Actually I have to admit to a bit of sarcasm there as I don't believe ginger works for everyone or persistently. It fixes Colindo though at least for now. I am personally skeptical of most people beinge able to keep AF at bay with supplements. I guess it is possible. For me, I thought I had the beast tamed with Iodone - seemed to work for 6 mths then came back with a vengeance. And Barret tby afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Pretty dramatic conclusions. Type 2 diabetes is curable, type 1 is not. As for cancer, maybe it's preventable. Not so sure pancreatic cancer is curable too often. As for AF, does colon lead to electrical activity in the Pulmonary veins? Guess it might but how are you sure. Seems a bit extreme..by afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
For me cold feet ended up over some years as peripheral neuropathy. Circulation was fine.by afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
You probably don't subject yourself to restaurant meals" Ha, I remember when I was in my 20s or early 30s I had nothing in the fridge aka 95% eating out. Now it's very different as it probably is for most people with AF.by afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM

"A number of years ago some people here went as medical tourists to India, with a $4-5 thousand US range, as I recall. In my opinion, this would only be a good choice for an uncomplicated ablation" Right, I would go to India for an ablation!by afhound99 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

There should be a national health service, preferably more like France than Britain where the NHS is a disgrace. Articles like this in the NY Times today make me sick - sort of thing you see in the Third World. My ablation at Mass General, paid by Medicare and BC/BS Medex, added up to about $75K but as often is the case it's hard to see exactly what was really paid.by afhound99 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

..but they don't mention names! Herbal Supplements Are Often Not What They Seem By ANAHAD O’CONNOR Americans spend an estimated $5 billion a year on unproven herbal supplements that promise everything from fighting off colds to curbing hot flashes and boosting memory. Yes, I'd get a PIP - cardiologist probably if not an EP. I used 300mg Flec + 50mg Diltiziam to stop AF when it showed up (prior to ablation). For a while I tried waiting to see if AF stopped on its own, which mostly it did within 24 hrs, but then after a while I thought this is stupid - why wait and see - the remodelling effect as George mentioned, but also, who needs the anxiety? The PIP gby afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lots of ignorance out there among cardiologists. I went thru 2 who told me to 'live with it' before getting an ablation.by afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting. So if you're diabetic you can reverse it by going on an 8 week long 500-600 calorie per day starvation diet. Acording to this, low carb doesn't do the same to the same degree. But what of the effect on muscle loss ? I lsot 30 lbs a few years ago with low carb and I lost muscle in the process and that was with a lot more than 500 calories a day/ Anyway very interesting arby afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom. Yes I had that same thing happen after 4 or 5 mths or so - just once or twive as I remember. It resolved itself after some Potassium intake. Most of my post-ablation bumps like that have been dehydration. I had my one year ablation anniversary a week ago. I think it takes a year more or less to settle down. I also think that these kinds of episodes pre-ablation might have led quickly to AFby afhound99 - AFIBBERS FORUM
