Quotegloaming Has GAD been ruled out for you, Bettylou? Generalized anxiety disorder? And, even if it's simply not the case, could anxiety be robbing you of relaxation and rest? Is falling asleep the problem, or remaining asleep? Both? Good questions. It is mostly reamaining asleep. The there is a new therapist I am considering hiring who works on the anxiety OF insomnia.. along witby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteDaisy Sleep is also a problem for me and I have used edibles with THC—they did help enormously with sleep but I would get tolerant of the THC quite quickly and need to increase the dose. And, unfortunately, after using an edible for a few days, I invariably had an Afib episode. I experimented with this, many, many times and that was always the outcome—THC builds up in the body as it is slowby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuotePavanPharter Perlmutter has a lot of ideas around natural sleep. Personally I avoid caffeine completely, get some exercise in the evening, warm baths, cool sleeping room(68 or less), remove blue light (TV, cell phone tablets etc) from after sunset, use warm low watt light bulbs in bed room, or even blue blocker glasses after sunset. Get some morning sun. Sunrise) Get in rhythm with natureby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
This has been discussed before but I am googling again, whilst I can't sleep and tempted by the gummies I have in my possession but not used. Maybe someone has some new information here. Sleep has been an ongoing battle and I have done all myriad of supplements and helps with "specialists". This post is specifically to ask what others may have heard about afib and arrhythmias wby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have two aortic things. had a stent put in. aortic stent. can't recall if that was for the stenosis. I am off and running today but PM me. I'll look it up later. Done by a cath guy at a children's hosptial (UofM). I didn't read all the responses because I need to go but again PM me and I'll tell you more. ps I just did glance at the comments. we are all unique.by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
You guys are hilarious. I will say I have used hemorrhoid cream for bug bites. It works fantastic.by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Went to the pharmacy... Got my Eliquis... $0.... Got my other expensive heart med... $0 .... ..... ..... Hemorrhoid cream.. $125. what???!!! I left it there and am going to call and see if I can't get something different....Sorry if TMI- I just thought this was hilarious and figured I'd share it someplace that would appreciate it. .by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi. I am in metro Detroit. I do have a EP that I like at UofM. But I do think depending on your circumstance a trip to Natale would be a good way to go. Happy to connect and tell you more however. (I have an interesting history so it doesn't fit everyone but wanted to just pipe in because I am from the area.)by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm so glad you asked this and thanks for that detailed answer George. I've done "23" hour fasts... where I eat dinner and then don't eat until dinner the next night. I would like to do it more from a body rest standpoint and also religious standpoint but have been a little skittish. Never really put 2 and 2 together about insulin / sodium / potassium.by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Has anyone used any of the HeartMath products? I have had a lot of triggers for any myriad of irregular heart beats over the years and this was recommended by a couple people one being a physician of mine. When watching reviews on it, it focuses on HRV. They don't address afib but I'm wondering if it would be a useful tool for me on an every day basis to calm anxieties which can trigby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotegloaming Bettylou, if it is the case, unbeknownst, that you ARE celiac, the considered limit of consumption of gluten is less than 20 ugm/diem. That is 'less than 20 micrograms...', about what would stick to a toothpick inserted 10 mm into a slice of bread. I'm not an expert in the subject, and certainly not a physician (at least not of any repute ), but my wife was diagnby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJackie Bettylou.... also note that if there is a dairy sensitivity or lactose intolerance, you need to address that by taking the lactase enzyme whenever you eat anything that contains dairy. The sensitivity reaction is bloating and gas symptoms. These are tablet or capsule form... easy to carry and use 'on demand' when needed. Quotegloaming Could celiac be at play here? I don't think so. I am not gluten free but gluten reduced. I do know with even a bit of gluten it can affect you with celiac but I have always been gluten reduced, if you will. I have a couple events coming up over the next month but maybe after that I will go off 100% for awhile again. it is a very good thought even though I don't know iby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I see you have a lot of moving parts. I was going to ditto the Mg. I have I think 4 kinds of Mg in the house- Mg Oxide seems to do it for me for consitpation. I take various kinds thru the day though. And I ditto the more water if you are doing more fiber but I have to limit my water for other reasons so I understand. Quotecolindo Omeprazole (Prilosec) has a very short half-life, on the order of less than an hour, so it's completely out of your system within about 8 hours. I don't think connecting Prilosec and the PACs makes sense. My PACs started after I stopped Omeprazole. I had some flecainide and took that and they stopped for a while. QuoteCarey There was a week between going off the Prilosec and all the PACs starting, so what makes you think they're connected? well when they put you ON Priolsec they do a two week stint. So I figured, even though it gets out of your system, you still have some of the effects from it in your system (if indeed it is Gerd / reflux that is going on). That's my logic anyway...by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
If this should be in general move it on over Carey. After my ablation I dutifully did the Prilosec. I'm not much a fan of that but wanted to follow directions. (I don't always but I did have a frozen vocal cord with another heart thing and wanted to .. follow directions.). I tried to get off it several times but had GERD. ps there is a lot out there about bradycardia and even CBD... just noting that as a PS to my note above should people be looking into it. That's fabulous. I have struggled with insomnia for .. ever.. like 20 years. But the last two nights were horrible and I was thinking, "I have pot downstairs". It is legal here and another family member was using it for awhile. But I have read how it can trigger more afib. I am familiar with all the cannabinoids. I am totally going to look into this. as susan mentioned- the tagaderm can help keep it on. I have had reactions in the past. With the Zio they want to shave it.. sandpaper. I tell them no. And they say yes.. and I say no. For anyone interested in CBT-I for Insomnia..Cognitive Behavioral therapy for Insomnia. I paid one hosptial to get help in this area (and it did).. but then found this study which legit paid me to do their program .. and it was more of a refresher for me. I stopped Eliquis for a few days for a procedure (doctor directed.). I was off it 5 days (before and after). Hey there- I have troubles with sleeping as well. I do take a Xanax to sleep sometimes but I also try and follow CBT-I. I paid to do therapy for it at the doctor and then found this study- you get paid for it. It is a proven (better than medication) solution to sleep. It doesn't work perfect for me and I still take a Zanny sometimes. But I have found the techniques quite helpful. All oby bettylou4488 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
