Megan, I also developed AT after two ablations. I have been on dofetilide (after sotalol and multaq were ineffective) which has kept me in sinus for the last seven months. During a discussion with the EP regarding a 3d ablation, I asked if they would stop the dofetilide some time before the ablation so hopefully I would be in AT at the time of the procedure. They stated they would continue tby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been on Dofetilide for atrial tachycardia since May and it is currently working very well. My goal is to get off the drug so I have ablation #3 scheduled for the end of November. I thought I would stop Dofetilide some time before the ablation but EP wants me to continue taking it up to the the schedule date. Is it preferable to be in sinus rhythm at the time of ablation? I have had 2 previous ablations {last ablation in Dec 22} but still suffer from tachycardia/flutter. Sotalol and Multaq stopped working and I started dofetilide in the beginng of June. I have not experienced any episodes and so far I have tolerated the drug very well. I have another ablation scheduled in November of this year to hopefully address tachycardia/flutter. With PFA hopefully approvedby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was on put on 400 mg of Multaq x2 after I needed to be cardioverted after my second ablation. This worked for a few months until flutter/tachycardia reappeared. Stopped Multaq and put on sotalol 40mg x2. Worked for a few months before flutter reappeared and needed to be cardioverted again. Dosage was upped to 80mg x2. My HR dropped to the mid to high 40s. Only worked for a short period befby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the feedback. Carey, when the nurse stated that I would have to wait 2 weeks, my response was that I’ll just go to the ER and get cardioversion. This morning Dr clariified that I don’t have to wait 2 weeks…I start taking the Multaq tonight and assuming I don’t convert this weekend they will schedule cardioversion for early next week. I’ve been on Xarelto for 2 years. I don’t see any reason for starting Multaq and then waiting 2 weeks for cardioversion .by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am currently on 20mg of Xarelto daily.by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was leaning towards starting the Multaq, but now they are telling me I would have to wait 2 weeks to get a cardioversion (I am assuming that the Multaq will not get me back into sinus) . That would be 3 weeks in Afib …not something I am looking forward to. I have not yet heard back regarding this but I cannot think of any reason I would have to wait 2 weeks before getting a cardioversion. Thanby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a 2nd ablation in Dec 22,2022 for AT/AF. Started on sotalol 40mg x2/day. Went into AT/AF on April 15 and was cardioverted on April 20. Dosage of Sotalol was increased to 80mg x 2/day. Reoccurance of AF/Flutter on May 6 and I currently remain in AF. Dr has suggested stopping Sotalol and starting either 400mg Dofetilide {with 3 day hospital stay} or 400mg Dronedarone {Multaq}.until anotherby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was not on any meds before the January episode. I started the sotalol after the January conversion.. Dosage was upped to 80mg 2x/day after April 10 conversion. EP is concerned that this may result in a too low HR but I'll monitor daily. I had asked what options were available if this happens again. The response was maybe a change in medication. I had stated that I got the ablation so Iby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
First episode occurred on Jan 5 {attributed to banking period; started 40mg sotalol 2x/day}, second episode was April 10.by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I previously had an ablation {Dec 2022} but after ablation, I had 2 episodes of atrial tachycardia that required cardioversion. The possibility of a Vein of Marshall ablation was mentioned in a recent office visit.by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
Has anyone had or heard of "vein of marshall alcohol ablation" procedure. This was mentioned by my EP for followup for atrial tachycardia after an ablation..by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had paroxysmal afib for around 4 yrs. Episodes typically lasted 12 hours and always self corrected. In 2021, frequency of episodes had increased to about 2/month so I decided to have an ablation. I do not want to be on an antiarrhythmic for any prolonged period of time.by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
There was no discussion of starting Sonatol in the hospital. They do want me to come in for an EKG after 3 days though. I'll definately ask my EP about a milder alternative.by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my ablation procedure on 11/8. I take 20 MG of Xarelto every day. I have had several short duration (2-3 hours) afib episodes in the last 2 months. One of those episodes then evolved into tachycardia which lasted 48 hours. In this state, my HR shows as 150 bpm on my Kardia. I take 40 MG of Verapamil when in this state but it does little to lower my HR. This past weekend I had an brief afby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
Marco, I had my ablation at BIDMC on Nov 8th. I did not have any episodes for the first 10 days post ablation but then started experiencing short bouts of afib and atrial flutter. I was experiencing these episodes daily for weeks 2-5 (almost always at night). These episodes have continued to decrease over time. I'm now at almost at two months and episodes have become very infrequent. I'by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM

OK, I received the procedure notes..."via the right femoral vein one steerable Vizigo transseptal sheath, a 9F (ICE), and 7F sheaths were placed". Not sure what it means, but maybe I'll get some good questions to ask when I visit my EP in January.by triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM
As a 66 yo, I just had my ablation 5 days ago. Was I anxious? Yes... How can you not be anxious. Preprocedure, the ablation team, including the anesthesia team, made sure to introduce themselves individually and explain what their role was during the procedure and what to expect post procedure . This was very reassuring and made me feel much more comfortable. Post ablation the doctor came by aby triplea - AFIBBERS FORUM

It's been 2 days since my ablation at BIDMC in Boston. The entire staff were all personal, efficient and professional. I'm currently scheduled for an ablation in mid Nov and I'm having second thoughts on my EP. He has been performing between 50-100 ablations per year at a major Boston hospital for the last 15 years.
