I posted this on another area but didn’t see any responses, so I’ll try here. On page 44 of the new book, Hans states, “The beneficial effects of Nattokinase persist for 18 hours or longer and positive effects have been observed with as little as 50 mg.” Since Cardiokinase is the “better” form of Nattokinase (I think), do I need to take it (Pure Prescriptions 100 mg) three times a day?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
In Hans' book (page 44) he states "The beneficial effects of nattokinase persist for 18 hours or more and positive effects have been observed with as little as 50 mg." Since Cardiokinase is (I think) the "better" form of Nattokinase and each softgel is 100 mg (Pure Prescriptions), I'm wondering if it is necessary to take 3 each day. I have added Serrapeptase for the past month. I take it as soon as I wake up and don’t eat for at least a half hour. I have felt increasingly bloated and gassy since starting it. I did not see this ad a side effect and it was not mentioned in the Life Extension article. I take 10m. Has anyone else noticed this. I’ve never had any stomach issues. Do we get the benefits of zinc by using zinc oxide daily as a sunscreen?by Louise - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Jackie, thank you so much for your reply and the very informative reports. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello again, Jackie. May I ask if you have any certain brand of serrapeptase you recommend? There are so many brands and dosages! Thank you so much. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Jackie. I take 6000 mg fish oil daily. I will look into Serrapeptase. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
On the Cardiokinase bottle it says to take 1or 2 pills a day with food and another at bedtime. I do not eat late — is it effective to take the last one without food? Thank you for responses. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
To Shannon and Jackie, who helped me so much and for everyone else's info. I have not posted since July 2014 after seeing Dr. Natale in San Diego. I don't have the horrible episodes of afib some of you do. I have a 24/7 irregular heartbeat, but have never gone to the ER. It was discovered during a routine annual physical and Holter monitor in 2010. I started with heart rate drugs,by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have finally found a salad with kale, cabbage and broccoli that I like -- I add dried cranberries to offset the bitterness. I get very bloated and am wondering if there is something natural I can take before or after eating it. I do not like to take things like Beano or Gas-X (I never have because it seems weird to take a drug in order to eat something healthy!) Louiseby Louise - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I saw my GP yesterday and upon listening to my description of the "event," he said it was vasovagal incident. He went into more detail, but I do not remember exactly, so to try to repeat them would probably be giving false "facts." Shannon, I'm sure you can probably explain it (I googled it when I got home) -- in my case basically it was from stuffing myself and causingby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all for your (as always) prompt responses. I believe I jumped the gun. Because of what's been going on in the bathroom all day I'm convinced this was a stomach issue. The weird thing with the images on the floor made me think I had a stroke, but there was no evidence of that last night so I immediately thought heart attack. I called my GP today -- coincidentally I have aby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all, I have not posted in almost a year, since my visit to Dr. Natale last June. It's time for my annual echocardiogram, however my last one was clear Last night after dinner my stomach started to hurt -- not like a virus, but just "full." I felt really bloated and I have NEVER bloated or suffered with acid reflux, gerd, etc. Finally, I thought I might vomit so I wentby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all for your responses. Elizabeth, my mother is 95 and also in afib for many years. Her's was not diagnosed for many years. She DID have a problem with Pradaxa and internal bleeding when she was 92. She is now on Coumadin and Digoxin (sp) 3 times a week. She is pretty much asymptomatic and "they" would not ablate her at her age. Having said that, I just turned 6by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Chrisdodt, Actually, I misstated -- I have been in afib since January, 2010, which would probably make you more befuddled! But it's the fact that, although I have an "irregular heartbeat," which is, I believe the simple definition of afib, my symptoms are not severe. I have never been to the ER for it and I basically go through my life without too much interference because ofby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I went to Scripps in La Jolla today to meet with Dr. Natale. Needless to say (but I will anyway) he is as patient, kind and charming as everyone says. And his assistant Linda is very, very efficient and "cut through" my ramblings about my condition!! The VERY GOOD NEWS for me is that there is no need for me to have an ablation at this time. I have been in afib since Jan, 2013.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Nancy, I posted about visual migraines on another post, but I have gotten what my optometrist calls "optical" migraines before with no pattern whatsoever. I have not had an ablation and I don't understand the correlation there; but mine start with a "silvery" aura in my peripheral vision and as soon as I see that, if I eat something sweet -- just a piece of candy oby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb & Charlotte, congratulations to both of you! My first appointment with Dr. Natale is next week -- July 10th at Scripps in LaJolla, CA. This is just a consultation, but I am sure I will have an ablation based on my history and information from Shannon; and reading everyone's positive results is very, very comforting. So glad to hear it was easy, Barb -- and I hope you enjoyed Austin! Best, Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
H Barb, I haven't been hanging around the forum too much lately because of time constraints, so just saw your post. Enjoy Austin! I lived there many yeas ago and I know it's changed tremendously, but it is a great city. If you have a car try to drive out to lake country -- it's the most beautiful part of Texas! I know your ablation will be easy-peasy! I'm just startiby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Happy Father's Day, Smackman (and all the other fathers here!) As I recall, you were very, very anxious about an ablation, so it is wonderful to hear everything is good! I am just starting, with a consultation with Dr. Natale at Scripps on July 10; so your report is very encouraging! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you all for your replies! I just read them because my computer crashed this weekend. I just spent an hour and a half with India getting it back! It sounds like I may be a little optimistic about recovery. I'm sure all ablations are a little different and the work that has to be done determines the recovery. Anyone else who wants to chime in, I'm all ears! Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I finally got a consultation appointment with Dr. Natale at Scripps for July 10. I have been in afib (or at least have an irregular heartbeat) for 3 years, so I'm quite sure I will never get to NSR without an ablation. I am wondering what you mean by "normal activities." Are you talking about strenuous exercise that you used to do, i.e. running; or driving to the grocery storyby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Duke, you said you "scheduled an initial consultation today for June". How did you get in so fast? I called 3 weeks ago and sent Dory a release for medical records (I am also in L.A. -- Santa Monica actually) and she said after they had received my records she would call me to schedule an appointment. Thank you all again! I have not been on the Forum for a week (very unusual because it is usually part of my daily routine -- life just got crazy!) If I have not thanked each of you for your input, please take it now. I just re-read all of the posts. I have now had my PP call in a prescription for Xeralto and will get off Pradaxa as soon as I pick it up. I did get a discount card, so my cosby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM

YIPPEE! I have been in touch with our insurance agent, who had suggested supplemental plans for me to sign up with before I was planning an ablation. He has assured me that since Scripps La Jolla is contracted with Medicare, any supplemental policy with cover the balance, since it is not the supplement they "take," but rather Medicare is the primary policy. Duke, I'm curious why your doctor put in a pacemaker? I don't really understand, but I thought a pacemaker basically "set" your heart rate and adjusted it to remain the same whether exercising, stress, etc., so I would think that would prevent an "irregular heartbeat" which is what I understand afib to be (although in varying scenarios). That's just my questby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
