I am doing good. My resting heart rate is in the low 60's sometimes high 50's. I am still on Multaq and 12.5 mg ER Beta Blocker. I get tired rather easily but that is getting better also. I have had no significant incidences; so far smooth sailing. I am taking it easy for approx. a month. I am walikng, getting outside but being trying to be "smart" also. My Ablation with Dr. Natale was Feb. 27 in Austin Texas. So far for me all is going well. I enjoyed reading your post. Did you get the Medtronic monitoring device implanted in your chest? I did and it is something; everything is wireless and automatic. Thanks for sharing! This website brought me to Dr. Natale and I am so thankful for this.by smackman - AFIBBERS FORUM
Finally made it home yesterday around 2 PM. All is going well. The only "hiccup" I have had so far was day one approx 6 hours after the Ablation. My throat was soar so I started eating ICE to sooth the irritation. After a few minutes of eating ice, All at once my heart rate went from 80 to above 170! Scared the hell out of me. It took approx 2 hours but the heart rate came back downby smackman - AFIBBERS FORUM

This afternoon, I was washing my truck and my Heart Rate shot up . I went in the House checked my pulse and it was 150 bpm. Now I have never been that high without a AFIB episode.I got relaxed and laid down. My Heart Rate started coming down slowly. That was 6 hours ago. Now my Heart is doing fine. Well, I am still in NSR; Also my heart rate has not increased after 4 days of being off Multaq. This morning my heart rate wasd actually 55 bpm. I read on the website that Multaq decreases the heart rate by approx. 10 bpm. So far, I have seen no change in my Heart rate. I take my last 12.5 mg dosage of Metoprolol ER tomorrow at 7 AM then we hit the road for Austin. I am ready to get this bby smackman - AFIBBERS FORUM

I am having irregular heart beats again. I took Miralax last night. It seems that Miralax in combination with Multaq could cause Heart palpitation/irregular heart beats. The last time I had heart palpitations I could have taken Miralax then also. I have to stop my multaq 5 days before my Ablation; My Metoprolol ER 2 days before Ablation. My Question is; Will I feel a "withdrawal effect" from stopping the Multaq cold turkey for 5 days? What is the difference? Does individuals with long term persistent AFIB choose not to be Cardio verted for over a year? This is confusing to me because when I go into AFIB, It last until I am Cardio verted. I guess I am Persistent.. OR maybe I am Long term persistent because I have been in Persistent AFIB on and off for over 2 years? Confusing...... LOLby smackman - AFIBBERS FORUM

I admit my Anxiety is driven by Health issues. I actually thought I had this AFIB "BEATEN" after 18 months of NSR. After 1 year, I was off Pradaxa and Amiodarone doing great! I had a perfect stress test and I felt great. Then in Sept. last year this monster came from no where again. The wife and I was planning on arriving on Feb. 26 1 day before the Feb. 27 Ablation then staying 2 days in a hotel after coming out of the Hospital. I was asked about participating in some research by a male nurse who worked in research. He was showing me the Heart and what they would do when Dr. Natale walked in and said he would not himself participate in this particular situation himself which made it a easy decision for me.
