal antibodies were around they were an option. Hoping you aby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi there- I have a different history than you for sure and recently started on a med that at one point my BP was... 75 for the upper number. (Before people freak I was in touch with my doctor). So I totally get what you are feeling. At one point I put my head down on the table and was like- I think I'll just take a little nap.. I know mine was a med (not afib related) but I also went dby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have taken diltiazem as well and I agree with Carey- I felt like I couldn't walk across the room with a a BB. no issues with the diltiazem.by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
So making it yourself-- I was just reading the 'how to' paper. Seems easy but I don't mix well with fizzy waters of any kind. They blow up my stomach, and even trigger irregular heart beats. So maybe I have to stick with the supplements or maybe I am reading it incorrectly. Or does the shaking get rid of the fizzy mostly? I switched to glycerinate this week and it's causinby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks George. As always a wealth of info. Another question on it a friend mentioned taking it with animal fat helped the absorption or something. Do you know anything about that?by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am sure this is discussed several times a year and I did find this one old post discussing it. I have taken various forms of Mg of the years Citrate or oxide if I have to get things moving glycinate- for heart l-theronate - for sleep ... QuoteCarey Yeah, flecainide is usually the first choice for a PIP. With 3-4 bouts of afib over 30 years I wouldn't take any drug daily. I don't even understand the point of taking metoprolol for a month. Yes I was wondering the metropolol .. the why of it. His BP is fine. Does it help "prevent" it? QuoteGeorgeN Also I think the EP could give guidelines for staying home. When he went his rate was in the 130s. And.. it was like 5 am Saturday morning. So wasn't like he was going to be able to call doc any time soon. Is he symptomatic at 130? For me, that is a normal afib rate and nothing I worry about. I've been dealing with this so long and I have had other issues-- so I need a refresher for my husband to ask the docs. He has had afib a few times. He went in very early Sat morning to ER. They did not want to cardiovert there so they inpatiented. him. They had him on metroprolol. Then he went to flutter yesterday afternoon so added cardizem. they also did Mg and potassium in IV.. I was able to find a pharmacist as part of my EP group that was able to give very educated opinions on these sorts of things. Even the EPs themselves I don't feel have a great grasp on this. I was talking to a "crunchy" friend who recently had an afib episode and had heard that taking Mg with animal fat helps it ??assimilate?? to the body. grab on.. whatever.. Right now I take my Mg at bedtime but am going to back some of it up to dinner. Or maybe even breakfast if I am having eggs. She said it was the fattier things- ie not chicken breasts- that did it. My brother finally got into a cardiologist.. they did a stress test and other things, put him on a calcium channel blocker and a long acting nitroglycerine. A family member has used medical marijuana. It all depends on what you want it for. We did not find the bud-tenders to be particularly helpful for our situation but in general sativa is more for energizing and indica strains are more for relaxation.
