Jackie, Thank You! I will taper down my exercise as well as add some antioxidants to my daily regimen. I will also look into the guided meditation. Will report back soon. Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sam, To be totally honest, I lost my 3 year old son 6 years ago from a brain tumor & its the only time I feel at peace. Rby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone, It has been close to a year an a half since by ablation on 6/29/15 with Dr. Natale . I was just telling my wife that I finally feel 100% and have not had any Afib since. I am back to intense training of Insanity/P90x sometime twice per day. The last couple of evenings prior to bed I have had quite a bit of PACs. I even sent in one of my Alivecor strips to the Alivecor Cardioloby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
any updates?by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
I would say I'm back to 95-100%. I tend to over do it;like a lot of afibbers. I also have a theory that younger healthier non-symptomatic paroxysmal afibbers that feel fine are the ones hit the hardest from the surgery. Symptomatic afibbers feel better as there afib load is substantially decreased along with there symptoms. Also, if you were in good shape your conditioning can decrease ratheby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
My procedure date was 6/29/15....a little under 11 months. My only question is you said your procedure was 8 hours......I don't think I have ever heard of an 8 hour procedure. Yours should have been similar to mine at about an hour or so.by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cortisol levels are highest in the morning. If Adrenal fatigue was the issue, I would think the morning levels would be low. Increased Cortisol is usually related to stress; either physical or psychological. Give it time as I'm sure you and Shannon discussed. Take it slow as to not over do it and go backwards. Read my threads as I had a very slow recovery and at times still over do it. Fyi..by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello, Captcashew, I, too, have had a longer than typical post ablation recovery. There are many possible reasons for what you are feeling. One such theory is pre/post ablation adrenal fatigue. I would consistently push my workouts post ablation while feeling well , just to fatigue out days later. This could be from being on the verge of adrenal fatigue prior to your procedure and the surgeryby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie- I have doubled my Taurine = 4g/day " " CoEnyzme Q10= 100mg/day " " L-carnitine=500 mg/day My potassium intake was very,very low= 1500mg/day average, so I increased by adding a banana & low sodium v8 ( large) daily. I estimate about 3000 mg/day. Ectopic beats are pretty much gone. Also,by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wouldn't say that my current supplementation is fully optimized as it should be but I have learned quite a bit from the wonderful individuals here on this forum. I do take 720mg of Magnesium Glycinate, 2,000mg Taurine, 1,000mg d-ribose, 250mg l-carnitine, 50mg coenzyme q10, 60mg ascorbyl palmitate, 140mg potassium citrate w/ 70mg magnesium citrate daily. Please, feel free to evaluate andby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
It's been a while since I've posted and would like to give an update as well as ask a question. First, as most of you know, I've had some right phrenic nerve stunning after my 6/15 ablation. Recently, I believe that either it is resolving as expected or I've compensated and I'm now feeling pretty good. I would consider myself back to 100% excercise tolerance as preablatioby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
It's been awhile since my last update from my 6/29/15 ablation with Dr. Natale. As most here already know, I was having some issues during my recovery process. I have had no documented episodes of a-fib and I'm currently still taking Toprol xl 25mg per day. The lowest my heart rate usually goes is around 85. As of my last chest X-ray approximately 2 months ago ther has been no change inby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone, I just received the call that everyone that has ever battled afib dreams of.....it's ok to stop your anticoagulant. Since my index ablation 6/29 with Dr.Natale I have been in NSR that has been confirmed via my weekly medilynx strips, alivecor, and a 7 day holter. Today is a good day!! Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
It turns out my alivecor reading was confirmed by Shannon and Dr. Natale as NSR. 7 day Holter is on its way! Keep your fingers crossed.by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
My beat fluctuation (bfx) is usually very low 0 to 20 on average. I also would like to know more about it.by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
I spoke to soon! The day after my blanking period w/ not a single episode of afib/aflutter & a call out to Dr. Natale to stop my Eliquis. Aflutter via my Alivecor ( initially said normal, but was read as flutter per alivecor)....for only about a minute or so. What does it mean? Heres hoping it was a run of pacs/pvcs!!by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Thanks for the info! I will begin vit C Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, I can't remember any nail trauma, but since my overall recovery has been improving and I currently feel pretty good. .....I'm going w/ injury. I have no valve issues w/ no new onset murmurs, fever, night sweats, enlarged spleen...etc. Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Garnet, I am 3 months post afib ablation & have often felt my heart trying to go into afib ( but it doesn't ). This has decreased in frequency since day 1. Also, did you abruptly stop the beta blockers? If so, this could cause a rebound effect and account for some of your palpitations. Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Based on my own research, about 1 out of every 3 people I check have 1-2 splinter hemorrhages. Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good afternoon, Does anyone have any information regarding splinter hemorrhages. I have 2 on my right hand & am wondering if i should be concerned. Also, have you experienced these yourself. Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, Congratulations it's well deserved. Ronby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Texas Arrythmia just called and said that my strips show NSR. Rby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks everyone for your valued input! I really appreciate it and am glad I have all of you with me on my journey. I had a couple more inconsistencies on the iphone apps ( heart rate monitor, & stress doctor ), with rates up to 180. I am not giving them any weight at this point and have sent in a couple of medilynx strips to Dr. Natales office for review. I also, get my Alivecor this eveningby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone have any thoughts on the heartbeat pulse wave graphs that are generated using your smartphone camera? When I take my pulse these graphs often look like the worst ekg you could ever imagine, I then check my pulse and it feels regular as far as I can tell. Something similar happened today while on my elliptical. My rate went from 110 to 50, it was 117 on the iphone. Of course I'mby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ted, I would say my lung function is 8/10, as I haven't done any hard cardio sessions since prior to my ablation. I feel that I'm breathing fine with a little aching under my right rib cage, and haven't had any actual pulmonary function tests to quantify true lung capacity. Although my incentive spirometer volume exceeds my predicted maximum by up to 20% using a height/age nomogby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Finally! 6 weeks post ablation, and i am starting to feel pretty normal again. I have had more energy and just feel more like my old self. Resting heart rate has been 85-95 on lopressor and I think it's creeping down already. Have had some kind of activity past couple of days with rates up to 130 then down into 70s and all over the place ( noticed while walking on the elliptical and iphone hby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Day 39 post op Ablation; I went to my local EP yesterday who confirmed Sinus Tachycardia.....I have not had any documented AFib since my ablation. My heart rate remains elevated at 100-115 resting & blood pressure has been up as high as 150/105. I started Lopressor 12.5mg twice daily( for rate control ) & have begun taking Losartan/ Hctz 50mg/6.25mg daily ( for blood pressure control )by RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wouldn't an elevated non-functioning right diaphragm have been apparent while phrenic neve mapping was performed during the superior vena cava isolation? Rby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
5 weeks postop; I am feeling a little better, but remain often fatigued. So far, I have had blood cultures, blood work, 2 chest X-rays, and an echocardiogram. The blood cultures were negative, all blood counts were normal, chest X-rays as above, echo normal w/ EF of 70% and minimal atrial dilation. Is atrial dilation normal in the blanking period as most don't get a follow up echo so soonby RonM - AFIBBERS FORUM
