Jackie, Over the years you have been SO very helpful to me and many others in giving of your time and your knowledge. Best to you for a quick and full recovery. Joeby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting reading the posts on this topic -- Triggers (and stoppers) in general always get my attention. I have been lucky in the last couple of years with flec keeping my episodes to a few. But there was a time getting episodes every week or so where I was pretty sure trying to sleep on my left side increased the odds I might get an episode. I believe I had this opinion BEFORE I read about itby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Yes, I found Nichol's book in your resources/references section of your report. Ordering it from Amazon tonight. Your other referenced look very helpful as well. THANK YOU!by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Not sure if this link has ever been posted re article on heartburn in WSJ. I just saw this story for the first time. Interesting that it references the role of stress.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Louise is spot on in recognizing how much you give to help others be informed. Thank you.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Hans. Lisa, Jackie and all all the forum. You are amazing. Jackie, I have forwarded your report to my son and look forward to seeing your additions. MUCH appreciated!by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry to be off topic, but I was wondering if any one has experience and/or knows a Dr expert in a GERD condition our 33 year old son is experiencing. This past week he could not sleep two nights because of involuntary swallowing spasms. Prior to this, for about the past 8 months to a year, he has had a tickle in his throat like post nasal drip, that his GP says could be or is from GERD.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Hans....for all you have done and do. May 2013 be a healthy one for all.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Reading your writeup.... makes a lot of what many of us have gone through pale comparison. I hope you can take your road back day by day. You have already done so well getting through what was thrown at you. It has to be so challenging. I hope others here on the forum more knowledgeable than might have some thoughts. Best to you.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Any name (or names)I might suggest to my friend. He is a permanent afibber. Thanks.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom, Just catching up on these posts. I take 50 mg of Flec in AM and 100 mg 12 hours later for the last 3 years or so. It has reduced my episodes to shortish ones 3-4 times a year. I take 25 mg of Metoprolol.....I had trouble with Atenolol. Like you and the others posting here, I have learned so much here on Han's site. Thank you all.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
As Always This Group is a GREAT resource and its inputs MUCH appreciated -- First question: I have a 70 year old friend who has been in permanent afib for several years but without too many symptoms. He finally agreed to get cardio converted to see how he might feel in SR (if the conversion took for a few days or more). No luck converting and they tell him they noticed his pulse rate is lowerby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Has anyone had an experience with Stapedectomy surgery (ear operation) ? Thanks.by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, Thank you for taking time to tell us your cardio Dr history. You and the others on this site are IMMENSELY helpful -- not just in that you help us with the medical/biological part of the equation, but also in that you help us with dealing with the other aspects of living with afib. In November of 2007 I had an Afib episode of a few hours and wentby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, I take 25 mg of metoprolol (beta blocker for rate control) and 50 mg morning/100 mg at night of Flecainide ( for rhythm) and I take 30 mg of Lisinopril (Ace Inhibitor) that keeps my blood pressure in normal range (125/75). Have not had but one short afib this year. Knock on wood. I think though that walking and doing tai chi and working on my breathing pattern have also helby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hans, Thanks!by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Kay, I think you raise a good question: If you are on some blood pressure med like Lisinopril which is working, how real is the concern of getting too much potassium? Does that drug cause some people to hold onto potassium?by tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom, GREAT that all is going well for you! I, like you, are most appreciative of the many hours spent and insights provided by the many knowledgeable forum regulars. A grateful thank you to all. Not just for the practical medical type info, but also for the support. Like you Tom, I am at the moment pretty much afib free (and in good health at age 66), but as all suby tibbar - AFIBBERS FORUM
