Shannon, sbeckermd already has a slow heart beat (40-30 bpm), what effect do you think Diltiazem will have? Ginger capsules may be safer. Ginger has a similar effect to that of verapamil. Quote. Hi all, thanks for your replies. I think I can conclude and say that the chest trembling is a rare side effect of arrhythmia drugs. The common thread is, when you stop taking the drugs the symptoms go away. My doctor said he thought It must have something to do with chest muscles reacting to something, but he didn't know what. Shannon, If I get these tests done and the results indicate I do have symptoms of transient spikes of hyperthyroidism, what would be the likely remedy? Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tsco, you describe the sensation well, its much like what I experienced. Jackie and Shannon, Thanks for your reply. You could be right. I never thought chest trembling was a symptom of transient spikes of hyperthyroidism, which in turn triggers my Afib. I ask, why don't the doctors know this? To be fair he did do a thyroid test, which indicated normal function. I don't thiby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Shannon, Taking ginger, saw a big improvement in regard to Afib. Flecainide was definitely the culprit. After a month of stopping it the trembling almost disappeared. I read that Murray L experienced trembling in the chest cavity, while taking his medication. I was hoping He and others would comment on there experiences. Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is this a common side effect of arrhythmia drugs? I experienced trembling in my chest cavity while taking flecainide, it happened when I was just going to sleep and at worse would wake me three or so times during the night, and again just as I woke in the morning. This was the main reason I stopped taking flecainide. I was also concerned when I found out from this forum I should have been taby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
All ginger capsules are not the same, I have been a guineapig for 18 months trying all sorts of ginger and have found that Now Foods, Ginger Root Extract, Standardized to min. 5% Gingerols, is one that works the best, for me at least. I have been Afib free for five months and last year I had six afib events, reduced from three a month. I also take magnesium, fish oil, and curcumin. Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
I thought this Reuters report would be of interest. Could these storms also influence Afib??by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Duke, If I remember correct you are an exerciser who runs 3 miles each day. Have you tried not doing that? GeorgeN would be best to advise you, I think. Also you might try taking ginger capsules, one with each meal and one before bed. You can get it from the vitamin shop. Hi Ron, I have cold extremities and some times hard heart beat. I cure it by taking ginger. I know you have tried ginger before without any benefit, but have you tried taking a larger amount, like 1 gram twice a day. I would suggest New Chapter Ginger Force, you can get from the vitamin shop. Thanks George, I read your post as 1 hour a year = 0.01% and therefore 0.1% would be 10 hours. Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Dirk, You say your Afib burden is less than 1% per year. Can you explain that further. From GeorgeN's post I gather that's only 10 hours a year. That is not a lot and may be cured by taking additional supplements like ginger and curcumin, have you tried these? I had some success with ginger last year, reducing my Afib burden from three events a month to about five a year. Lasby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Shannon, I went to place an order with iherb through the vitamin shop and didn't receive an extra 10% discount, any idea why? Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Eric, Try taking a ginger capsule with each meal . www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Ginger-Root-Extract-250-mg-90-Vcaps/597 I suspect your Afib could be stress related as you are expecting a new child in your life soon and ginger may not be as helpful. I assume you are taking the supplements, magnesium, omega 3, etc. Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, I think a copy of your reply to Mikej's post should be given to every new Afibber who joins the forum, I agree with you 100% If only we had our nutritional deficiencies remedied at the start of our Afib journey, a lot of us would be cured by now. Colinby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM

I too found ibuprofen to be helpful. About 2 years ago I had bursitis of the elbow and was prescribed an antibiotic, Losec and ibuprofen which I took for seven days. After that I didn't get Afib for six weeks. I think taking the anti-inflammatory Ibuprofen helped in this case. I now take ginger extract, its anti-inflammatory effect is the same as ibuprofen.by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Colin, I'm curious about the different brands of ginger. Which ones do think work - I have had success with Lifestream brand which is a local supplied product (New Zealand) and not available from iherb, I also use Now Foods, Ginger Root Extract, available from the vitamin shop. I take two Now Foods capsules (250mg each) one with breakfast and one with lunch and 1 Lifestream (1000mg) withby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jackie, As you know I have been taking ginger all of this year and it has helped a lot in reducing my Afib events. I have had long periods being Afib free, three and four months period, it seems I get Afib when I change brands. I am still testing different brands and the amounts. Some brands are not effective at all. I now take 2000mg of ginger extract a day. 500mg with breakfast andby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
