I went out last night and overindulged in bar food and a few beers which for the most part I've avoid now anyway. or do in moderation. But I enjoy life and don't avoid the finer things whether it's a hole in the wall bar with great food or a high end steak house. At almost 10 months after my ablation, no problem steady NSR this morning. Chasing triggers is like chasing rabbits downby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Barb, I'm doing well, still on Xarelto as I just passed the 9 month mark. I do get the occasional run of extra beats or pacs but nothing to be concerned about. No I don't need a TEE as I had no work done in my LAA and didn't have much fibrosis. I forgot about your extensive ablation and the scarring from your fibrosis in your LA. Don't worry about it it's just partby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb, I enjoy few beers on the weekends, maybe a port too or even a Scotch. It's different now the desire to have just one more is longer there, maybe subconsciously I'm afraid this will lead to an attack. Natale told me all in moderation. Johnby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Barb, Are you having issues with Xarelto or just want to come off it? Wishing you the Best and Good Luck, McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
AFIB is not a benign condition even when rate controlled. MI and end stage renal disease are just 2 complications that have only just now been realized. The inflammation from constant AFIB leads to so much more disease as discussed by Dr Reddy. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Besides the SCI, here's more to worry about once you cross into more persistent afib AFIB is not a benign condition even when rate controlled. Julianne, You are now a CHADS 2 with your stroke at the very least and a CHADS3 being female no matter how you try to twist it otherwise. You should be anticoagulated IMHO. You are not a lone afibber being over 60 I believe. Perhaps we should stop using terms such as Lone Afibbers because in the end we will find a cause. You've proven you can throw a clot so you probably have the riskierby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
So you're getting a FIRM Ablation, does that include a PVI ? McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
DD, Don't worry about being out of rhythm for 15 hours or a few days. After my Natale ablation starting at day 15 and finally being cardioverted at day 30 with sustained flutter of 133-145bpm the last 5 days which was so much worse than the AFIB itself. For 2 weeks I had the flippies- AEIOU's you name it! I also experienced a sore throat for 3 months, lots of congestion too that all reby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dental devices only work for mild sleep apnea, AHI 5-15 if it works at all depending where the obstruction is. Anything over a Apnea Index 20-60>or more forget about it. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynn, Dr Tchou has been around as long as Natale, and I would consider him a Rock Star too. He was my second choice behind the "Man". Can't go wrong with him Dr Tchou. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
According to my cardiologist who has 5 offices and practicing for over 25 years when he's presented with AFIB it's off to the sleep clinic. Most come back with sleep apnea diagnosis. During my titration study the apneas went away but I was going in and out of AFIB all night. My advice to all really is try to use the CPAP the first few months at least to let your heart heal so you don&by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
CPAP triggered my afib before my ablation, think the rush of air stimulated sympathetic nervous system . No you're not crazy but I thought maybe I was. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynn, Dr Tchou at CC is highly regarded and trained under Natale there. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, Luigi says Hi and he was very impressed with you when you guys talked. I sent you a photo of us together at the seminar today. Knucklehead that I am I forgot to take a photo with Natale! I wanted to to grab him after he spoke but he took off like dare I say OJ to catch a 11:15am flight out of LaGuardia. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Flec is also weight dependent for efficacy. So the heavier you are the more Flec you will need. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've actually had coffee that stopped my afib on numerous occasions before my ablation. It never seemed to start an episode either. I also tried stopping all coffee for about 6 weeks and really didn't notice any cessation of afib, it's duration or frequency. Coffee does have heart healthy properties, can protect against heart rhythm disturbances protects against type 2 diby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just some food for thought, everyone is differentby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Simply the Best..........Got to love the guy. You'll be in the room with a humble genius and it might just as well be in a cafe in Florence Italy. I just spoke to Dr Danik about updating my report who assisted with my ablation, actually he just watched him go into a zone. Once he started ablating it was non-stop for about 1 hour, foot on the gas with no letup only a few moments to selecby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wonder what idiot said this............. "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it" McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Gill, Congratulations on 11 years of NSR........and to think you could have easily said I'll stay in AFIB the rest of my life. This was done back in the stone age no less. Prof. Haissaguerre is truly one of the best. Perseverance really paid off! McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb, Same here too, EP labs were state of the art but the rest of the hospital and care was less impressive. I just saw Barrett again on Chanel 4 this morning. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Natale has the most experience ablating the LAA then any other EP out there, has gone there where most wouldn't dare.Others are now starting to realize that LAA is the source of stubborn AFIB. Shannon will be able to give much more info and detail as he's had extensive work done in his appendage that required a Lariat procedure to eliminate stroke risk. That's where he's goby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, Tell Andrea "The Greek from New York" wishes him a Blessed New Year!! Heart beating like a Swiss Watch!!! God Bless the Maestro, McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, They have a few older cases I can have now but I opted for the newer redesigned case out next month hopefully. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb, Yes I'm assuming it's new since Natale left they're trying to promote the 3 state of the art EP Labs. Saw it twice I believe on 7 or maybe 2. McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just do it and you won't regret it! You'll proudly be saying I got a Natale ablation to anybody that will listen! It's a badge of honor as you're getting ablated arguably by one of the BEST! Shannon done smacked me upside the head when I found excuses to back out like waiting for FIRM! McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anybody see the commercial on network TV featuring Dr Barrett as it's spokesman? McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow that Natale must really know what's he's doing even 8 years ago........ I'm over 6 months out myself from being ablated by The Maestro. Thanks for the update and keep them coming! McHaleby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
