Betty Lou, like you, I was looking forward to what others would say on this topic, and it seems strange that more folks wouldn't have some input. Hmmm. Anybody?by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

I've routinely taken Nordic Naturals omega 3 fish oils to the tune of under 1000 mg/day (a capsule am and pm). I've always watched for easy bruising as I take them, along with any other 'blood thinning' supplments, since I'm on 5 mg Eliquis twice/day. This past year my skin and eyes have become extremely dry so I'm considering starting the high quality omega 3 supplby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

I take Kal Brand Magnesium Orotate 200 mg. That's 200 mg in 4 capsules, so 50 mg in one. I've had people on this forum say the orotate form doesn't absorb well. But I've always liked it. It doesn't cause diarrhea which is nice, too. I've tried many forms of Mag. The glycinate form relaxes me too much, which figures as glycine's a relaxing amino acid. / I'by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hello, I have a friend who's 85 and looking into a first time ablation, consulting with a few local docs. One doc had told her she might be too old. My friend has always been active as a long time hiker, eats a balanced diet, and is a good weight. I thought I'd ask general opinions from this forum, knowing that it would be 'blind' and 'general' feedback. (Btw, I&by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteSdweller I'll be very interested to see how it goes off the Flecainide for you... I've been on the Flec for 3 years since my ablation, which did not work and had to stay on the Flec...everything was great until a few weeks ago, and i started having some runs of svt and a few short bursts of afib. I have a serotonin receptor genetic variant (5HT2C) along with a MTHFR genetic variant. For years I've self medicated with 1/3 of a 500 mg L-Tryptophan capule at night to increase my serotonin levels, with pleasing results. Last month I noticed it seemed to bother my heart so I stopped it. I realize that serotonin has many effects in the body, so don't want to play around with this. Bby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a Natale ablation on 5/30/23. (Regular RF with extra time spent going though the septum to other excitable tissues). No problem with recovery per se. (Had to start on flecainide & met to calm some tach). Then I had a fall which necessitated a hip replacement on July 3rd. In mid August I started a dry cough that wouldn't let up. Tests for covid, RSV, and flu all negative. Was toldby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an ablation with Natale on May 30th of this year, addressing atrial flutter. 2 to 3 weeks later my heart began days of tachycardia. I was started on Multaq for a few months which helped a little, but not enough. Was switched to 100 mg of flecainide with 6.25 mg Metroprolol (a 25 mg tablet, quartered) twice/day, and my heart has been excellent ever since. One thing I did about a month ago was take Puritan Pride's Calm Tabs (combo of 6 calming herbs) when my heart had a tachycardia/afib mix going on. It calmed my heart rate nicely. Since 5 tabs is the recommended max daily amt, I also added chamomile tea to my day. (It’s not good to overdo chamomile tea, but in the short term, it stabilized my heart rate along with the Calm Tabs). I was on Muby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had a Natale ablation 3 months ago and an unexpected hip replacement surgery 2 months ago. Currently I’m dealing with a 10 day severe cold. I’d like to saturate my tissues with Vit C, but large amts also thin the blood and I take the regular dosage of Eliquis daily at present time. Does anyone have experience with combining Vit C and their anticoagulant ?by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
On page 96 in the book The Afib Cure by John Day and Jared Bunch, MDs, they state that it’s “been shown that Hawthorn changes the heart’s potassium channels, but that there’s no studies showing whether these electrical changes make afib better or worse. When one changes the hearts potassium channels, there is a chance of causing cardiac arrest.” Their conclusion was until more studies show valuby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
Aoife5, I'm 4 weeks post my first ablation which was pretty comprehensive. (Not complicted; the doc just covered as much 'ground' in my heart as he could). I still feel the need to take it easy and this past week has seen some new symptoms of very high heart rates, for which 12.5 mg of metroprolol tartrate twice a day has been added to my Multaq to stablize the heart. On May 30th, I had a first ablaiton in Austin with Dr. Natale. I have had a light case of a-fib since 2015, but it turned into more prevalent flutter last summer. My local cardiologist who's an EP but doesn't do ablations looked at the report and said Natale covered "a lot of ground" in my heart, so hopefully, it may be a 'one and done' ablation. Time will tell. Myby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree with all the comments, but you might also want to read extensively on this forum's informational areas, especially in regards to lifestyle and electrolytes. Jake, your sustained release Mag is: Elemental Magnesium L-Lactate Dihydrate. (When I googled this I see that Walmart also offers it). Years ago I was diagnosed by a reputable lab of a MTHFR (RS 1801133/ C677T) moderate mutation of the gene.
