Hi again Ingrid, I suspect I probably had AF when I was in my 30’s but always diagnosed as anxiety. Officially diagnosed when I was 60. I take Metoprolol a BB, but very small dose, and Eliquis which I’ve been taking for around 5 years I think. Because of neurological condition I don’t do well on drugs so only take what I think can give me some control. I also take Taurine, Magnesium, Potasby JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Kate I've had an extremely stressful life, and I know now it was probably to blame in part, for my AF. Thinking back over the years as a young girl and then as an adult, I recalled countless occasions when my heart was racing at a hundred miles an hour and I was dizzy and fatigued with chest pain etc. I was always told I suffered anxiety and nobody ever checked my heart or BP, justby JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jackie I wondered where you were. Missed seeing your posts. Sorry to hear things have been a bit haywire but good to hear your heart behaved itself through all the stressful events. Wish I could say the same for mine It's become a real trigger over the last year. Any type of excitement etc and I've just got to cross my fingers I don't go into a full blown episode. Hopeby JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM

I'm also with you vagally ...I am 99.9% sure it's what affects my heart rhythm and sends me into AF. A few months ago I had a Gastroscopy and I told the specialist I was concerned about damage to my Vagal nerve as I believed it impacted on my heart. He basically said "rubbish" in a roundabout way. Since the procedure I have had a sore chest, an intermittent cough and increby JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’d rdather listen to Dr Joel Khan. He’s a Cardiologist and a Vegan. Don’t really follow Dr Sinatra’s ideas...and the constant sales pitch for his supplements and books.by JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM
Liz I’ve been a Vegetarian for 50 years. We take D3 because most of us don’t get enough sun. I am a vegetarian...I eat no meat whatsoever. It has nothing to do with my AF or triggering it. You cant "just eat" vegetables to be a vegetarian...you have to follow a nutritious diet plan. If you don't know how to follow a plant based diet buy some good books. How to Be a Healthy Vegetarian is a start. I take a lot of supplements so I split them up into a couple of doses over the day I’ve never separated them from my prescription meds. I don’t take much in the way of prescription medication just Eliqus and also Metropolol as needed.by JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kate I know the feeling of doom and still suffer it occasionally even after 15 years of AF 4-5 times a month. I usually feel that way when I have a particularly difficult episode with severe chest pain and dizziness and very high HR - >180. If the episodes are "quieter" I'm not so stressed. My strategy when I feel that way is to self talk myself, I tell myself, "reby JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM

I’m surprised at some of the responses to what is about being proactive and looking for the best possible treatment and outcomes for oneself. Wolfpack and Carey’s comments are just common sense. If you don’t look out for yourself who will. Having an ECG Is cheap and non invasive and just may save your life. Taking two a day is now simple...in the past I could forget the second one. Now I have two small neon coloured containers which I keep om my benchtop near my jug with my morning and afternoon pills. I also have a selfie of myself in the throes of an AF episode on my fridge door, at eye level, with a little comment on it... TAKE YOUR MEDICINE. Don't know if this helps, but prior to getting an episode(and I get them often, super fast and extended periods) I feel "strange" bit depressed, bit moody, tired, bloated, just out of sorts, and a bit anxious. I don't think AF immediately, more... what the hecks wrong now. This can be for a day or two. Then bam, I go into AF with all the associated symptoms I get, like nausby JoyWin - AFIBBERS FORUM
