So glad to hear everything went well for you. TCA and St David's are top notch. Your experience mirrors mine for my ablation. I wish I could remember Everyone's name that was encountered that day. Started back on the flecainide today. Heart has been quiet since yesterday. Had a brief run of flutter mid afternoon. Had a busy day today. Took my son to the doctor, had a massage, went to drivers license center, then went to look at a convertible. Smoked some salmon and cod for supper. Life is good.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Late to the party as well and I see you have decided to have an ablation done. Good choice. Also, don't beat yourself up. Afib does not discriminate. I was probably in the best shape of my life when afib took me down. My first ablation gave me my life back. Then last year I attained a level of fitness that resembled that of years ago. Boom afib strikes again. I've had 2 ablations thiby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Received my KARDIA today. I love gadgets. Took my first reading so I really have no information yet other than my heart rate wa 65bpm and it feels normal. I guess the first reading has to be looked at by a doctor or something like that so I'll wait. Then I can use it at will. As to my current state I feel really good today except for the Sciatic nerve pain. We will see what happens in aby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been dealing with AFib since my mid twenties. Mild in the early days and progressed to the point I could no longer do the things I enjoyed. Im a cyclist and was racking up a out 3000-5000 miles a year. In 2009 I couldn't ride 20 miles a week so I had my first ablation done and it gave me my life back. But we all know it's a progressive issue so I had a second ablation be donby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotevanlith It's only been 11 day's so try not to take anything too seriously....early to mid. sept. is the time to start doing that i say. I'm not worried. Taking it all in stride. The fact that I converted with only the one dose of Ticosyn, and have stayed there, says something. I think.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
Its been a few days since I posted. Figured the monotony of NSR was getting boring. But we all know that the time post ablation can be anything but boring sometimes. The weekend started out the same nice calm NSR. DId some shopping in the afternoon followed by church. Then home to for a quiet evening. Sunday morning I awoke to find myself out of rhythm. 1 week since my ablation. Feeling really good. Family got home this evening and I ran out to my mennonite friends house for some home made ice cream. HEARTRAK. It doesn’t do loop recording. I just hold it to my chest and hold the record button once a week or when I have an event. I’ll start using the Kardia when I get that.by rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM
No pocket monitor. They did send home a HEARTRAK device to send weekly recordings which may be what you mean. I’m going to order a Kardia though. I do have a WAHOO heart rate strap that is Bluetooth and can link to my phone but that’s really only good for tracking current heart rate. As far as being in tune with my heart, I am too a fault. That’s basically what he said. It’s interesting to me that you were chosen to be part of then Clinical study. I was in the medical device field for several years. It’s been a nice quiet couple of days. Heart is still purring along@ 65 bpm. Messed around in the garden yesterday. Went and retrieved my 4 footed companions from the kennel today. Just got home from a friends house for dinner and ready for a quiet evening on the deck. Still experiencing some fatigue if I am up and about for too long. QuoteCarey The patients in the original clinical trials in the US were disproportionately female, so the FDA asked Boston Scientific to repeat the trial with men. It's possible that depending on where you are located that Dr Natale may have a contact near you. Your cardiologist may be able to refer you to someone as well knowing the situation up front. QuoteBrian_og A question re going out of town to Austin etc to get an ablation. Do you need to have a local EP to work with you before and after? From here on out Dr. Natale will be my arrhythmia EP. These off beats are completely normal. Even to have a brief eppisode of AFib early on is of no consiquence. However, you are no doubt really in tune with your heart right now and any little gurggle in your chest or perceived miss beat is going to trigger you emotions imediatly. It's my understanding, and please correct me if Iam wrong, the antirhythmic drugs are used to keep the heart in rhythm as much as possible during the blanking period. And if an eppisode does occur tte shorter the better. I thought this was even more important for more complex/long standing arrhythmias. The reason for this I thought is to prevent the heart from creating new pathways. Againby rocketritch - AFIBBERS FORUM

Just talked to Dr Natale. He seemed very pleased and wants to see me in 6 months. Since I am on the younger side I asked him about the watchman device.
