I have checked the Advantage plans in Michigan and they will not pay for any surgery outside of my state, the only way they would pay is if it was an emergency, Also, their prescription cost for Xarelto isn't any better than what I now have.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: I know that pot. and Mag. are good for the heart, I wasnt thinking about AF in that context, just want to do whatever is good for my heart. I spoke with my doctor and will take this drug for 2 months than an echo will be performed.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
is it possible that tricuspid regurgitation can be caused by permanent AF? I have severe TR now, it used to be mild to moderate, i am in permanent AF for about the last 2 years and my TR has become severe. I do not have any symptoms yet but the heart doctor wants me to take Indapamide (water pill). This pill eliminates salt and excess fluid from ones body. i have always been low on sodium/by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tomatoes are the key ingredient in V8 juice, i grow lots of tomatoes and make juice and sauce out of them, so seems like a person could buy tomato juice for their potassium level, also sweet potatoes and regular potatoes have potassium.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I checked the site www.mayoclinc.org and put the drug Xarelto in and they said that you can take aspirin with the drug. Yet everybody says not to do that. My EP told me not to take aspirin but if needed to take Tylenol. So who is right.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Smackman; Silverscript (Aetna) has a plan called Smart RX, 6.90/ins., 46.month for Xeralto, donut hole is 445.00 adds up to around 1079/year. Not real good but it is a little cheaper than what I am paying now. If Carey can show up something better that would be great.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey: Is that 40.00 monthly for 12 months, does your plan reach a period called the donut hole and then your price for your drug increase for about 3 months. I am checking plans now so that my price remains the same for the whole year. These supplemental plans usually don't want to talk when they know a person has AF, that may not apply to you as you are no longer in AF.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
ice Man Yes, i am in persistent AF for about 2 years, the good thing is that my heart rate is not high it is pretty normal. I do have a severe Tricuspid regurgitation, the rest of the valves are mild/ok. I dont know if this is because of my AF, I dont think so because i have had many tests over the years and the above has pretty much remained the same over the last years. I say if your AFby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ice Man: I had perioxyimal AF for almost 20 years, I always converted on my own, my heart rate never went above 90 while in AF. About 2 years ago I went into persistent AF, I no longer feel it expect perhaps once in a while, perhaps that is because my heart rate is usually in the 60s. I have around 5 acres, some woods, i cut my own lawn (there is a lot of it), i have a pretty big garden whicby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Smackman: Yes, i have reached the donut hole and my cost for 90 tabs is $390., so i am just getting 30 tabs for now at a cost of $130. I spoke with a person at Aetna and in Oct. (that is when i can change my ins.) I can check their different ins. i can pay a little more monthly to perhaps get a cheaper price on my drug. So, i have to get the 30 tabs until i find out what i can do, perhaps i cby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

Smackman; Yes, i was with Silverscript and now it is Aetna. I should have said that the $43. was for a 30 day supply and I paid $129. for a 3 months supply, you are paying a little less than I am. I don't know how much I will have to pay but probably around what you are saying, I will check it out. There was supposed to be a generic but so far there isn't one, the drug companies aby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Smackman; i pay $43.00 for a 90 day supply of Xeralto, then in around the first of Oct. that price goes up and i will then have to pay close to $300 for the same 90 pills until the end of the year and the first month of the next year. Now that is my cost now, you are saying that it is going up, i will have to chec k on the price. Our insurance system is lousy we are paying way too much forby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Todd: I agree that a lot of oils are not good, but what about eating seeds like Pumpkin and Sunflower? I eat some of those everyday, I buy them raw without salt and then put a little olive oil on them and roast for a few min. I salt them with Celtic Sea Salt. I have been doing this for over a year and have not gained any weight, i stay the same. I also eat some Almond butter sometimes, itby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I know that a pacer will kick in if your heart rate goes lower than what the pacer is set at. Mine is set at 50 BPM at the low end and if my heart rate goes lower the pacer kicks in, mine isn't set for the high end as I never had any problems that way. i was talking about when getting an episode of AF the pacer doesn't stop it, they tried to do that but it hasn't worked at leastby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

i had perioxysmal AF for almost 20 years, during that time i never took an anti-coagulant, sometimes baby aspirin. I have low platelets as well, I am wondering if the low platelets are more responsible for not getting clots and not the Natto that Jackie thinks was instrumental in overcoming her clot. Just wondering as jackie and i both have low platelets.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
I take Xarelto, i like taking it once a day only. As to taking it with a "full meal" I was told you didn't have to take in a lot of food, just some food. I have been on Xarelto for over a year and I take it in the evening and not with a "full meal" I will eat a small amount, perhaps a sandwich, just one slice of bread.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
