Dear Jim - thanks for your report and observations. I can hardly wait until I am discharge by "Dr. Personality." As outspoken as I am, I will probably have a comment or two for him. As I mentioned previously, we all know that they tell us it is not uncommon to experience afib after ablation. My neighbor had it very two or three months. It was noticeable but not anything she worby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Peg - thanks for your kind words of encouragement. You are the sweetheart. I can understand your need to get on with your life and off the drugs. It's a goal we all share. I am prepared for the procedure- both physically and mentally. I am also realistic enough to understand that there could be afib post-ablation and there could be more drugs. But, my mindset is toward a perfect ablby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news....sounds as if you received the best possible care... better, certainly than the CCF when it comes to "face" time. Good to hear everything went well. It doesn't get any better than NSR. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Adrian - sounds as if you found a good N.D. You can be sure that anytime you deal with holistic doctors, the liver cleanse comes up. Not a bad thing, actually since the liver has alot of work to do. I've done several and think I feel better because of it. Didn't help the afib, but certainly my liver has to be happier. Tom - What's left to drink...water! - good, pure, chemical free water and lots of it. If you drink enough, your thirst for anything else will disappear. The body needs hydration from water.... for every 50 pounds of body weight, one should try to consume about 1 liter. It's best to sip all day rather than down a liter at a time just to get it over. Bee - apparently you can be unaware. I always knew. No mistaking the thumping and jumping of the heart. However, at the fitness center while I was walking on the treadmill and comparing health notes with a fellow walker, he told me he was on meds for afib that he didn't know he had - couldn't feel - and was admitted to the hospital to be placed on drugs. He's fine and has nby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carol - I'm down to either 500 or 600 mg/day of the mag glycinate. Dr. Seelig says that when the body reaches saturation, it will eliminate the excess via kidney or bowel. I became a bit bowel intolerant and decided that was my sign. So I backed off from between 800 and 900. Tom - welcome to the group - sorry it's under the circumstances; but you've come to the right place for knowledge and support. We are a tireless group of compassionate afibbers all helping one another. Feel free to unburden yourself here. JP - I'm very sorry about your CCF experience. With all the discussion about Dr. Natale on this forum, I'm surprised you didn't request a consult with him. But since that's not an issue at this point, where do you go from here? Still considering CCF? Since I live here in Cleveland, we all know the pitfalls of a big operation like the CCF. Richard - I often thought that supplements - and I took so many - could be the problem..... with Fran's urging, I eliminated many and yes - the whey protein - and I even went so far as to be tested by kinesiology for sensitivity to the gelatin in the capsules.... Richard - if you run out of things to read about the MSG connection, consider the book, Excitotoxins by Russell L. Richard - In Dr. Murray's book, Encyclopedia of Supplements.... he states that the safe and adequate intake of copper for adults is 1.5 to 3 milligrams. Zinc interferes with copper absorption and is recommended at a ratio to copper of 10:1 so if zinc is supplemented at a dose of 30 mg. then it would require a dosage of 3 milligrams of copper. Hi Jim - glad to learn your Sunday afib resolved. I guess some ablation patients will fall into that category of some random afib events while the heart is in that recovery phase. Hang in there. At least you have some definitive improvement which is a very good sign. I'm pleased for you and look forward to reading your report. Relax and enjoy life. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Mike - I can try but don't hold your breath. I just recall that I was astounded at the amount of calcium that he was able to tolerate and really didn't get into much more of the details. Bill B - I'm not endorsing Dr. Rath - I haven't even read this information yet.... but I know a person who eliminated his afib by taking massive doses of Vit. Hi Stan - I've reported my experience with Flec before but here it is again. Aug. 2001 - placed on 50 mg. flec twice a day (hospitalized to do this) Controlled afib for about 2 months. Here I go again, beating the drum for magnesium! There could be a connection with afibbers/Tinnitis/ and magnesium deficiency. My only experience is with 1) Metagenics Mag Glycinate - works great. 2) Solgar chelated magnesium with calcium - promotes afib. You are young and should be enjoying all life has to offer. However, the longer you can wait, the better chance there is for improvement in the technique and a better success rate.
