Hello everyone I’ve been AFIB free for 2.5 years post ablation and not on blood thinner- but I keep a stash in case of emergency. Otherwise healthy and fairly young 47. Tested positive today it ripped through my large family in less than a week. We all thankfully have very mild symptoms. I already take loads of supplements including zinc and d. Anyone have a thought on taking the Eliquis asby Dinodog - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks Carey. I just found a link on company website with docs who use them- and of course Mass General is there hah.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had successful ablation and usually get sinus rhythm on it. This summer I had a bout of tachycardia and maybe svt and watch said afib. I happened to be wearing a zio at the same time and was not in afib. Before the afib reading when my rate was feeling high it said inconclusive. Seems to say inconclusive if I’m over 100. It’s a tool to keep an eye on things, but by no means perfectly accuratby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Can anyone recommend someone in New England who uses the zio? My mom needs a monitor and hates (as we all do) the normal wired monitors. Thanks!by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone- This was briefly discussed years ago on this forum but I’m hoping for more recent input. I am a 46 year old female who has been advised to try 2% topical Minoxidil for the beginning stages of some hair loss. I’ve read that Minoxidil can cause afib but rarely with low dose topical. I’m afib free for over a year after two ablations and want to keep it that way. I’m inclined toby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone! I happened to have a zio on at the same time I was wearing my Apple Watch. I had a touch up ablation a year ago and was doing great but for some runs of tachycardia here and there- nothing major. I had the zio on during the heatwave in July- happened to be wearing the zio when I wasn’t feeling well- heart beating fast, dizzy- and while it was nowhere near as bad as my episodes prby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks Wolfpack. Yes he said it showed a moment of VT- but not dangerous for me because I don’t have structural heart disease.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone I had my 2nd successful ablation in September with Dr. DiBiase who is amazing and connected to Dr. Natale. I’ve been doing great and am considering coming off the blood thinner. Met with doc yesterday and February zio showed no afib, but showed small run of SVT and another small run of VT- neither of which I even pressed the button for. I was surprised to hear this and very upset.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone I had my second ablation in September and no AFIB since- feeling great. Alcohol- wine-was a huge trigger for me and I will, sadly, never drink it again. I now limit myself to two beers once a week. Twice now I’ve woken up after two IPAs with a pounding heart- and running 120. It didn’t feel like afib luckily. Needless to say I’m done- the feeling is awful and I can’t risk it leadby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone Had a successful ablation in September. Having terrible spring allergies- and the post nasal drip and resulting cough are making me miserable and increasing my heart rate. I’m told nasal spray is the best option for post nasal drip- but reading many concerning things about these triggering afib. Can anyone tell me a safe spray? Will regular Claritin help and is that safe? Theby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes LAA- typos. It’s just that as soon as this happened last time it all fell apart and I had far worse afib than I ever did before the ablation. Was told the LAA is the only place left for it to jump to. I would be just find with ectopics that led to nothing more- and your post gives me hope that that is likely. Thanks!by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone- I had my ablation on 9/12 with DiBiase and woke up feeling like a new person. Afib had gotten so bad I was having daily episodes that made me unable to drive. My first ablation was with him in January of this year- held until summer. I’m young and hadn’t had afib long. First lesions held fine- so he ablated second area. Last thing left is the lCC and hoping doesn’t come to that. Poby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks so much everyone- I’m so thankful to have much such a caring and educated group of people. Jackie- I am doing magnesium and taurine- do you think the taurine is ok at this point? Tracyby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hello everyone- I am 3 weeks and 2 days out from my second ablation. I was doing great for a couple of weeks but now things have been worse. Lots of ectopics and some afib I’m quite sure- and raised heart rate with the two. Comes and goes and no triggers. I am taking all supplements and not doing anything questionable. It’s now negatively affecting my mood as the palps always cause me depressiby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Was just told by the EP nurse that those numbers are meaningless for Eliquis. No worries.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just got a copy of my pre-ablation blood work and noticed that they checked my PT and INR levels even though I’m on Eliquis. Doctor had left when I got results so couldn’t ask him. PT was 14 which is above the 9.4-12.5 seconds range listed. INR was 1.3. For warfarin goal is 2-3. My surgeon never mentioned an issue but I’m wondering if I need to be concerned about these levels? I would often feel what I think were ectopics in my throat that quickly led to an afib episode. It didn’t feel like an allergic reaction but was uncomfortable and usually the first sign that an episode would be full blown within minutes.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Agree with the above comments. When was the last time you wore a monitor? Might want to ask for one to see if you can narrow down what is happening. Might not be A-Fib or flute at all. Also make sure you are taking all of your supplements. Best wishes and hopefully this is but a bump in the road.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my second ablation on Tuesday and feel like I got a new lease on life- so thankful. I drove for the first time yesterday. The only issue I’m having is pain in the groin. The pain seems to have gotten worse as of Sunday and today- I need to take Tylenol for it. The bruising is getting much darker but I think that’s normal. Today I feel a pea like hard area where they went in. The whole areaby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi guys- I had my first ablation in January. 45, paroxysmal for 1.5 years at time with no heart damage. Top EP did it. AFIB then broke through this summer worse than before. I just had my second ablation Wednesday and feel well. Doc said best case would have been some of the original burns healed up. Unfortunately the original work was pristine, and it had jumped to a new area in the middle of tby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Catherine- The ablation choice is very personal. One thing we all know is that AFIB begets AFIB- the more you have the more problematic it becomes. So it’s important to control it any way you can. Absolutely discuss anti-coagulation with your doc if you haven’t- if they tell you need blood thinners take them. That’s your biggest protection. just had my second ablation. Hi New Yorker- You are not a failure- far from it. I think you are the younger mom who posted about your surgery this winter. I am also a younger mom of 3, crazy symptomatic to the point where I can’t talk or drive during episodes, and I too had a DiBiase ablation in January. I’m getting a touch up tomorrow and can’t wait to be done with this! Take the meds you need, a deep breath, and cut yourby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi everyone- I’m having a touch up ablation with Dr DiBiase in NY this week who did my first in January. I’ve been terribly symptomatic all summer when things went haywire. No other heart or health issues and paroxysmal AFIB- 45 years old. Is recovery from the touch-up any easier or better? I had issues with the meds last time so am not sure what to expect without that factor. Current episodesby Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. I probably did misunderstand Shannon as he was kind enough to give me a lot of information at once. On rate control not rhythm as surgeon wants to see echo results first and I’ve already failed two rhythm drugs. Waiting on ablation date hoping very soon.by Dinodog - AFIBBERS FORUM
