Ok, new topic. Mosquitoes, we have an influx of them this last few weeks, I have been bitten on my arms and legs, they are big red and very itchy.. I have tried different things and can't get rid of these itchy bites. I have never had anything like this before, I have a garden and need to work in it and get bites. i had perioxysmal AF for almost 20 years, during that time i never took an anti-coagulant, sometimes baby aspirin. I have low platelets as well, I am wondering if the low platelets are more responsible for not getting clots and not the Natto that Jackie thinks was instrumental in overcoming her clot. Just wondering as jackie and i both have low platelets.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I take Xarelto, i like taking it once a day only. As to taking it with a "full meal" I was told you didn't have to take in a lot of food, just some food. I have been on Xarelto for over a year and I take it in the evening and not with a "full meal" I will eat a small amount, perhaps a sandwich, just one slice of bread.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey and George: The hospital that has a couple of EPs locally were talking about doing a Convergent Ablation on You Tube, that was a few years ago, don't know if they are still doing ablations that way, they said they do not use radiation. I will do some checking on an EP locally. Lby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does Natalie do convergent ablations? I guess they don't use radiation in the procedure. Anyway I read about this a few years ago and wonder if this procedure is still being done. My doctor is retiring and I have to find a new doc., they will help me and asked if I would want a Cardio or an EP the problem is that would be with U of M Michigan Hospital which is about an hours drive for mby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan: I had my pacemaker installed in 1997, the battery lasted until around 2012 and had a new pacer put in. So all totaled, I have had a pacemaker for 23 years and i have had AF during all those years, I had paraoximal AF until about a year ago when I became permanent AF. I am still going strong, so quit worrying.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Pompon You said " So, instead of having afib, which can be dangerous, one can only have ectopics. I know of people that have permanent AF and have lived with it for years and are doing ok, i had AF off and on for about 20 years before I went into permanent AF about a year ago. I didn't have ectopics, only had a few when i was in AF which usually lasted from 12 to 24 hours. ...by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey i would like to know how many of our drugs are made in this country? A lot are made in China which i don't like, we should make them here. Xarelto is made by Bayer which is a German Company, there isn't any antibody for Xarelto.by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Walt: I was on a beta blocker when i first got AF, it made me very tried and my EP believes it led to my Sick Sinus Syndrome and a pacemaker. L.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Well, i am glad you are ok, we have always been able to speak about what our experiences have been with AF, which has been helpful for most of us and we don't have to agree with everything. i take it that Trump was the President and got the vaccine as an inspiration for people to get the shot is why it was said on this topic. i have to say that for you to say because he was mentioned the&by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

The vaccine from Astra Zeneca has been suspended in France, Germany, Italy and Spain because of some deaths due to blood clots and very low platelets. The doctor in Florida died because his platelets was zero. These vaccines do not have a long study duration.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
You are a tough guy, they used to have movies of People in bathing suits diving into very cold water in the winter, they cut out the ice so that people could dive into the ice water. i dont know how long they stayed in the water, don't know if they still do that.by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
George: I have shoveled snow this year, i was dressed for it, I was ok except for my hands they got pretty cold. I cannot fathom going out there barefoot, it is a wonder you didn't get frostbite. It also depends how long you were out like that, i mean if you are out long enough you are bound to get frostbite, you are a human, aren't you? :by Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Car,ey: Thanks. Why didn't they use the dead viruses in the vaccine, is the mRNA a better way, it does sounds like it.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
. COVID-19 vaccination works by teaching your immune system how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19, and this protects you from getting sick Doesn't sound like the vaccine gives you antibodies, operates a little differently.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wasn't looking for comfort, just facts----i don't intend to get the vaccine, which isn't a vaccine it is a mRNA gene therapy. I have read about the process about which this mRNA does its work. It is about your immune system, which I have said that is why I take the supplements that i do plus I forgot to add i take Magnesium all of which is to help my immune system. good luby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan: I am a believer in my Holistic doctors protocol, i try to keep my immune system in good condition. I take vit. C, D, Zinc and vit. A. Also, I try to eat a good diet, I have lots of veggies in my freezer from my garden, make soups etc. In case of getting the virus, dr. Susan: Sorry, but Carey said NO ONE has died from the vaccine and that includes Norway/whole world, now I think that is a statement that may not be true, he cannot prove that. I have always sought the truth, bad or good.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
There are probably some bad effects from the vaccine, but are just not known, I have read of a few deaths after getting the vaccine but whether it was due to something else is not told. This doctor in Florida is a puzzle: Health authorities are investigating the case of a Florida doctor who died from an unusually severe blood disorder 16 days after receiving the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey said: There have been no deaths confirmed to be attributed to the vaccine, which is remarkable for a 160-million person trial. Folks, there are no surprises left. The vaccines are safe and effective. i have read that there are cases of deaths after getting the vaccine but nothing is being said about them by the CDC, and as far as the whole world we don't know about the whole wby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
