Larry, I too have just started drinking fresh ginger tea made from shredded root. I don't have morning flutter, but do wake with cold feet. I haven't seen results yet, but realize that I should probably be taking it closer to bed time. I take Nattokinase and Taurine just before sleeping and I don't know if drinking Ginger tea still constitutes an "empty stomach." Doby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kittymama, Congratulations for keeping your journal. I don't have bouts of afib -- I just have an irregular hb all the time, but every once in awhile I get "hard" beats, never too rapid. I have kept a journal; but, alas, I have found after many months that nothing seems consistent. I am drinking a cup of coffee (which I have mostly given up) and my heart is calm and quiet; althby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone here for sharing and supporting. May we all make new discoveries and hear more successful stories about how to get in and stay in NSR. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Shannon, for, as always, providing a clear picture. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Colin, I'm curious about the different brands of ginger. Which ones do think work -- also, if you were afib free and attributed it to ginger, why would keep trying other brands? Also, which ones do you believe clearly don't do anything? Thank you! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Shannon, With regard to your statement "For the average Afibber who doesn't really need to be on anti-coagulation to begin with, its a perfectly good approach to insure added safety, if they are careful to take a verified solid brand of Nattokinase at 100mg dose taken three times a day, once every 8 hours, to insure 24 hour coverage" Please comment on this post by Jackiby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, Thank you so much for your very clear descriptions. Very, very helpful. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all! George, thank you for the breakdown. I do look at the glossary for definitions; however, when I read different posts people seem to describe or refer to situations differently. Jackie, once during a discussion of blood thinners you asked why I was put on one in the first place and was I diagnosed with afib. I was, after wearing a holter monitor for 24 hours. The summary wasby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
After reading so much I am still confused. It seems that afib is separate from irregular heartbeat, tachycardias, brachycardias, PVCs, PACs, etc. Is there a clear definition of lone atrial fibrillation?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Murray L, I have never had my left atrium measured. Is it a given that with continuous afib that it gets larger? What are you doing to shrink it? Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
After reading this I looked at all my supplements and was disappointed to see that Jarrow and Doctor's Best do not have a USP or GMP stamp on them. Surprisingly, the 2 I get at Costco (Kirkland brand) do have the USP stamp. NOW brand has the GMP. Jarrow and Doctor's Best say "Guaranteed Quality, Laboratory tested" on them, but I'm not sure what that means. It's tby Louise - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
TomB, I agree. I am 64 and since I turned 30 all I heard was calcium, calcium, calcium. Now it turns out I probably took too much. But that's why I like this forum so much. All that information comes the AMA, who we are to believe "know everything." I think back in the day of "Dr. Welby," people didn't rely on doctors for every little ache and pain, givingby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Very good, Randy. Thank you for a morning smile! Best to you this holiday season. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have seen this referred to many times with regard to long-term afib. Is this something that would show up in an echo cardiogram -- in the same manner as a PSA test for men or a mammogram -- showing a difference from one year to the next? Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
What I have read, and practice, is "with food" means right before or during a meal. "Without food," means to take it 2 hours after eating and 1 hour before eating. I try to stick with this religiously, but I have also read that 1.5 hours after would probably be ok and 45 minutes before as well. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Rosie, I take 450 mg of magnesium orally daily and I also rub magnesium oil into my skin. I have not had tests done (this is totally financial for me -- I would love to get an EXA test, but...) Anyway, I am certain that the magnesium oil is getting into my system. I saw an almost instant (couple of days) improvement in the bursitis in my shoulder. I actually rub it into my shoulders and loby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
McHale and Jackie, I am very interested in McHale's comment about Taurine. I am taking 3000mg a day as part of The Strategy; but I had never heard about it's ability to excite. As I have stated before, I have an irregular heartbeat 24/7 but most of the time I don't notice it. When I am "aware of my heartbeat," I assume that is when I have ectopics or rapid heart rate.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mchale, have you read any of the studies posted here by Jackie on the effectiveness of Nattokinase? You are calling it "nonsense," but is it nonsense that there is no antidote for Pradaxa? I'm very sorry for your experience in having a stroke, but the evidence is strong for Nattokinase dissolving clots and preventing them by keep platelets "slippery" so that clots cannoby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ronbn49, could you answer my questions above about bentonite and probiotics? I AM interested. For those of you who feel you must be sarcastic, this site is for people to share information and their experiences. It sounds like Ronbn49 has something to offer and to those of you who do not agree with him, you could possibly just go to another post that interests you and not just put his suggeby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've read that lemon water alkalizes -- since I drink a lot of (hot) water, should I put lemon in it? Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Jackie and Sam. Sam, I usually take all supplements with warm water. I'm probably fine, it's just that my radiologist said it is "very common" to see undissolved capsules, so I sort of panicked. Lousieby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ronbn49, what do find is the easiest bentonite to take -- liquid or powder mixed with juice? Does it matter? Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Ronbn49. I will look into the bentonite. What probiotics do you use?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I think everyone would be interested in a "sure thing." I believe you have posted before to "cure your gut, cure anything," maybe not in those exact words. I am certainly open to hearing your story. I think I asked you before how I would know to cure my gut when I don't have any gut issues, and never have (at least not obvious ones, such as bloating, GERD, IBS, constipby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, thank you. If you're taking 24+ a day without a problem I'm probably ok! I take Jarrow Taurine, which is a gelatin capsule, and my Nattokinase is a veggie cap. I was just concerned that I had been taking these supplements for months and they were not getting into my system! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
"After 3 months of taking say 6,000IUs get another blood test. the easiest way to do this affordably without having to run to your doctor every 3 months is to order the finger prick Vitamin D3 test from ZRT LABS. This is a very reliable kit and requires no doctors prescription and no doctor visits for monitoring. Some of the supplements I take, such as Nattokinase, are in capsule form. I was with a doctor friend (radiologist) who told me that he is consistently seeing undissolved capsules in peoples intestines when reading film. That would mean that whatever was in them is still there! Does anyone know of a way to tell what capsules are made of and if they are guaranteed to dissolve? This was actualby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
