Sorry you have to go through all this, Leah. While i can't advise i wonder what your sugar metabolism (blood glucose levels) are like? Normal? Not fluctuating a lot?by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's fantastic side effects, Colin! Can't say i've noticed any of them. At least not more of my hair has fallen out - i think? I eat natto straight with the little mustard and sauce provided. Actually like the taste of it. Even my grandson eats it since he was 10/12 months old. Don't know if natto has an effect on keeping afib at bay? I 'm just hoping it keeps myby Joe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
QuoteElizabeth Joe: Yes, Natto is made from soybeans, soy is a no, no for Thyroid people, Natto is made from fermented soybeans so not quite as bad as just plain soy. Nevertheless, it probably will affect the uptake of your thyroid hormone, maybe you could take a little iodine like Lugos iodine. Liz Thanks Liz! I just keep may guard up on that. Taking iodine supplements scares me a bit bby Joe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Colin, For about 4/5 months. Wondering if it slows down my thyroid function? My TSH was 5.72mIU/L last week. Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase and Anti-Thyroglobuline are low (good). Still, i'll continue with eating Natto and watch other goitrogenic food i can eliminate. Preferable to pharma anti-coagulants at this stage. Have you noticed any Natto effects, Colin?by Joe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Quotejpeters The measurement of healthier was easy for him. Longer fertility cycle and fewer health problems. wonderful! then it should be even easier to test on yourself, and see what aspects of your health are dependent on alkaline water. You could go on and off it several times, and measure the differences. PS My personal preference is to chomp on an apple. Cheaper I don't buyby Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteJackie whitehaven - as you point out in your initial post, eliminating many healthy foods to help with the INR seems to be counterproductive. The advantage with Eliquis and similar is being able to eat a healthy, nutritionally-balanced diet. The other issue with warfarin that isn't typically mentioned when prescribed, is the long-term effect on tissues that can become calcified... tby Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Quotejpeters The Unique Water is based on the observations that sheep drinking spring water that was alkaline were healthier and lived longer than those drinking from a non-alkaline spring source which fostered the basis for the patent to produce and market the Unique Water. Quotehwkmn05 Not a fan of clairvoyants or Cayce, but Im guessing he came along shortly after the Allopaths, ("Allo": Opposite Healing"), brought their new techniques to modernize healing. At one time some were called Witches for using certain herbal remedies. No, no nitrate or nitride. It's just a salt with some other residual/trace minerals (supposedly) that's mined in some part of the world.by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM
While i like proven science for guidance i wouldn't mock Edgar Cayce. I've read a lot of his dietary recommendations relating to individuals and it makes sense to me (bio-chemical individuality). Don't think anybody could go wrong following his general dietary recommendations. Makes sense, George. Thanks for the link! Pleased that Dr Noaks was found innocent of these stupid charges! Incidentally, my drinking water is distilled with 1/16 teaspoon potassium carbonate + 1/16 tspsodium bicarb, tri-Mg Citrate 900mg and 1/16 tsp pink salt in 3.5 litre of water. Just mentioning it in case somebody can hopefully tell me if i'm on the wrong track.by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you so much for that info, George. It also confirms what i sort of experienced after holding my breath during my ultrasound (it didn't convert me but i noticed a difference on the monitor and also a lower HR) . A junior doctor said that breathing does have a connection with afib. The chief doctor dismissed this quite sharply and said that breathing has nothing to do with afib.by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wouldn't raw vegetable juice*/smoothy be the way to go (high in rutin)? Generally, i feel that veg juice*/smoothy is better than a hand full of supplements. *incorporating at least a good part part of the pulp into the juice.by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM

It's beyond my pay grade to assess these studies both somewhat positive and negative ones and the funding/potential conflicts of interest. I used to drink 'energy' drinks prior to afib but stopped since. Just going by gut instinct and observing others with health problems. In any case, not drinking them is definitely not a health hazard.by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Don't despair Tracy! Look on the bright side, you have had 'only' one afib episode and very few other problems. It has likely got to do with change of hormone levels. I'd send my wife to a specialist and he'll tell you what to do. As for your anxiety, i know it is easy for others to rationalize, but difficult for the sufferer. Sorry to read about your problems. Have you considered natural i.e. dietary anticoagulants? Don't know nor fully understand how reliable blood clotting analysis is but i think it may be a start given your eye problem? Did your specialist mention/consider it? Some food can be very efficacious anticoagulants. So much so that surgeons recommend not to eat them a few days prior to surgery.by Joe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you Jackie! My GP isn't familiar with MK7 i suspect - i'll ask him next visit. He did ask me if i was willing to see a specialist if my CCS turns out to be high and if i'm prepared to take statins if the score is high? Jackie, if you happen to come across the results of their latest study (or the one i linked to) i would appreciate reading it.by Joe - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie, thank you very much for the heads up on MK7! I was sort of aware of MK7 but not sure how it would affect thrombus formation given my potential return to afib at any time? I think it doesn't but i'm still uncertain. I have been eating 40g of Natto/day thanks to what i've learned on this site Cant wait for the Netherlands Heart Foundation study results.
