Daisy. How long ago was your procedure?by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Agree. I did get in on 6 lead Kardia. The tracings always have a lot of artifact says my EP but he did confirm it was sporadic afib. He suggested a holter but these episodes are so fleeting, and 15 day holter won’t likely catch it. The episodes are weeks and week apart. For now at least. I’ll re-evaluate as things change, and they always change.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks. It really is random but also somewhat cyclical. When I use to get it a lot, it would hit about three days apart. Last 20 hours and not be triggered by anything in particular. In fact I was on vacation last week, drinking and staying up late. Not sleeping like I would routinely. And didn’t have a single blip. Then it crops up two days ago when I’m hydrated, rested and eating normally. It’by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey all, Well, had my afib ablation in December 2019 and had been afib free (not one single episode) for four year. But almost to the day last month I started getting curious runs of missed beats. Almost rhythmic misses actually. Like five or six ectopics in a row. It all settled down after a couple hours, but yesterday it happened again and drifted into afib. Not quite as noticeable as in theby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have vagal afib and it most definitely progressed. From once a year to ten times a month over about a ten year span. Would it have gone to persistent? I have no idea. But it clearly got worse over time.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuotePompon Considering there's still no cure for AFib, I'd go for the "lightest efficient choice". Flec works with no side effects? Why bother with an ablation? One can stop taking a drug. When the burns are done in one's atria, they're done. For the best and the worst. Ablation is commonly efficient. It's likely the most efficient treatment to date, but it dby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
I firmly believe that an antibiotic exacerbated my heart palpitations and afib many years ago.The culprit was Sufameth i took for a spider bite. It took months for my system to calm down. People will say that sounds crazy but I could taste the sulfa in my mouth for a long time too and am convinced it trigger a heart reaction. I never expected it to, so it wasn't psychological. I had tons of PACs after my afib ablation. Would get a skipped beat thud every four seconds for runs of five or more. And I'd get them for hours on end. Went on for months a months. I was on here all the time looking for re-assurance they would subside and was told they would settle down but I didn't believe it. Well they did. I'm nearly three years out now, and yes I still have aby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had successful afib ablation going on three years ago, but I still get some runs of ectopic beats, mostly in the afternoon. Not sure what these are (PVC vs PAC) quite honestly but they are annoying. I had PVC ablation four years ago, so they could be PAC or PVC. I personally try and stay hydrated and on bad days I take a 50 mg Fleccainide and 25 mg Metropolol. That's my regimen and my doctby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
You said double heart beats. So you're having ectopics or actual afib? As for ectopics and skipped beats, I had TONS of them starting about a week after my ablation. Very stressful and I was on here all the time looking for encouragement and answers. People told me they would calm down more than likely, and they did. But it took about a year for the ectopics to subside. I get a bad day heby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks all for your input. Ya Carey there is nothing happening at 4:00 that isn’t happening other times of the day. It is very odd that ectopics pop up then. I could be sitting still or walking. But I do those things at other times of the day. I’m slightly less active in the afternoon but that’s about it. But I don’t get them while laying in bed at night watching TV, or as I lay there in the mornby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all. I know I've touched on this a little before, but I'm now two years out from my ablation. I have never been back in afib since, but I still tend to get 4-5 ectopics per minute around 4:00 - 7:00 pm most days. I coul dbe at work, just sitting at my desk and they will start. In the mornings, I have the stress of getting kids to school, an early workout sometimes, or some days Iby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Was thinking it could be the case. They asked me if I wants the flu vaccine at the same time and I thought to myself, that’ll probably put me in afib. LOL. Either way I declined as I’m scheduled to get it at work in a week or so.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
50 years old and had to get the shingles shot this year. Got my second shot yesterday and I feel pretty good other than a lot more ectopic than average. Periods of calm and then periods of 5-10 a minute. Annoying. Anyone else experience this?by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteKleinkp 14 months post ablation. I have weeks with nothing then a few days to a week of sporadic ectopics. No meds of any kinds. I'll get runs of 3 or 4 a minute for a couple hours then quiet then it will pick back up few hundred daily during a run. Nothing compared to the 7k daily during 1st 6 months post ablation. I think you and I have shared very similar pre ablation episodesby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm almost two years out from my afib ablation. The last six months have been pretty darn good. No meds and no afib since the procedure. But I do have a bad week here and there, when I'll have a number of ectopics for a few days in a row. Not runs of them, just random ones. Do others have bad weeks or a few days like that. I waited 12-14 months post ablation to stop Flec. I just couldn't bring myself to do it since every time I tried I would feel more ectopics and a little unsettled. At about the year mark I did get a sense that my heart had more fully healed. I know that's a very long time but it's just how it worked for me. Ectopics were getting less and less even on Flec. So I stopped about that tby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
No matter the dosage? How much were you taking? I'm no doctor, but I have moved my own dosage around between 150mg and 50 mg a day with my EP's OK within that dosage window. I take it some days if I'm feeling a little jumpy. But only 50mg to settle me down.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mine kept me on Flecainide for three months for just that reason, but I went longer because I wanted to.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJaydee212 If u have even one "standard" drink, that alcohol could be the trigger that you do not want. And re. diazepam and other similar drugs, they DO INDEED help me a lot; just a fraction is all I need usually. It would seem that the afib begets stress and the stress begets afib, so taking a calming agent short circuits all that. Best of luck! I am 77 and I know how disconcby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteMuntz You are all so brave and give me hope. I've had ectopics since teens but usually 100 or so a day. First Afib in 2006, converted within a few hours. Second afib 2018, converted on it's own within 8hrs. Third afib yesterday which converted within a few hours. I take Eliquis and Metoprolol daily. That's the way I see it too Vanlith. I can always go back. My doctor pretty much gives me full jurisdiction to self medicate with being on or off one/both the meds I'm on (or was on). I'd say I get more ectopics now, but agree again they aren't as scary as what I've had in the past. Can deal with them. I really do think these ectopics can take a year or more to settleby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
You're still early in your recovery. Others will have to confirm, but I wonder if your heart could still be pissed from the procedure and PVCs are the result. Different area of the heart, but still stress on the organ. I had terrible ectopics following my ablation (no sure if they were atrial or ventricle). Lasted for months. Had a PVC ablation 2.5 years ago, and then an afib ablation 18 months ago. I never fully got off my meds because I just felt more settled on 25 mg of Metropolol and 50 of Flecainide each day. I had tried to go lower but would start to get ectopics. They have plagued me since the second ablation. Anyway, two weeks ago I just decided to stop it all. Leading up to my ablation, I was about the same frequency of episodes as you, about twice a week. Very stressful, so I was very eager to have the procedure. Been about 14 months and have not a had a single afib episode since the procedure. What I did have for a long time was lots of ectopic extra beats. And I mean a lot. My ectopic burden remains notably lower now three - four weeks after starting Aswagandha. Not eliminated, but lower for sure than in months past. Workouts are much less plagued by random ectopics, even when I work out in the afternoon which tended to be a tough time for me. It's worth a try in my opinion if you suffer from adrenaline or stress related ectopics, or even ectopics at certain tiby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM

Probably been covered multiple times, and maybe it's snake oil, but it worked for me. I've had very bad bouts of ectopics since my afib ablation (a year ago). Had PVC ablation a year before that. The ectopics following afib ablation have gotten better but still would creep up under stress and during exercise. I felt it was connected to adrenaline and maybe my cortisol cycle. Quotegadawgfan Well, I went back in afib three days after ablation and pacemaker insertion. Guess I was just lucky, or a lousy ablation by a very experienced EP. Knocking on wood since I've been in NSR since June. Not uncommon I hear in the first week or so.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
