I had dental implant surgery four months after a successful ablation. Dentist wanted me off Eliquis for several days. He consulted with my EP and I stopped it for 3 days. The day after surgery, I went into AFlutter with heart rate in the 150s. Because I had interrupted Eliquis, I had to wait 3 weeks for an ECV. I remained in AFlutter, with a couple short bursts of AFib. Not fun! Thankfully, the Eby Lorraine - AFIBBERS FORUM

Caps Lock was not one. I tried several times being very careful. Hubby then tried on his iPad. Neither works. Strange that I used to be able to log in on the iPad and now I can't. QuoteCarey That sounds like it could have been a conversion pause causing a near-syncope episode. If you ever feel that way again during AF, I would recommend sitting down immediately right where you are before you faint and hit the floor hard. And if it happens again, tell your EP about it. Good news. My sweet, lovable heart self-converted at about 9:15! Yeah!!! It really worked hard to get there though and put me through the wringer. I was standing at the time when I started to feel woozy, head spinning, ears ringing, weak as all get out, felt like I had to poop (sorry!). Hubby had to walk me to the recliner. This morning, on the one-year anniversary of my second ablation, at 4:35 am I woke up in Afib. HR is registering 173. Most likely triggered by a chronic lung condition that has flared up again. Not sure what to do. Only med I’m on is Eliquis. I was on bisoprolol but stopped it in early January on EPs direction. Thanks Carey and George. What you say makes sense. So I've decided to not participate in the trial. And thanks for the suggestion about half-dosing, Carey. I will talk to my EP about that.by Lorraine - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, Carey. I have no other risks beyond being female and over 75. TEE was done in Feb 2020 just before ablation. Report said "aortic value is trileaflet and minimally thickened." Does that make me a 3? Good to know that Xarelto and Eliquis are comparable. May I ask why you would not participate in the nothing group if it were you? ECV was done three weeks later on July 17. Heart rate then and for next few days in the 80s and 90s. Thereafter, dropping into the 70s and high 60s. QuoteCarey Well, sounds like you had a rough go of it for a while, but I'm not seeing the problem now. An elevated resting heart rate is perfectly normal and to be expected for many months following an ablation. Your BP is to be envied, even at what you think are elevated levels. I would not be concerned in the least if I were you. Well that’s a relief! I will stop fretting then. 😊 Whiby Lorraine - AFIBBERS FORUM
