I have a friend who is is useful for her. I recently asked my EP why we never tried it as I was put on dofetilide (and spent 3 days in hospital getting on it)... He said b/c it has a bit of a beta blocker in it and I don't do well with those. My friend was never put in the hospital to try it. With Solatol it is recommended but not required- I think it is smart to do hospital though. BUT-by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
when mine would never connect I called. not sure if this is the reason but they said to wet (a tiny tiny bit) where you have your fingers/knee or ankle. I just lick my finger and it is usually the bottom part that needs help. works for me but I never had interference.. just connection issuesby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuotePompon It's said it can be bad for the liver... I think tikosyn is not available, but I'm not sure about that. All HR drugs are potentially dangerous. Here we have a very good "official" (obligatory) health insurance. There are "not covered" meds, which means they are not prescribed. It does not necessarily means they are forbidden, of course, but you'by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey And he was right. It was the perfect drug for that particular circumstance. It kept me out of afib/flutter for a month with zero side effects. I know it did because I tried to stop it early, and that didn't go well. So I went back on it for another week or two and then stopped, and all was well. do you need to go in hosptial to get on Multaq?by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey She said it doesn't work as well as dofetlide (which I am on) and has a bigger side effect profile. It's true that it's not as effective as dofetilide (Tikosyn), but her comment about the side effects profile is bonkers. Tikosyn requires a 3-day hospital stay just to start it because it's potentially lethal for some people. Many people fail that 3-day trial anby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I see a lot of people use Multaq. I was talking to the pharmacist that works with our EP team because that is one we have never tried. She said it doesn't work as well as dofetlide (which I am on) and has a bigger side effect profile. Can anyone comment on that? (I have tried all the others except Sotalol- and they said that was the same as dofetilide as well.). Thanksby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN As to waiting. My philosophy has always been to minimize the amount of time I'm in afib, primarily to minimize electrical and physical remodeling that happens in afib. This is why I chew the foul tasting PIP flec. Hence I would go for an immediate cardioversion if offered.' I brought this up with my PA. She said no. But I do have an appointment with EP on Monday (Iby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM

I’m still putting burn cream from Monday morning’s ecv. hey susan- and anyone.. which cream are you using? my DERMATOLOGIST is the one that finally put me on to silver silvadene. it is prescription. QuotestrongHeart I've found expansion of ribs, and opening the lungs with breathing techniques, have helped the whole heart area and reduced episodes. Thanks. I actually just left my Rolfer a text. Quoteunangan You don't need an excuse to get one, or justify it. My hub has the Galaxy 3.. it's invaluable. It's a tool that helps you learn you! I need a 101 here. Can someone send me to a link re what the different type of ablations are? I have a cardiac history (from birth) and in persistent afib at moment (have had on and off with ECV for maybe 5 years.). I might need to think of ablation. (Am on dofetildie.. not working I guess.). thanks for all the info George and PomPon... I think we do have an older tech polar or something like that around here. It seems. I have been using the pulse ox today.. and the battery is almost gone LOL. I have only had it like 6 months.by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well booooooo I want to justify getting one LOL!! Guess I will have to think of other reasons.by bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was going to write out my history and why I am asking but I'll keep it simple ...(I did search the group and read a few other posts). does the Apple Watch do real time monitoring (can you back up and see what it was 30 seconds ago) or is it like the Kardia where you say "record now"? (I have the 6 lead Kardia). Has anyone done match ups to real ECGs with heart rate specby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I have done Rolfing for years. Helped me with so many spinal things. It is a specific type of "massage therapy". (not like relaxing more like PT.). I have had afib on and off for years. I take dofetilide but at moment is not working. (I have congenital history as well.). I went into afib last Sunday morning early. ECV at ER did not get me out. First time that has not worked. So - can someone explain the difference between this and a regular ablation? I shall go off and google. I was scheduled for an ablation in April.. I had been doing good so I moved it to Oct. Then of course-- well .. you know LOL! It is funny I dig into all sorts of info for my son's health but that takes up most my band width. I should really do more research for my own stuff. thanksby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks all.. I may not switch giving what ya'll are saying. It has been working. My one thing that is an issue is this darn hemorrhoid. tmi?? LOL it doesn't hurt but there is bleeding involved. I have been on and off and on Xeralto for several years. I am on it right now. I noticed folks on here seem to favor Eliquis. I did a little research that showed that Eliquis seems to be a little safer. Curious why folks choose one over the other. At the time I just did what the doctor said. So.. the flecanide from another country is better? how does one procure that? I have tried it and it never worked. I am currently on dofetilide but I have been toying of going off for a few reasons. Quote1ablation Doesn't appear anyone had an ablation after cabg or any other major cardiac surgeries? is your question did anyone have an ablation RIGHT after or ?? I have a history and also have an adult congenital heart doctor. QuoteCarey I wonder if you can take Spiro on and off like the Lasix. Well, you could, but that will just lower your blood volume and BP while you're taking it and the day after stopping it you'll gain all that water right back and your BP will go right back up. Why would you want to do that? IDK I was thinking how I do the Lasix on an "as needed" basis. I guess Spiro iby bettylou4488 - AFIBBERS FORUM
