I just seem more susceptible 18 days after the procedure and am wondering if out hearts are trigger happy at this point. Maybe it wears I off as healing completesby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Random ectopics during the healing process are a known thing. But do those of you who have gone through an afib ablation feel that stress and any kind of physical activity created more ectopics during the healing process?by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's a lot of PVC burden. Sucks. But during that time it never led to afib? (I'm assuming a PVC could start an afib attack) So there is some good news. The ablation seems to be doing its job. Hopefully Natale can get the PVCs straightened out and that'll help get things back in line. You're in a viscous cycle of having PVCs, not being able to sleep, and getting more PVCs asby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotelibby They poked around and burned the tissue inside you. Think about how that might feel if it was on the outside, like your arm. It would be irritated and inflamed for a while. Your heart tissue has electric properties, which make the irritation show up as jumpy muscle tissue. It will get better. It will heal. How's your diet? Read about anti-inflammatory diets. QuoteCarey That's perfectly normal and will be for a while. It's nothing to worry about and could continue weeks longer. What's more important is that the ablation is doing its job by preventing those runs of ectopics from turning into full blown afib. They’re worse than afib. At least afib was only once a month. If these all day eptopics don’t settle down soon I want my money baby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
More of the below today. Nearly zero ectopics when just sitting at my desk. If I get up to get a drink and walk some distance, by time I get back to my desk i get a long string of ectopics. I'm getting a dozen or more of them in a row. Then as I sit for a minute, they subside. Seems a bit excessive even two weeks out from ablation. Lots of people on here saying this can be normal. Anyone havby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've learned a little more about my specific ectopics. Two weeks out from ablation mind you. Zero at night while asleep or resting in bed. They fire up when I get up to go to the bathroom, or watch an action movie, or eat. But if I walk a long distance at some speed and get my heart rate moving pretty good (relatively speaking) they go away. It's like in initial adrenaline of moving orby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotelibby Your experience sounds similar to mine. The first week post ablation was very quiet. The next couple weeks I had a lot of ectopy between 10 and 12 am, even some runs. It did eventually quiet. I had a short run that scared me right at the 3 month point, but then it's been pretty darn good!! I'm coming up on two years. Things are pretty quiet. I had one maybe 12 beat fast run aby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry you’re having such a rough time with this. It is very unnerving to have your heart out of sorts. No can even understand it unless they’ve been through it. It’s all consuming for me some days. Agree you should find a new but highly experienced EP and get a new look at your situation.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Alost two weeks post ablation and I'm getting ectopics every day now. Might even get runs where there are five thuds in a row separated by the classic pause. But it only happens between 3 pm and around 9 pm. I take my100 mg of Flecanide at 6 am and 6 pm, so maybe that has something to do with it. Can't say I'm doing anything in particular at that time of day. I really think it'by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great question. Please post back if you learn anything outside the responses here. I am just a couple weeks post ablation and plan to get back into my routine. Maybe slightly lighter weight but definitely weight training and cardio. I've not read to avoid it. In fact my EP said I could start as soon as a week if I felt up to it. But I'm taking at least two months off.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Yep, all part of a normal ablation. Everyone's experiences are different, so it's neither normal nor abnormal. In fact, if you're not taking any sort of antiarrhythmic drug and you haven't had any ectopics or even full blown afib for 11 days, then you're doing great and better than most. LOL. I am on 100 mg Flecanide twice a day. Indeed, just the ectopics soby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all. One more question please for today. Yes I'm probably worrying more than I should. Eleven days out from afib ablation and I had very few ectopics up until yesterday. I have read these will die down over time, but I'm not clear if it's normal for them to start after a week. Couple a minute sometimes and then nothing for fifteen minutes. Mostly around dinner time (not dueby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Just a quick follow-up Carey. I've not read that Felcanide will lower heart rate. Have you or others found that it does ever so slightly? Perhaps enough to offset a potential rise due to the afib procedure itself. Yes, it can lower heart rate slightly. It did for me. Not sure where you heard that the increased heart rate after ablation indicates the vagus nerve was burnedby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Hi Keefer, welcome to the forum. Although an increased heart rate is typical after an ablation, lack of it isn't something I'd worry about. That's particularly true if you're still taking flecainide. Are you also taking a beta blocker by any chance? Just a quick follow-up Carey. I've not read that Felcanide will lower heart rate. Have you or others found tby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteSam My heart rate also changed little after an successful ablation. Thank you for that feedback. Day eleven and I'm getting more ectopic beats. Sort of annoying. I've read that after ten days this can happen, and then maybe slow down over time as well. I maybe get four an hour when under some stress at work. I'm trying to mitigate the stress of course.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Carey. No beta blockers. Just the Flecanide. I'm also on 5mg 2 times a day Eloquis for a month, but noting else. Have to say I really like my heart rate where it is. Just don't want it to drop further or indicate lack of burn penetration. I hear a rise in heart rate may indicate a good burn on the vagal nerve. Again, just from reading stuff.by keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello forum. Let me start by saying what a great thing it is to have a forum like this to help us through these heart issues. I've been lurking on here for months awaiting my own ablation, learning what I can, but have some questions and will endeavor to be helpful to others now that I have my own limited experience. So thank you in advance. Quick back story is I am a 49 year old male. Veby keeferbdeefer - AFIBBERS FORUM
