George, I wondered if New Century prices reflected the lab's fee for the blood draw. If so, the price is comparable to Jasonhealth.com, but on Jason it is easily understood how to order: pick available lab location, pick out tests, put in cart, then you see your total charge including the lab fee. But on New Century, I don't see a cart, they just ask you to go directly to checby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, good to know. Miss you two, Shannon & Carey, but not enough to get afib/flutter again!!! I better attend this conference to make sure I keep doing well.by Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteBrian_og One I use is Jasonhealth.com. And yes, it’s also cheaper than the lab they use. Good Lord, this one is even cheaper!!! It will just cost me $30 to get my Free T3 & Free T4 done, $17 cheaper than New Century & $39 cheaper than DLS. They also will use Quest Labs for my blood draw. This is wonderful as I am on a journey back to my best thyroid dose & now I can check mby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, This question will sound dumb; nevertheless, I am confused about what beta blockers do with regard to BP vs heartrate. During my heart troubles, I did not tolerate metoprolol, the cardioselective beta blocker. I do tolerate carvedilol (Coreg) the non-selective beta blocker & it also helps my benign essential tremor of the hands. Since I have been good with no arrhythmias for oveby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you so much George & Carey. It looks like Century using Quest is the best price & definitely better than what I used last time I did this with DLS (even when it was their special for the month). Afibbers continues to be the best support group I have ever used (I have used thyroid & adrenal groups too), but there is nothing compares to afibbers!!! Deep gratitude.by Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello, I believe someone told me about DLS labs on this site. I’m trying to get a couple of thyroid levels and I don’t know when they have their monthly specials. Are there any other labs that give good deals for patient needing to check some levels? Thank you it’s always interesting getting on here again and I get wrapped up in wanting to read so many of the posts. I have been lucky for about fby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just to add my story to this: I live with a motion type sickness dizziness every day since having one episode of vertigo on waking in the morning & getting out of bed & spinning like I was going to pass out. I also had nausea & vomiting. I got back into bed & could not move my head without feeling severely bad. It took about 10 hr for it to go away & I had taken one very olby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just wanted to ask if anyone else is possibly without a thyroid like myself who was perhaps on natural dessicated thyroid (NDT) replacement long before their afib & flutter began. Once I decided on ablation by Natale ~1 1/2 yr after diagnosis, I have never returned to full natural dessicated thyroid meds again bec drs fear return of heart problems. Actually the meds were changed before thby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM

I do wonder about all those who have not experienced afib but do have high blood pressure or other comorbidities. I do not think they are advised about the ChadsVasc scoring or the need to get on blood thinners. I have a sister with high BP problems, which I do not have, but she has not been advised to get on a blood thinner & I don't think she knows about the CV scoring system. Dby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does the Chads-Vasc score matter if you are free of afib/flutter problems?by Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey All, I have been asking questions about my "what ifs" surrounding my not being on antiarrhythmics (AAR) or blood thinners anymore, but having had a flutter episode 9 months post ablation, preparing for the possibility of what to do if I have another episode. You have helped clarify this for me about my taking Eliquis as soon as I feel another episode & to keep taking it a weby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Colindo. I have definitely heard good things about nattokinase. Appreciate your input.by Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM

Colindo, I have no idea what my ejection fraction is, nor do i know what it would mean! But I should’ve clarified to everyone that I had my ablation 8/2/19 and I am clear of the A-Fib for quite a while but it’s the flutter that has come back a time or two. Dr. Natale is fine with me being off the blood thinner and only using it if I have another episode and then for sure eventually followingby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey I asked an EP I highly respect that exact same question once. His answer was, "Why wait? Just take it as soon as an episode begins." He's right. There's no consensus on how long it takes for clots to form during an AF episode, and at least one study has shown it can be as fast as 6 minutes. Following some randomly chosen period of time to wait accomplishes nothinby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, Sorry to ask such a basic question and probably already been answered but forgotten. If one is doing well for months and has been given the okay not to do blood thinners every day, but only start one if an episode of atrial flutter feeling occurs for more than 4-6 hr, how much protection how soon does this give against a possible stroke? I will be taking Eliquis if that happens, so Iby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
I love this group!!! Carey & Shannon are the best & everyone else who gives so much too. Hello, I got to thinking about blood thinners & wondering about the details of what is really best or safest. I remember Coumadin (rat poison) that my sister was on & how I took her all the time to get her PT/INR measured & it seemed it was never on target. If it was TIAs she was having causing her dementia, they apparently did not stop because her dementia progressed & iby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi, It has been 14 months since my index ablation with Dr. Natale. Lots of times I feel racy & a little short of breath. My pulse runs high pretty often, like in the 80s. I've been sitting at the computer for maybe an hour (no activity) & I feel kind of a burning in my chest & took my BP 111/71 & pulse 82. I do not know what my pulse ran before the ablation; I did not pby Madeline - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, We have not been able to find disinfectant wipes like Lysol or Clorox brand since this began, either in stores or online. We have the small bottles of hand sanitizing spray with alcohol & lavender, but that is pricey for overall daily use. QuoteCarey 2. Do you think if I had to get ECV for flutter again, I should accept going through the ER if allowed - in order to avoid overnight hospital stay? Hi, I want to ask some things about flutter. I had atrial fibrillation. Ablated by Natale Aug 2019. Got atrial flutter about 4 months later (but I had stopped my antiarrhythmic before that). Thanks, Carey. Will do. What about blood pressure - what is considered hypertension by most ppl these days? I read in 60+Y/0 y/o, it was ok if below 140/90.
