Carey You said the following I also don't think you need to be calling an ambulance for afib, even with a rate of 184. Nobody dies of afib. They die of strokes because they didn't get proper care for afib, but not afib itself. Which makes me wonder, are you receiving proper care? Are you seeing an EP? If so, why don't you have a PIP solution in your pocket? As you probablyby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am almost 90 years of age and I have had a garden for most of my adult life, eating many veggies fresh and freezing them. There are all kinds of things that are said on the Net, i again say it, that are not true, as proven by you, by saying what you just did.by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I am very sorry to hear of Hans' passing, he was a wonderful and helpful person. I have a couple of his books, he used to have a news letter which we could get online at his site, i looked forward to it and really appreciated Hans writings, we all learned a lot from him. Thank you Shannon for letting us know. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan is what you posted the name of the supplement? Do you get them off of Amazon? How many grams of Mushrooms do those supplements have. Hope you are doing well. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
500 grams is about a Pound, so if one doesn't eat that many mushrooms/day, maybe 1/2 that amount then this program wouldn't work?by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I live near a small town in Michigan on 5 acres, air/water is pretty clean, I am in permanent AF. You can blame the air, food all kinds of things, yet people living near you may not have AF. There are some things that really do cause AF, for me it was hyper thyroid and genetics, that is pretty definite.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well Susan since I have been getting my Xeralto from Isreal I am not spending that much, so I don't qualify for OOP. Thanks a bunch for my savings. Lizby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks George, I am doubtful now after reading that an Ambulatory BP monitor would be completely accurate. I am taking my BP at home, it isn't the same all the time, sometimes a little high and sometimes in a good range, so the one time my BP is taken at the doctors office could be high and they go by that. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: When you say Pulse wave variability do you mean the pauses between some of the beats? So this 24 hr. BP monitoring isn't really too accurate? Then what about if my BP is taken in the doctors office is that accurate? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
First of all I have been usually diagnosed as having White Coat Syndrone when I get my BP checked at the Doctors as my Systolic is usually on the high side. When I take it at home I get low readings and sometimes its higher. So my cardio wants me to get a 24 hr ambulatory BP monitor and has scheduled me to get this done in about a week. I got a "after visit Summary" paper and on itby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diana said: Good to know that hypothyroid can also lead to Afib. I guess I thought it was more an issue of being hyperthyroid. What, may I ask, did you do when you were told you had Afib? How did you manage it and what meds, aside from thyroid medication, did you have to take? Did you have to have any ablations to rid yourself of Afib? Do you continue to struggle with it? How has it impactedby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Diana: You were hyper thyroid for quite a while, how is your thyroid level now. If you were hyper it should'nt take long to bring your thyroid down. Just stop taking your thyroid meds a couple of times a week. I know how you feel as I went hyper from taking too much thyroid and it put me into 'AF. You have to keep an eye on your levels, the problem is the doctors don't wanby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
What kind of AFib is it, if a person has Afib with Normal Ventricular response. I am in permanent AF but I mostly don't feel it and my heart rate is usually in the 60s, does that mean I have Af with normal Ventricular response?by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a neighbor that had lung cancer, she had chemo, about a year later she has had 2 strokes, she just turned 60 and is in not very good shape right now. I had a pace maker installed about 20 years ago, one of the wires was put in my right ventricular which has led to Pulmonary hypertension and probably heart failure. Seems like a lot of medical proceedures lead to other problems. You migby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Pavan I thought we could give our views on AF which I did. I am 89 years old, I have a large garden, berries, fruit trees and a very large lawn to mow. I do all of this myself and like it, I have AF but I have never had a very fast heartbeat so it doesn't bother me too much. I do not like the comment that older folks self-identify with mental disorders because of AF. In regards toby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Speak for yourself Pavan.. I got AF in my 60s because of being Hyper Thyroid, than for about 20 years I got AF once in a while until I did get it more often and just went into permanent AF, I think my thyroid was again responsible for it.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
My daughter has a friend that just had a stroke, he was asked at the hospital if he had the vaccine and he said yes, so they put him on a blood thinner. If he didn't have the shot they don't. So maybe it is a good thing that a lot of us here are on a blood thinner.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hamlin might have had the condition called commotio cordis —I heard a doctor describe it and said sports players may have to wear chest protection. A player gets hit in the chest between heart beats and it stops the heart.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

"The mechanism behind how beta-carotene supplementation increases CVD risk is not yet fully known," notes Burdeos. " adequate evidence shows the supplement form of beta carotene has no cardiovascular benefit." Don't know if anybody takes this supplement but I wouldn't take it. I tried Melatonin for sleep and it kept me awake, tried it for 2 nights. Jackie has an article in the Health section where in some people it can keep you awake. She tried just a very small amount and that worked for her in getting to sleep.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Daisy: You said" (Sorry to hear that. Was the lead not placed well? So far I have not had that problem.) No, I was told that is pretty common, the doctors realize this can happen. I don't know about the new pacemakers they have today, they have thinner leads for one. Seems like you fix one problem then another one occurs. So far I am good, my EP checks me and I will be havinby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Daisy: You said you had a pacemaker implanted in 2018, I have a pacer for many years. The tricuspid valve regurgitation that I now have is severe, the pacemaker lead that was put into my ventricals is responsible for this condition, I have read this, also my doctor has also said that this has happened to me because of the inpingement of my pacer lead in my ventrical.
