Thanks, Jackie. It's good to review this information once more. I myself have not found that MK-7 causes palpitations. But I find it interesting that some people do, and I wondered what the mechanism might be. Lanceby ln108 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
A recent post on the Afibbers Forum suggests a possible connection between vitamin K2, especially the MK-7 form, and heart palpitations. I myself have wondered about this in my own case. I did a quick google and there seems to be numerous anecdotal reports of MK-7 and palpitations. Here's one example. Does anyone have any intelligence on this? Any clinical studies? QuoteYuxi As for the K2, I am on the 2nd bottle of Sports Research Vitamin K2 as MK-7 100mcg, and finally realized that it causes me heart palpitations. In the beginning I thought it's because I am still in the blanking period of July ablation. Then I read Amazon reviews, some users had same issues with it and said that "MK-7 can cause heart palpitations as it has a stimulative effect&qby ln108 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Yuxi, Certainly K2 (K2-7) is essential, along with magnesium and D3. I expect you are aware of this. I don't know about calcium, but would be interested in what others might have to say on that. One fairly new approach would be to consider one's gut microbiome, an increasingly important and fruitful area of health research. As one example, there's a Swedish company calby ln108 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Joe, Good question. I'm not sure they say. Could be both less intake and poor absorption, could also involve less production, since our bodies are able, in theory, to produce some, if not enough. Uneducated guess: Probably all the above. Lanceby ln108 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Jackie, Thanks for that reference. A rich and useful discussion. I recalled that you have contributed any number of important posts on taurine, but hadn't seen that "update". Lanceby ln108 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I've just returned from a trip abroad to this very sad news. My sincere and deeply felt condolences to Judi Larsen and the Larsen family. Hans's work was a light in the darkness in my early afib journey in the mid-2000s. His legacy, as carried onward in this forum, continue to be a source of support and guidance. Thanks, Hans. Hello Andreas, I have mild pulsatile tinnitus. Normally it doesn't bother me. I can't report experience with Flecainide, but when I take Diltiazem for more than a few days, it makes my tinnitus worse and my ears very sensitive to loud or sharp sounds. Thanks for this post, Jackie, and the reminder of all the sterling work you've done on this forum over the years on this topic. OK, so I did some further research and I think I've answered my own question. I looked up nattokinase on consumerlab.com, and they have essentially the same caution, with an almost identically worded "theoretical" warning in their "Concerns and Cautions" section of their review of the supplement. Friends, This morning I was looking to see what the latest scoop on nattokinase might be. On the Sloan Kettering website, under "Nattokinase -- Patient Warnings", I read: "Theoretically, nattokinase can cause an existing clot to dislodge, resulting in a stroke or embolus at a distant location. Patients with a history of deep vein thrombosis should avoid of use nattokinase."by ln108 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Thanks, George. So the Life Extension Super K has 100 mcg MK-7, the K-Vitamins.com product has 500 mcg, the Life Extension Mega K as 45 mg. Interesting. I note that the MicroBiome Labs MegaQuinone K2-7 product, also expensive, has 320 mcg in the recommended 2 capsule daily does, along with K1 and other supposedly related nutrients. So the 45 mg dose is an outlier. All best, Lanceby ln108 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wonder if anyone has ideas about why Life Extension, the source of the interesting article Jackie refers us to, only provides 100 mCg of K2-7 in its Super K supplement (see below). But it has 45 mg in its Mega K supplement, which is quite expensive. What is a good dosage of K2-7? Is it necessary to take K1 as well? Thanks for sharing this, Dean. I'm happy for you and Tim both. I note that the study says that they used freeze-dried natto powder. Is that what you've been using?
