Sorry, Lisa, yes I realized what you were talking about after I posted. No I am not on any medication.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm using diet (yes, William, it isn't easy) and supplements because my afib doesn't affect my life right now. If I can keep it from causing any harm to my heart (I have no other heart issues or medical issues) and keep it from progressing, I can live with this. I have an irregular heartbeat 24/7, but when I stick to good food and my supplements (The Strategy plus CoQ10, Vit D, Fby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, mfcw. I know a colonoscopy is for cancer screening. My doctor told me if it was good I wouldn't need one for 10 years, so I am due anyway. RonB says "clean up you gut" to cure everything and my question was how do I know that is MY problem when I have never had any problems with indigestion, IBS, GERD, bloating, etc. etc. etc. Lousieby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Colin and Afhound!! Ginger it is! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is a colonoscopy the only way to check colon health? I have an irregular heartbeat 24/7, with occasional ectopics for maybe 10 minutes. I admit to having a typical American diet and am working on it (I think I would do better if I lived alone and never socialized!) But I have never had problems with constipation, diarrhea (except with too much magnesium), IBS, etc. I am and never have been ovby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have opted for Nattokinase based on the studies shown on this site PLUS my own personal situation. I think anyone would benefit from cleaning up their diet (mine is certainly not what it should be; but I continue to improve it little by little) but I also do not think "one size fits all." RonB, what are some of your suggestions for "cleaning up the gut?" Would you suggeby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all for your responses. LarryK, in what form do you take ginger?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Murray. It seems to be a common female thing. My husband also has to have his feet uncovered to sleep! I'm sure you are right in that I should get a blood test for viscosity. My annual physical isn't until February, though; I'm thinking of getting one at "Request A Test." Of course, I posted the message yesterday and this morning did not have the problby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
For the last week, off and on, I have been waking up with very cold feet. I mean I have to get up and put 2 pair of socks on and put a heating pad in the bed on my feet. I am very aware that the rest of my body isn't cold, but occasionally feel a slight, momentary chill. My hands are sometimes cold, but not like my feet. The obvious reason to me would be poor circulation. I am very acby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM

Gary and Lynda, How long did it take to get your monitor. I actually got as far as downloading the app, but AliveCor sent me an email to click on the "Buy" button. I then emailed my sponsor at eHeath and have not heard from her. I did the survey 3 weeks ago. Thank you! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe, I have never been in the hospital for afib. As I said in my post, I was put first on Metoprolol and then Multaq, but went off both of them because they didn't make any difference in my heart rate, so why take unnecessary medication? I really don't know if I have, afib, aflutter, etc. It is all very confusing; BUT I do not have any other heart disease/condition, so I am willinby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Joe, I am a 64 year old woman and was diagnosed with afib in 2010. I have an irregular heartbeat 24/7 and have most of the time since I was diagnosed. I have no other health issues and have had good results from echo cardiograms (the last one in June of this year.) I had always been an active runner, weight trainer, etc. until 2006 when I had back surgery for spinal stenosis. It was a sby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you for the info, Gary. I'm not surprised about the doctors. Think of all the office calls and EKG's they wouldn't be able to charge for if you had someone else to read them for you or you learned (heaven forbid) to read them yourself! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hopefully, websites like this one, which give us the opportunity to be our own health care advocates, will become more and more used and people will begin taking more responsibility for their health. If there is an upside to the turmoil in the medical community caused by Obamacare, it may be (long term, that is) that fewer people will go into traditional medicine (find a problem and drug it!) anby Louise - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thank you, Gary. I finished the survey and then had trouble downloading the app to my phone. It finally downloaded but the activation email was "no longer active." I got several and clicked on the link, but I don't think it actually finished activating. Did you get an email confirming shipment? I will keep trying. I am happy to be part of this study. Jackie, thank you so much. It was actually me who asked about the timing. I believe I sent you a PM for the email. (I've never done it before, so I will see.) Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
For the past week, I have had diarrhea off and on all day (small amounts). I have not changed my supplements. I did travel and for 5 days was in the midwest (I live is SoCal) so the time was off and I know my supplements were often not timed correctly. Then when I came home (after only 5 days -- just enough time to adjust to midwest time) it was time to turn the clocks back. For the life ofby Louise - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie, I believe in another post you said someone made a Nattokinase product that could be taken with food (but you still took yours without, just in case there might be an absorption issue.) I have searched online, but every one says to take on an empty stomach. I have no problem taking my morning pill and night time pill without food. It's easy to wait an hour before eating in the moby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Below is a link posted by Jackie recently regarding a proposed bill to regulate supplements. Although the above indicates a need for regulation, I agree that the stupid government should not get more involved. It seems the FDA is already involved and we can see how that's working. I agree with industry regulation, but oppose this bill. Louiseby Louise - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I am wondering if an increase in magnesium tolerance is an indication that it is being absorbed at the cellular level. My last CBC (taken as part of my annual exam -- not by a cardio) showed my potassium was low (not mentioned to me by my Dr.) but magnesium is not even included in the test. My next exam will be in February and I will ask that it be included; although I have been taking it and uby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Can I take ibuprofen from time to time for aches while on 3x/day Nattokinase? I know ibuprofen has a slight blood thinning effect, but is not recommended as an antiocoagulant. If I'm not taking it daily, I would assume it would only contribute slightly to non-clotting. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jackie, I have heard and read a lot about coconut oil being used for Alzheimer's Disease and wonder what your thoughts are. Dean, you said you have been afib free for 11 years with no ablation. I am curious if you had lone afib, how long you had it and how you got rid of it. I apologize if you have posted it before -- I did a search of your name, but didn't find a post of "your story." Thank you, Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM

Marty, I agree that anything "natural" to help afib is something I would stick to and I'm glad your chiropractor and enzymes have worked; but does diet work that fast with regard to effecting afib? I know a change in diet is mandatory if you have GERD, IBS, are overweight, etc., etc. and would probably show pretty rapid relief for those conditions; but I thought "giving upby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
