I am on eliquis and diltiazem. Like gloaming, to simplify my life, I take them together at 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. Unfortunately, I was unaware of an interaction. Luckily, I have had no issues.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJeff W Yes, for me an automatic episode to follow; very strong correlation and have tried it numerous times. I have allergies and went to a allergist for alternatives. He was able to help me out without impacting my afib - which he knew of. Just my take on it. Thank you for the response. I appreciate it, Jeff,by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Has anyone experienced AFIB related side effects with the antihistamine Claritin? I am doing well and do not want to “rock the boat”. Hope to get some information.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, Susan, for your response. I am sorry you usually have personal issues that you can relate to. I am glad that you always seem to conquer those!by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Carey. I will check this one off of my list.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I will be having my first TEE after my watchman implant the end of the month. I could not stay off of Dr. Google and this is the first thing I read dated April 21, 2022, “patients who have residual leaks greater than 5 millimeters across should be considered to have a failed procedure,”. Soooo, my anxiety level is high. I know there were discussions in this forum about plugs being put in for lby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan, did you check Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs? I think it might be cheaper. But then, who is the manufacturer, expiration date, etc?by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteSailorGuy1 Ablation on 6/9 and Bivalent booster and flu vaccines 3 months later on 9/7; never asked beforehand. Experienced no affects other than sore arm for a few days. Thanks for the response, I wish I had not asked about it.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Susan. I appreciate your response. I wish you well as you recover from your latest ordeal. It sounds like you are in good hands.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gloaming, thank you for replying to the two posts I created yesterday.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been following the topic “Over 2 months since my ablation” and there was some discussion about splitting Multaq . I know many folks who received a Watchman were told to start taking a half dose of Eliquis twice daily. I have been doing that. I was given a pill cutter when discharged but I know that when I cut the 5mgs Eliquis the halves are not always the same size. I just keep doing iby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
On September 29, I had a PVAI radio frequency procedure that took only 12 minutes and a Watchman implanted. So far, all is going well. I was unable to get the Covid bivalent booster prior to this procedure because the Moderna booster was not available in my area. Prior to the procedure, I asked my EP how long I had to wait to get the flu shot and booster after my procedure(s). He said 2 monthsby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have an ablation scheduled Sept. 29. I don’t have much time between now and then because we are driving to Austin.. I had not thought much about the bivalent booster at this time. I just knew I was going to get it this fall. So…..if I get it after my touch-up ablation (prior ablation was in February) and then develop AFIB, it appears I would be back at the beginning of this journey!! Iby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey, this is interesting. Checking this site has became part of my daily schedule. I don’t remember a day when there were no posts. Hopefully all hearts are behaving today and for days to come!! Sherryby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have not received any posts yesterday or today. It is hard to believe none have been sent. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can “fix” this. Thanksby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey That's not heart block but the QRS is very wide. My guess is you did accidentally double dose, so be careful with both the sotalol and the diltiazem. Don't take another dose of either one until you're well beyond the time it would normally be due. Which line/lead shows the wide QRS?by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM

“URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Ask Medicare to Preserve Your Ability to Get a Catheter Ablation.” “Medicare’s Proposed 40% Payment Cuts for Electrophysiologists Will Make Afib Catheter Ablations Hard to Get” Stop Afib.org just posted an article about the above. Quotegloaming You really ought to consider posting this separately in a new thread. Yes, it's relevant, especially to you, but it is also informative for onlookers who may have the same concerns. It's an education forum after all, where we share experiences and try to help others to make sense of what they're about to experience or what they're currently experiencing. This is such a great group. I am sure I will embarrass myself with this question, but here it goes! I just bought a Philips Sonicare toothbrush. I am reading the instructions and it says, “ if you have a pacemaker or other implanted device, contact your physician or the device manufacturer prior to use”. So, here I am taking everything literally. How does a watchman, which is implanted, relby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Yes, I've run into problems like that. Doctors are always hesitant to refill a prescription written by another doctor. But I'm confused. Your "local cardiologist" is the EP who wrote the prescription, but now she says she's not an EP? My local EP wrote the original prescription. She said previously she would see me if the need arose! But she declined toby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an ablation with Dr. Natale in February and he kept me on diltiazem. I have been using it for years. The prescription has been prescribed by my local EP. I now need a refill that she prescribed and she is not comfortable writing the refill for this because “I am under the care of another EP.” My local cardiologist will not do it because “she is not trained in EP!!” All of the Austiby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had an appointment to meet with him the day before my ablation. I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, he was not available so his NP met with us. Fortunately, though, I had a telemed visit with him after he reviewed my medical records. It was a great call and it proved to me what folks had told me……he is a wonderful, humble person!! I was told by someone at Vital Connect that the HRM I have is hypoallergenic. I sure hope it is. I will be starting it today. They seem to have a good customer service department….I will be calling them with any questions.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just got a response from a person doing the orders for these. I asked about the hypoallergenic pads and she said she wandered what the name of the company was that provided that monitor. She said Dr. Natale prefers Vital Connect and that is where my order went. I guess I will do the best I can with what I get.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Vital Connect is the company this monitor is from. It is using bluetooth. I was able to speak to Velma at TCAI. I expressed my concern. She did not mention that I could use hypoallergenic pads as you mentioned, Daisy. I am going to call her back and ask about that. Thanks, everyone, for your comments.by Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am getting my first heart monitor from the Natale team. It is to be worn for a week. I am reaching out to those of you who have worn this to see if you had any skin reaction because of the “adhesive “. I have one call and 2 emails into the person I was told to talk to, but no response as of yet. I know they are very busy. I had an ablation 5 months ago out of area. I have had AFIB episodes since the third month out. I know a touch up will be needed. I have followed the “reporting” rules I was given at time of discharge. I rarely hear anything back and I guess I am to assume no news is good news. I thought I would have more communication with the team I was given than there is. What I was told and what is hapby Pixie - AFIBBERS FORUM
