Hi everyone, I dont know id anyone else has heard something similar. But I thought that I recalled hearing how eating things like miso or fermented foods can have a negetive inmpact of afib? Has anyone else heard this? Thank youby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good afternoon folks! Want to ask if anyone here has heard of berberine. I started looking at information regarding something else, and ended up finding out that berberine can have cardiovascular benefits as well. Trying to look at a lot of the information however can be overwhelming to say the least. Does anyone of the fellow afibbers have experience with berberine or helpful information? Watched a video by Dr. Berg this morning on potasium and afib. I have also see information about people in the summer overdosing on coconut water and heart issues do to too much potasium. With all of that. Dr. Bergs comments and other folks also mention the fact that potasium levels in food (aka veggies) aint what it used to be because of farming practices, less nutrients etc... Ah.. thank you again so much everyone for sharing thoughts and continue to hop on anyone else who cares to share/comment. The uniquenss of each persons journey is so helpful. To see the commonalities and differences, its good (and not good) to connect. I dont know that there is any connection for me for sure with weight so to speak. However, I am looking at inflamation being a key factor posby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I figure for a lot of people, weight is something that we want to lose or control to some extent. I have been seeing articles lately casting a poor reflection on low carb and/or keto way of eating stating that they cause an increase in afib potential, I think around 16% increase? Trouble is being overweight is also an issue for afib. With that, I am wanting to ask of those here that are lowby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Morning folks! So for todays inquirey... (drum roll.......) Vitamin C!!! In my searching for ways to help and heal my body, or at the very least coopoerate with getting better, I found this video by I bleieve a UK cardiologiest named Dr. Gupta talking about the potential help of Vit C in post operative patients and afib reduction. Thank you Carey, appreciate the advice. It is all a learning curve, and a lot "realzing things" for lack of better words at the moment. I am trying to choose to keep a positive attitude. To look at this as an oportunity to learn about myself and take care of myself. Hoping to make good choices and make the most of this wonderful life that Gos has given me. Thanks so much everyone.by LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you again, you all are so patient. So carey as far as what I take, yes, it is all the necessary stuffs at the moment flecainide, metoprolol, and eliquis. When I say labor breathing, I think gloaming hit the nail on the head with paroxsymal afibber people just not used to the crappy feeling and NOT liking it. For me, if I try to move around alot it feels like I could get light headed or dby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
I put it with a questionmark as I know we all have different experiences/types of afib. A friend once said her hubby has the type of afib that "glugg, gluggs", meaning he is very slow. I am one of the people who's heart goes real fast, I think its called tachycardia and the slow, braidycardia? Anyhoo... For those who are fast like my heart, here is my question(s). Hi Susan, oh my goodness, did you say you had an ablation? I hope and pray that it was succesful for you. I have tried vagal manovers in the past, and they dont seem to work for me? It is interesting (to give it a poilte term) all of this stuff and how our bodies work/dont work. So last night I went downstairs and got a glass of cold almond milk, not the first glass of the day btw, but sat onby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Susan, thank you for that information. Right now I fluctuate right around 154 and will keep that in mind. My last experience was very interesting. We had the flu Sooooo bad, and I think because my body was just so challened at the time my heart went into afib 2 monrings in a row which is unusal for me. The first mornig it corrected pretty quickly with pip, the second morng... not so muchby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the feedback so far folks. Always interesting to see the expereince of others and learn from each other. I guess at the end of the day, we are all just looking for answers to help our bodies the best that we can. I am weaning off of meds right now under the supervision of my doctor btw. But I am always looking for ways to help my body to help itself if at all possible as I face morby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Funny.... I feel like by just saying the words hawthron or motherwort, I should be in a Harry Potter movie for sure Seriously though, I am curios to see if anyone has any feedback about either of these two herbals and their effects. I technically am a paroxsmyl afib person. Not sure of a cause, still digging on that. Used to question if it was vagal, but now thinking more adrenal? Again notby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
OK, so I quickly scanned the different comments, and I am thankful that I found this post/question as soon as I opened to look at the forum as I haven'e visited in a spell. It appeared that there are mostly ladies commenting here, so I'll put it out there and see if ya'll can slap any wisdom or share thoughts on my question about Taurine. Oh my gosh.. duh!! thank you george, laughing at myself right now Ya know you get to see all of these shortcuts people take on writing things and I wasn't even thinking hahaha!! Oh well, have a chuckle at my expense. So will keep exploring magnesium and see if more makes a difference for me, especially after chemo and afib. Blessings!by LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey, thank you, sorry I'm not familiar with all of the lingo... what does opt stand for? And then, if that is correct abt the dose per tablet, I'm not getting enough or at least close to the 400 a day. I have been taking one of those in the morning which would be the 120mg and then 2 mag. taurate at night which has 200 mg in the two caplets which would put me at the 320mg total. Morning folks, I need a little help understanding how to properly read my magnesium supplement label if any of you can break it down for me. I take a magnesium glycinate suppliment. On the front of the bottle it says 665 mg 120 capsules. On the back under information it says "Take one tablet 3 x daily. Then for suppliment facts it says "One tablet has 120mg 29% from 665 mg magnesium gby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM

Just thought I would put this out there kind of as a question. In the past, my episodes of afib are usuall very fast they call it afib with RVR so my hearts going 200 etc.. So yest. afternoon I was going about the day and my heart felt a little palpy which is not unusual for me to feel a couple of seconds of palps but then it stops and is normal. But yest. it stuck with me, I could just tell tby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow Susan, thank you so much for that info. I am post cancer treatment at this point, and although my cancer was her2+ I was ER neg, so I am not going to take the tamoxifen or AI because of my other health issues like the AFIB as it is my understanding that none of these things are heart friendly. This is one of the reasons I am experimenting with intermittent fasting and nutritional improvemenby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi George, had a whole respone typed out and then deleted it accidentally Going to look more at the sympathetic trigger you mention? Wondering if there is a way to help that as far as episodes go especially in the season I am in of change etc... I really value your input so thank you and will contnue to explore fasting but as you said maybe not more than a day at a time. Also wanting to lookby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good afternoon! A little about my experience and any thoughts from people who wish to comment that will be helpful is great. I am a breast cancer surivior (lumpectomy, taxol and herceptin as chemo proton therpy for radiation.) Thanks again, I know it is different for everyone, all on here have different stories to tell of the "why" and the "what helped me" and as I said, I am learning all of this and like others trying to find what helps me. So thankful that forums like this exist so we can learn from each other My story of afib is that about 5 years ago in Aug I had a lone episode out of the blueby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks so much George, I appreciate your reply. I needed to ask however, what do you mean by remodling? I am still new to a lot of these terms and such, thank you.by LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
OK, so I know that a lot of people could view this topic as "diet" but I am coming from the perspective of trying to eliminate and play detective with this whole afib thing. Has anyone ever tried an elimination diet like Whole30 and had success figuring out trigger foods etc in regards to their afib episodes? I am at a bit of a challenging point physically. I am in perimenopause, a lby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
George and Elizabeth, thank you both for your thoughts and comments. George, I was thinking along the same line as you said about starting before going off meds, and I got the ok from the doctor (even though they think I'm wasting time). Praying and hoping for the best regarding supplements!by LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good evening! and thanks for any help or advice regarding my topic. Know that I am under the care of physicians and am seeking their help but I thought that this might be something that others here may have done or tried to do, so I thought i would ask. A little bit abt my afib experience would be this. I had a lone episode abt 5 years ago (I would have been about 45 at the time). I was on oneby LaDonna - AFIBBERS FORUM
