Hello Jackie and anyone, I saw the following couple of days ago from Dr Sinatra. ''What supplements can, or can’t, I take while I’m on Coumadin? That’s something you want to discuss with your doctor. But, in general, don’t take St. John’s wort, garlic, nattokinase, and vitamin K at all, and don’t take more than 200 IU of mixed tocopherols (vitamin E) or 2 g of fish oil. Gentlepersons, I have read on some products with food some on an empty stomach, some articles say with or without food. Is it completely unimportant or are there more specific guidelines for best practice? Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Jackie, I am not sure whether I need more tuition or improved mental comprehension pills. I would very much appreciate you providing what you think is relevant data which I'm sure will also be useful to others ,when you have the free time. We have a large garden. What if we dug a hole and filled it with saltwater.? Not the same as the sea but good ecologically as saves the timby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Gentlepersons, There doesn't appear to be much on earthing in the forums. Dr Sinatra seems approving. What do people like Jackie , Erling et cetera think? I realise there can be no double-blind tests but it would be interesting to know of any people who think it has made a difference to them. Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Travis and Jackie, I am now always in quiet unnoticeable[ in terms of body effects ] ,silent afib which I can check with my pulse as being irregular as mentioned. Any particular PH strips ? What am I aiming for and what do I do to get there given I have a very healthy diet.? I can see the value of the cardymeter for potassium. Any point in measuring sodium .I don't use salt and haveby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
To Jackie and others, at age 80 no significant heart problems but age has its effects. BP is fine My normal pulse is 60 measured over a minute with some variation in intervals so afib. I dont notice anything apart from my pulse variation when I take it. I had just had a holter done but dont know the results. What equipment should I have at home ? Lets say a cardymeter C131 whby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Larry and Jackie, I was concerned about your mentions of Albion and magnesium glycinate. I have been taking Doctors Best for years. Any comments suggestions or alternatives ? Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Gentlemen, I thought I had written something on this but can't find it so apologies if it is somehow repeated. In heavy weight exercise I have been in the habit of breathing in then breathing out on the effort. Alternatively you could breathe in on the effort or breathe in and out without considering the effort. I mixed up about the Valsalva effect. Any suggestions? Thanksby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Gentlepersons, I met the cardiologist for the first time and respected the fact that he listened to me and answered my questions properly and pleasantly. He suggested at the age 80 and my transthoracic echocardiogram not much changed from many years ago to leave things alone as much as possible. As a precaution I'm on a Holter monitor for 24 hours. He suggested I take Eliquis asby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gentlemen, I'm confused about the best way of breathing during weight exercises. I tend to breathe in before the effort and out on the effort. Then I get confused about the Valsalva manoeuvre which has been mentioned recently. The other way of breathing mentioned is breathe in on the effort and out on the way back. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gentlepersons, I have read many times about eight good glasses of water per day. If we eat a lot of fruit for example does this lessen the need for water or 8 good glasses of water irrespective? The other question is salt. I have zero added salt though no doubt it is included in some of the things I eat but very little. I have no problems of high blood pressure et cetera. To all, I have mentioned the subject before to a conspicuous lack of interest but just for the record I will mention it again. For some years I have been following a zero diet as well as REAL CONSISTENT exercise. Zero diet simply means not eating ANYTHING that is not considered REALLY good for you . So no bread, no small amounts of not so good food. Going to restaurants is largely offby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Gentlepersons, the discussions are very interesting but my original question has got lost. I think it is an important question. The other question I asked in a separate post is about wenxin keli. It reads well in some sites but what is reality ? Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gentlepersons, There is quite a lot of material on the internet about wenxin keli and its ability to deal with afib. What does anyone know about its effectiveness and assuming some possibilities what are good quality sources? Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie George Shannon et cetera, There are lots of discussions of what good supplements to take but I can't recall any discussions on good supplements not to take with Afib. For example Doctor Sahelian says not to take tyrosine,SAM-e,ginseng amongst others. Are there any more comprehensive suggestions? Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Liz. How did you pick your doctor ? In my experience most people go on a suggestion from another doctor. There are top people such as Dr Natale in every branch of surgery. All are not created equal. In ablations most Doctors get around 50-60% success but a few get to 80 -90 %. Don't be too embarrassed to get a second opinion. Your doctor should not object. Hello Elizabeth, I replied to your post weeks later so you may not have seen my comments. I suggest you read and consider as you can get into dreadful problems without top sports medicine expert advice on your particular rotator cuff situation. Good luck Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hello Elizabeth, My rotator cuff injury history may indicate some possible lines of approach. I was very strong in certain weight exercises but never trained my rotator cuffs. I got a small tear and performed all the specified exercises given to me by a specialist. Two years later I had another pain level and the MRI showed a much bigger tear. I then searched around for who our majby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Shannon, Thanks for the very detailed information. I will know my echo heart results shortly and hope it won't be extra heart problems in exchange for a lot of cheap and ugly trophies. George, My S-CRP is 2.4 MG/L. Ref range quoted is< 5. Jackie, I take nearly all of what you mention but will look at anti-inflammatories more closely. Thanks to you all Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George for the effort in the additional detail. My pulse doesn't jump around greatly..It sounds even in one sense except beats have a little longer or shorter intervals..Mostly around 60 on my BP unit the Afib indicator flashing. Thanks to all! George, Any suggested sites on super slow to failure training ? Your advice on monitoring equipment was outside my skill set . I have nothing so would appreciate the simplest way to cover what is necessary even if costs more. Jackie any suggested sites on CRP reduction ? Hello Jackie and anyone, Recently I felt my pulse was a bit irregular going from around 60 to 80 at times. Physically I don't notice anything. I saw the heart specialist today. Gentlefolk, I remember having a spectra cell magnesium test years ago. It was a lot more complicated than a simple RBC. Assuming it is more accurate will it really make a worthwhile difference? Could my RBC say I am in the higher part of the range and my spectra cell say I'm substandard? My concern is not the absolute accuracy but whether it can change the decision-making processby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Gentlepersons, My 64-year-old partner suffers from stress with her Alzheimer's mother but is generally healthy. Keeping hydrated is a problem though she drinks and drinks water. Any suggestions? Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Gentlepersons, I had just written an additional comment on my earlier ''balance and serious risks''when I realised that one of the factors that has helped me go up from about four seconds on one leg to 20 and sometimes up to 40 seconds are my shoes. I always used to have shoes with orthotics and supposedly clever technologies. I thought I would try the close to barefootby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Gentlepersons, I haven't said anything on the subject for a while but thought the current position could indicate something. I will be 80 in November and when I started some months ago I could stand on one leg for about four seconds which apparently is average or a bit better for my age. Now I can often manage 20 and sometimes 40 seconds so improvement can be fast. It is little tby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Todd, I had a look at the exercises on YouTube and they are all fine but they generally look as if they are for young athletic people which is also fine but not the age group I am talking about.
