I am slowly approaching this state, even though it is possible to just gobble it down after processing it in the Vitamix, but I also think it messes with my LPR and my gut in generalby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks. I am just wondering how anyone can eat between 1 and 2 pounds of mushrooms a day. I can't manage more than 1/2 pound a day and even that causes gut problemsby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello, I am following Steve Carr's protocol (eating a pound of mushrooms, increasing my vitamin D). Today I just wanted to double check his website, but it looks as if the site does not exist anymore. Does anyone know what happened to him and whether his approach still works for him? My afib episodes are now three weeks apart, mushrooms or notby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
yes, he mentions potassium, but also glutathione and ergothioneine, and also a form of beta-glucan dietary fibre, which acts as a probiotic. This was on his blog March 2023. I am wondering whether it is still working. I mean, not having any afib for 10 years because of dietary changes sounds intriguingby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you George. Those times would be similar to mine. According to my watch (and my EP in case I send it to her) I am in afib all the time. But to describe my last episode: I woke up at 00:15, and took, like instructed by my EP, 25 mg metoprolol tartrate and half an hour later 100 mg flecainide. This time I also drank a glass of coconut water. Could’t go back to sleep, walked around and finallyby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, how long does it take for the flecainide to convert you? I am wondering whether flecainide doesn't work in some people. Since October last year I have a considerable increase in afib episodes, from once a year to every two weeks now. 100 mg flecainide takes between 5 and 7 hours to get me back into sinus. My EP suggested that would probably have happened without flecainideby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi mjamesone, may I ask long were you on the Omeprazole and how much did you take? After taking famotidine for half a year and not only not making much progress, but also having much more afib episodes (instead of one every two years, four in six months) it occurred to me, that famotidine might indeed trigger my afib and I am now on Prilosec (20mg once a day in the morning). I was really relucby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yeah, maybe it's time to go with a PPI, try to avoid, thoughby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Can you recommend some? It seems most people take either famotidine or omeprazole. Or supplements, like DGL, slippery elm, marshmallow tea, Manuka honey, gaviscon..... By now I tried everything, just can't get rid of the tickling in the throat and constant cough from the sinusitis/post-nasal drip, which is supposedly caused by LPRby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Carey! I actually think that the famotidine triggered my episodes: I have monthly episodes while on famotidine, while I had yearly episodes beforeby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was afib free for about a year and then, probably connected my LPR, I got several episodes since October 2023. They are now monthly. When an episode starts I take 25 mg metoprolol, then 1/2 hour later 100 mg flacainide. Usually this converts me within 4 hours.Tonight I again went into afib. My question Is: I am now on amoxicillin for sinusitis (I am also on famotidine for LPR), can I still takeby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you gloamingby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you mjamesone for your reply. The doctor who prescribed the Famotidine is an ENT, and I have the impression he is pretty good. I have non of the "regular" reflux symptoms, like regurgitation or any burning sensation, just a chronic cough. The reason I saw the ENT was this unexplained chronic cough. I am already doing everything recommended since I had a similar problem some yearsby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
My doctor just prescribed Famotidine for my acid reflux (I thought I had that under control with diet and supplements, but what I thought was post nasal drip seems to be acid reflux even thought I don't have any heartburn, just a constant cough. Kind of like silent GERD, I assume). According to the Mayo Clinic there seems to be a chance that Famotidine can trigger arrhythmia. Does anybody haby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
I came across this, and then I extrapolated 😀 .by Edda - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Sorry if I sound silly, but I am thinking of getting an induction cooktop, and just read to be careful if you have a pacemaker. I don't have a pacemaker, but I am wondering if induction could trigger an afib episode. After all afib is an electro-physical disease. I guess my question is: does anyone here cook with induction without problems? Thanks!by Edda - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
My doctor just suggested to me to take quercetin for my allergies and sinusitis. While I researched it online I came across a study suggesting quercetin can help with afib. Any thoughts? And is quercetin safe to take?by Edda - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thank you George, that gives me some peace of mind in my constant fear of triggersby Edda - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I was just wondering whether it is safe to take enzymes/probiotic tablets. My acid reflux came back after four years without any problems, even though I am on a very healthy diet. So I am thinking about taking a combined enzymes/probiotic tablet. I also for the first time took some melatonin (0.5 mg) last night, because the constant cough kept me up. Does anybody take those pills without problemby Edda - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Yes, I saw my EP last week and she gave me the Flacainide as PIP: If I get afib I am supposed to take 100 mg twice daily , and metoprolol 25 mg every 6 hours. If I don't convert by myself after 24 hours, I am to take Eliquis and go to the hospital for a cardioversion. She was still evasive about long distance travel - I guess there is no perfect answer. She just keeps insisting to live my liby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
I didn't know about oxygen reduction during afib even without a high heart rate, that explains why some people faint during afib. And yes, I am extremely noise sensitive (after all, my afib was triggered by leaf blowers in the first place) so the hospital noise (tvs left and right) did not helpby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you everyone for all the information and support! This forum is so unique - it helped me so much, especially with my first afib episode, three years ago.I was always lurking in the shadows :-), and I am glad I finally signed up. I am going to see my EP tomorrow and will address the flecainide issue: what dose and whether to try it out somehow to see how I react. And yes, she also prescby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone. I am a 66 old female, 110 pounds, always in fairly good health, except for anxiety. I had my first afib episode on Labor Day, September 2, 2019 at 8:30 am. After being woken up by the neighbor’s landscapers and their extremely loud leaf blowers at 7:30 on a holiday I became very upset and suddenly my heart beat at a high rate and in a very erratic way. I had no idea what hit me. Mby Edda - AFIBBERS FORUM
