It is working for you George so be happy ! Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Wolfpack, I am sure if we ask a variety of cardiologists will get a variety of opinions based on their experiences with their particular clients. We should always do our best to increase our knowledge and improve our understanding of the subject. A broader knowledge base has helped me a lot and I'm sure it would help others. This is not scientific research with statisticallby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
George and others, I think we should consider the process of statistical analysis and coming to conclusions on causation. It is a long time since I got honours in statistics at university level. I haven't practised in that area but have retained an interest. I suggest a very good book to read is . I read recently that 75% of supposedly researched conclusions on causative factorsby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, We tend to associate with people of common interests and attitudes. When I asked my cardiologist some ago about fit people with afib he said It was very rare in his experience . 15 % sounds high and it would be interesting to see the detailed methodology. In any case that leaves 85 % not so fit so still very normal. If is an interesting subject. Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
George and Heather, I know there are other trim people with afib ! At the gym I go to there are quite a few trimmies. But the fact remains getting to 70 % of Australians and Americans are overweight or obese and the proportion is increasing. So exercise and really good diets are rare. It would be interesting though very difficult to impossible to do a good survey Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I know they are in nearly all our tinned foods or drinks and avoiding them completely is impossible. But is it proportionate? For example if I eat 110 g small can of mackerel each day is my BPA dose likely to be minute? The big question is in normal daily life how do we minimise our BPA load. Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I notice going through the various posts they very rarely mention a list of other important factors. The age of the person. The weight / BMI of the person or more details related to weight. Getting close to 70% of Americans are overweight or obese. Their diet in sufficient detail to get a good understanding of it. The exercise status of the people in sufficient detail to understand itby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
In one sense it is very easy. In another sense very hard to impossible for most people who have long ingrained bad diets and bad habits. Without the detail. Small fish little bit of meat, chicken .Lots of different types of fresh vegetables/fruit. Good grains like oatmeal quinoa etc in very small quantities .No sugar in the house. Healthy teas. Small servings. THATS IT , NOTHINGby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Shannon, maybe it is my lack of computer skills but I cant locate the report. Please advise. Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jackie, It was a help! Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Adrian, Tell me what you find in real life as there are so many overhyped products it becomes a problem to work out which is real and which is fantasy. Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I have read the confusing information on the various types of wobenzyme and vitalzyme so given I am on low dose Eliquis what is the least risk option ? Others I am sure would be interested in some general advice. We haven't time for long term experiments ! Thanks Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree with looking at the supplementation and medical approaches to arthritis but feel without knowing the exact proportions that very little attention is being paid to physical and exercise solutions. I understand that physical and exercise solutions require much more effort than supplementation or injections but can certainly help and in some cases as in mine completely solve the problems.by alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Ilme will try anything but the Alzheimers is advanced. Wont do any harm! Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I agree with Ken ''managing weight is not all that complex ''but moderation can be a problem as it is rubbery. I have never been a smoker but I am told most people find it easier to give up rather than cut down a lot consistently. Nancy Reagan had a drug solution "just say no". That's my sugar solution . Sharing meals and having a doggie bag reducesby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have just written some posts about exercise and diet which should have been in this forum. My partner's mother has Alzheimer's and apart from helping where I can I have done a bit of research. The official figures say 43% of Americans between 75 and 84 have Alzheimer's/dementia. I am 81. It drops to 38% over 84 presumably because of deaths. My partner who is a lot yoby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I completely agree about the importance of diet. I have mentioned my practice of a zero diet at various times previously with a lack of comments received. It's very simple ,only eat a very wide variety of foods that are authoritatively recognised as very healthy. No demon sugar in the house for example. My only weakness is an occasional rectangle of 90% chocolate. No cheat days etby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
When I talk to people even those very much younger than my 81 years I don't talk about exercise unless someone asks me. It offends people and sometimes it offends them after they have asked me because I haven't got the suggestion of doing practically nothing or some good pills Of course you have to adapt to any problems you have and be sensible but for the great majority this means dby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
At age 80 I had knee problems when walking downstairs etc. I had Synvisc injections by a sports medicine doctor and the major effects were depleting my bank balance a little. I am a consistent exerciser so decided to try other approaches. I bought a foam roller and used it for the knees particularly the right one which was my main problem. Is it worthwhile to take a small amount regularly as standard practice to help improve alkalinity ? If so what is a suitable amount without going into complex issues ? Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thank you Jackie for your informative and as usual very well researched reply. I will apply much simpler tests, 1. you don't appear to take it. 2. I take so many different varieties of supplements that people are shocked . . 3. When there are contradictory opinions from apparently well informed sources I would be staring at my zeolite wondering was it a beneficial one or a potentby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
There are so many apparently wonderful supplements why are so many of us sick ? Anyone with zeolite knowledge ? Does it do something useful and if so how to take in conjunction with multiple small meals and a lot of supplements ? Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks Jackie, My ferritin is 88 n/mL which is on the lower side. Whatever I do I wonder if I should be doing something else ! Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I should have mentioned supplements as well in my subject line. Sorry! Alexby alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am 81 and the only medication I'm on is low dose Eliquis 2 1/2 mg twice a day. My a fib is completely unnoticeable to me at all times but can be seen on equipment or when checking the pulse . Somehow it always comes out to around 60 in an actual minute unless I am doing something strenuous. What does that mean I should do about blood thinning foods or supplements? For example garlic,by alexe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I accepted Jackies recommendation and changed to Cardiokinase . I am puzzled about the directions to take with food while other nattokinase products say without food. What is the explanation ? Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hello Larry, Thanks for that. What's the detail? How many should I take immediately I am showing symptoms or whoever is with me rams them down my throat. Then rings whatever is the operative emergency number in the country in which the sufferer resides. Hoping no one will have to make that decision. Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hello Larry, I missed your reply. I may be ignorant but what is regular ASA ? Thanks Alexby alexe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
