Hi Ron, I got the original. I think the new one is still in trials and won’t be approved for awhile. Dr. Doshi in Santa Monica did the procedure at St. John’s.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I posted a couple of things since my Watchman procedure and didn’t get any response. The conversation just ended so I am starting here. My procedure went as you all said — very easy, on 1/31. I had a question about the TEE results just before the procedure and the conflicting results from the echocardiogram in a November, as follows: “I was just looking at the TEE results (I’ve never hadby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Liz. I’m not sure what happened as I have not had any response except you since 2/1. I feel like I have been black listed or something!by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I posted the following on Feb 1 but didn’t get any responses. I noticed Elizabeth re-postedit, so I’m not sure what happened. Anyway, still curious about the different echo results. Other than that I’m fine and will see Dr. Doshi on 3/13. “I was just looking at the TEE results (I’ve never had one before.) In part, “ The left atrium is slightly dilated. The right atrium is normal size.”by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good to know. Thank you, Larryby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’ve noticed a lot of “activity” in my heart since the procedure. I often have a rapid heart rate but I don’t feel it — just find out when I use my heart rate phone ap. Could this be an after effect of the propofol? Or possibly just shock to my body? Even being in permanent afib for years I’ve only rarely been aware of such “hard” beating. I walked to the Dr.’s office yesterday morning and myby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my Watchman procedure yesterday and, as you all said, it was a piece of cake! I was home by 3:30 pm with only a slight ache from the puncture. I was just looking at the TEE results (I’ve never had one before.) In part, “ The left atrium is slightly dilated. The right atrium is normal size.” In the results from my echocardiogram in November, it showed both were “severely dilated.”by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Liz! It looks like I’m never going to be in nsr, so the pacemaker will probably be next after the Watchman. I wonder if he can put them in at the same time! 😄by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone have a Watchman and a Pacemaker?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have only been taking 100mg of CoQ10 and I think I should up the dosage but am concerned that it interferes with blood thinners. Is there a magic dose that will benefit without interferences?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, rocketrich! I just got home. The procedure is still on and wasn’t the issue. My monitor showed that my average heart rate is 115! This was a shock to me because I hardly ever feel anything. Also, my heart stopped for 2.6 minutes once. So there is the possibility of a pacemaker down the road. As usual when I go to the Dr I forgot to ask an important question. Oh, he said my “venby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
As per above posts, I am scheduled for a Watchman next Thursday the 31st. On Jan 10th I was put on a monitor foe a week. Today the office called and I am going in this Friday to “discuss the monitor resuts.” Now I’m afraid there was something that might prevent the procedure. The surgery is still scheduled right now. Anyone have any insights as to why I’m being called in? Although I know itby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, AB. Now my only concern is re Elizabeth’s comment about the original Watchman, which is what I will be getting. What happens? Do they remove it? That sounds worse than the original surgery since heart tissue will have grown around it. Has the original mesh Ben a frequent problem?by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Carey. Given that timeframe I will go ahead. I do have a question I didn’t ask before. I’m wearing a monitor I am to turn in in a week with a diary of my activities and I thought the Dr. was going to review that and then make a final decision; but his office called yesterday to schedule the procedure. I’m guessing he just wanted to get it scheduled, assuming there won’t be anythingby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Carey. Do you have any idea when the FLX will be approved? This is not an urgent procedure for me and I wonder if I should wait for the “new and improved” device. Thank you.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, Lance. I wonder if I should wait for the new one...by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you very much for that, Rocketrich!by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am scheduled for a Watchman Implant on January 31 and am wondering if anyone who has done this could share your experience. Thank you. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
What’s the difference between The Watchman and Thhe Watchman FLX? Thank you, Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I as an avid runner until I had back surgery in 2006; so I stopped running because of jarring of the spine and a possible new injury (I had spinal stenosis). Then, I still walked rapidly and did weight training until 2010 when I was diagnosed with afib. When I had a stress test I was walking very slowly on a slight incline and the nurses told me to “quickly lie down, your rate is 200.” I did nby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry about duplicate messages. When I discovered my mistake I tried to delete the second one, but didn’t know how. Can anyone who has had a Watchman implanted please share your experience with the procedure and results? Dr. Doshi said it was a 30 minute easy procedure with essentially no recovery time. Thank you very much. Louiseby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hmmm, I thought I posted this earlier but I saw Dr. Doshi at Pacific Heart Institute in Santa Monica today. I am not a good candidate for conversion or ablation since I have been in afib for so long and it doesn’t really effect my lifestyle. I most likely am getting a Watchmsn. I am on a monitor for a week.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
I saw Dr. Doshi at that Pacific Heart Institute today. Because I have been in afib for so long and it doesn’t really effect my lifestyle, I am not a candidate for cardioversion or ablation. I am on a monitor for a week, and it sounds like I will get a Watchman implant. It won’t put me in NSR but I won’t have to take a blood thinner, which is my goal.by Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
In Hans’ latest book, page 44, it states: “The benefits of nattokinase persist for 18 hours or more and positive effects have been observed with as little as 50 mg. I’m not sure what persistent or permanent afib is. I have not been in NSR since I was diagnosed in 2010. Natale knew this. That’s why , when I hear these nightmare episodes people here describe I thought an irregular heart rate is not the same. My heart rate during the day can be in the 90s, usually if I’m feeling anxious, but is usually in the 70s to 80s. It is in the 60s when I remember toby Louise - AFIBBERS FORUM
