We, in the DC area have fared pretty well. It got pretty windy, but not howling (like past hurricanes). Driving around today in So. MD, there was very little damage. We have been fortunate, indeed.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Murray. Nancy, same here in So. MD. What they're calling for is bizarre, to say the least. Up to 10 inches of rain, and a blizzard in western Md. Who knows what the real story will be. This could be really bad or nothing at all. Keep us in your good thoughts and prayers, all. Thanks,by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diane, postural effects are something to consider. Bending over is not always an Afibber's friend. As for the bicycling, hunching over the handlebars falls into the same category.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy, Low fat dressings are notoriously high sugar. You'd be better off making an olive oil/ vinegar dressing, or you could use a fish oil/ lemon juice one. This thread talks about the recipe: If you add a bit of protein (fish or chicken etc..), it would also help with the blood sugar levels as Jackie suggested.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
I still haven't heard anything. A simple no would have been the polite thing. :-/by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
I haven't gotten any response, yet. I'll keep you posted. Makes me wonder just what they are looking for.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had surgery, with full anesthesia,( but with a Zanax before hand), to remove a tumor in my bladder three years ago, and did not have any issues, I had oral surgery a few months ago, with local and Versed, a monster version of a "pam" drug to give me amnesia, and did not have a problem then either. It did not give me amnesia, though. I remember everything, but I didn't care atby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
llois, I forgot to ask; are you taking any AADs?by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
llois, What do you mean by "the adrenaline feeling"? Anxiety? Racing heart? Jumpy? Something else? Have you had a holter or other long term monitor where your "morning heart" can be verified? I don't know if Long QT is always noticeable, or if it shows up once and awhile. Maybe others can answer this, especially if you can describe how it feels more precisby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Janet, everyone knows that hospitals are the germiest places on the planet, so it's not at all surprising that you might have picked up a bug there. The stress of dealing with Dad in the hospital could have lowered your immune system, as well. No matter what, keep up your fluid intake in order to keep from becoming dehydrated. I hope you feel better soon with no setbacks heart-wise.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Murray, I can feel my heart most of the time, even in NSR. It feels like a strong thump, thump inside my chest. I don't notice it only if I am busy doing something that distracts me. Otherwise, I'm always aware of it on some level. I have always been like this, even as a child. :-/ When in AF, I can feel it in my breast; flippity, flop, OUTSIDE my rib cage. Sometimes itby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
If you think your supplements are contaminated, take them to a lab and get them tested. The same with the dinnerware you are using. It would probably be cheaper to buy new from a source that is reliable. Chelation will only work if you no longer have a source of input. If this is dietary, or dental. From what I understand, if you still have fillings or other dental sources of heavyby lisa s - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I used to work in insurance billing for a few hospitals back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, but as of right now, I don't think things have changed too much in the US. I also handled the books during the transition when one of them was sold. Doctors/hospitals will charge what they think they can get from the insurance companies regardless of the cost of the procedure/item being bby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Elizabeth P, I also question the taurine, it is problematic for me. Mag Ox is not a very good source of Magnesium; it's better than nothing, but not much. I feel the number one thing to improve my AF situation is Magnesium Glycinate. It has improved enough that I have been able to reduce my dosage of Rythmol by half. A lot of other small variables, but the Mg is the most important Iby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM

McHale, I can only account for myself, but this site has helped me. I'm not sure that an ablation is inevitable for all of us. Obviously, I don't know the future, but my past has told me that the progression is not a constant slide towards persistent, permanent AF. This site gives plenty of good info, but as with anything else (doctors included), unless it's an emergencby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
The key is to find out what works for ourselves. Some of that is this, some that. Many of us have been on more than one AAD. Some of us none. Some of find that "this" supplement worked and some find that it was "that". I think it is awesome that this site exists so that we can tell each other this very thing. Thank you, Hans!by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Murray, I have brought this up before, but it bears repeating, LSV8 is not a food source of potassium. It is potassium chloride added to tomatoey-veggie juice. As has been posted already, It is very subject to stomach upset for both the tomato and KCl.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
It's like many things when it comes to AF: We are an experiment of one. After I discovered this site, I gave up sleeping on my left side because I thought it might be a trigger. This was a HUGE adjustment for me. Prior to this I spent ~60% on my left side, 30% on my right, and 20% on my stomach. Not a single percent on my back. My right shoulder began to ache so badly that I startby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM

Oh, Mary, My heart goes out to you. What a rough road you have travelled. In addition to the nutritional advice given already, your thoughts about going back to a "previously failed" med before committing to an ablation make sense to me. I don't know if there are studies to support this, but if it worked for you before, and it hasn't been in your system for a longby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Something that wasn't mentioned in this video is how the amount of time spent grounded affects all the health benefits. How does 20 or 30 minutes of walking "with your feet on the ground" ;-P vs. spending ~8 hours a night with a grounded sheet compare?by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Alexandra, This is a new one for me. Do you have a link for the post where this is talked about? Or can you explain in more detail what was done at the hospital? Thanks,by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jill, Ralph has a very good point about the Ativan. I have used it to stop ectopics before they turned into full-blown Afib, as well as cut short an episode once it has begun. Purely ancedotal evidence, but more than a few times it has worked for me. I don't know if it will work for you, but it is worth it, if you can get it prescribed for you. Even if it doesn't help you convby lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jill, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't convert last night. When I was first diagnosed, I was given IV mag and that converted me. My feeling is that it can't hurt. I don't know about the IM mag (for conversion purposes), but if your doc gives you the option of either, I would take them. Both, if it was me. I would not take the digoxin.by lisa s - AFIBBERS FORUM
