Hi.... Anyone have any experience with Hearing Devices? Thoughts? In my case one ear is not very good.....by tibbar - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I get pacemaker checked every quarter...2 times at hospital and 2 times remotely. They even give me the print out. My pacemaker was showing many years of life left in it when it was last checked at MGH. Then one day I felt a little odd. I was not sure if it was afib or not (the rare times I am in Afib, I always know because so far I have been VERY symptomatic) and went to hospital. The pacemakeby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
yes, my bad. The battery had dropped down into like a reserve mode after 4 years (sooner by a lot than it was supposed to). My current new pace maker is on track to last 10-15 years. I dont pace all the time anyway. I think the one pause I had returning out of afib was the main reason Dr wanted. But since then using Flec i have been in afib rarely...but it did flare up one weekend in 2015 forby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry....it died (battery), even though it was supposed to last longer. That means you replace the whole pacemaker....which I did within a week rather than replace it in a few months. Since after getting the first pacemaker in 2008, I started taking flecainde, I very rarely have had a few very short bouts of afib....knock on wood. Thanksby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
I got knocked out for a colonoscopy the past Tuesday. Felt fine ill Saturday. Then lying down to sleep the room started spinning. Today, Sunday, a little nauseous, headachy, and watching my usually excellent balance. Weird....And insights.....Also, BP is up....I am hydrated.....hmmmmby tibbar - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Tsco, In the fall of 2007 I had a few short afib episodes. At the beginning of 2008 I had an episode during which I feinted for a few seconds. Mass General recommended a pacemaker in February 2008 (not a defibrillator) for 3 reasons: 1) to prevent a pause when converting back to regular beats, 2) to keep my normal 46 BPM rate a tad higher, 3) to have a chip recording of all myby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi, Not sure if this post should be in General Health, but I believe my experience ties directly to Afib. First of all, I thank all forum members and especially the regulars starting with Shannon, Jackie, George, Mike, Tom Researcher, and the many others who post and reply with great info and moral support. I am not on the site that much of late, because so far over the past many yby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, You are SO right re the "compassion and sprit of friendship". All your work makes the site a great source of information, but it is a well a source of inspiration. Thank Ypu.... Hey, a question: A friend at the Y I go to just had fluid build up in his pericardial sac. I guess it brought on afib as well. Drs are dealing with the whys and fixby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks for asking about input...I love the say it is "thread centered" and you get to hear/read from other afibbers. 1. Perhaps is there a better way to organize and maintain files on research studies and the most commonly used meds and combinations 2. Perhaps a better way to list medical centers and Doctors across US who do a lot of afib work or research. Thanks..... Joeby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Interesting. In my case, even though I am in SNR with Flec, now that I am turning 70 with controlled BP via Lisinopril, the Dr wants to put me on either warafin or Ellipsis. I prefer warafin since I was on it in 2007 when my afib first struck. Any advice? Hope all good with you....Joeby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon. That would be greatby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kappa, I don't know how you have endured so long given that your episodes have been so challenging. Trying to go about your day when the Afib is doing its thing and leaving you spent is awful. I could not handle what you have experience, and would have very reluctantly signed on for an ablation. For me, so far meds working most of the time, but I know your story is the moreby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jackie, A question. While Flec has so far for the past few years for the most part kept my afib from happening, because I am turning 70 and mt chad score is telling my Dr to put me on a thinner, Before I went on Flec I was on warafin which I had no trouble with. Dr though prefers Eliquis. Any reason I should not just go on what I was fine with before? Have nby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM

Shannon, Thank you for your reply. Can having a virus with a low grade fever contribute to getting an afib attack? Also, in Boston, is there a Dr Natalie type or two at one of the major hospitals?by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM

Alangord, Sorry for you that you are going through this? How long did the Flec work? When did have your first ablation? Where are you having the second one done. I assume you are very symptomatic. Good luck as you proceed. No fun. Tibbarby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thanks The Anti-Afib, Shannon, and Elizabeth, I appreciate your comments and inputs. I did have some kind of flu-feveree type thing in mid June that went away but snuck bacl a little last week. As always, I appreciate greatly the time and the info provided by all in this forum. I have been lucky that mostly my once weekly episodes became far an in between since going on Flec. I now (hopefully it remains that way) get one or two episodes every 8 - 12 months (since 2009). I am VERY symptomatic. Hi CC66, Hmmm....I had/have a few similar issues. I am now 68. in the 1980's and 1990's I use to take a beta blocker for borderline high blood pressure (say 120/90)...as I got older my heart rate which was always on the low side got to being around say 52. Switched around 2000 to Lisinopril (ACE). Late 2007 started to get a afib once in awhile. Fby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
