So far so good. Only discomfort is site of jugular IV they took off but ice pack helps. Love this hospital! 152 food allergies and head of dietary came in and asked for a list and she went to Whole Foods. Staff perfect. Dr. Natalie was great B’IH. His staff great. I’m very happy with my decision. Nsr with normal tachy but it’s lowering. I’ll post tomorrow.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George! I’m at his office for our meet and greet appointment and I am unbelievably calm. I’ll post after the ablation. It should be around 1-3pm PT.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all. I went to sleep early actually slept like a baby but got up at 3 with bad GERD frustrating I forgot to ask if it’s ok to take my Prilosec and went back to sleep .I just woke up and I feel great looking forward to the procedure is like ripping a Band-Aid off. Getting it done with. My son’s plane just landed. He flew in from Israel to be with me this week. Lemonade.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
so its less than a day. I'm told Dr. Natale does his difficult or patients with complications on Wednesdays and he arranged instead of Thursday to have it tomorrow to give me another day with Dr. Natale in town. He has a patient who is serious having it done and I am #2. He leaves Saturday morning. It is better. its been a rocky past 2-3 weeks. I was cardio converted on the 19th when in AF and v-tac that kept me in ICU cardio ward for 3 days, it lasted 10 blissful days, then AF with high 181 HR so I was advised to get cardio converted in case it turned into v-tac again. That was done by Dr. H in ER. I had 4 days of NSR and it returned....friendly ER dr noticed the past notes and zapped me. Then the pastby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I want to share something I feel is important before anyone calls up apple for support. DO NOT CALL APPLE TECH AND EVER MENTION YOU HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH AF. According to their legal department , "the Apple Watch is not designed for patients diagnosed with Afib". That said, they will not give you tech support AND stop answering your questions....and also I speculate they will block oby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you for all the good wishes. Yes with a Valium my HR is under 100, sometimes high 70s to 90s. Once ER confirmed AF @67. Without a Valium it jumps to 184 my highest. I don’t have much symptoms with low hr but I knew at 67 I was in afby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am not as worried now as before getting it done...however I have to try to remain in NSR since I stopped Flecainide cold turkey on the 19th. I went into AF four days apart twice since stopping flecainide and had to be converted, as per Dr. Natale's PA advise because I had v-tac on the 19th. She advised calling 911 instead of driving 20 minutes to my favorite pro-cardio conversion ER.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you. California now checks doctors carefully for abusing benzos so he may not refill the Valium even tho it may help control my AF from returning . His colleague got into trouble. I didn’t get much. For today I have PACs but I’m ok and I am accepting my decision.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Chicken fish and almonds contains K and mg. That’s what I eat for protein plus egg whites so I don’t supplement mg until recently. My Primary dr took s mg test so I supplement mg now even with a rich diet. I had all of my jejunum and part of my duodenum removed so I don’t easily absorbed vitamins from my intestines. I drink two low sodium V-8 (5.5 oz) daily and another two only when in Afib comes. Not sure if it worsting it but in the past two v-8 (11 ox total of two cans) would convert me in 20-45 minutes. Thank you all. I woke up in NSR so all is good. I used to be calm. When 18 I moved to Hawaii to attend univ of H and went to the beach daily just to relax and watch the waves. During chemo I had a choice of facilities UCLA offered but picked the furthest on the beach in Santa Monica. 4 hours in infusion on the top floor on 20th street with a complete wall of glass watching the waves made chemby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you. I am calming down now and will hope my Iatrogenesis complications are in the past. I’m so sensitive that atenolol and Prilosec doesn’t work well and I need the brand name. I can’t get brand name of Prilosec in America (I can’t take OTC). I feel better not on flecainide. I had so many side effects such as no sleep with flecainide. I would stay up until 5am unless I had a sleeping pill.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am scheduled in two weeks for an ablation. My gosh...what happened to you that made poor Lorraine's ordeal small ?by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
how often can one get converted? I usually get 50 joules. I was converted Monday and past Thursday. I am sure the ER won't do it every other day until I get my ablation. I kept asking everyone...is it safe to be converted often? I don't get any complications at my local Er...only once at Cedars when the cowboy gave me a cocktail of etomidate, fentanyl [25mg by vein!, and ondansetronby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
being off flecainide was day and night better. My major grip was not being able to sleep when on Flecainide. Now I sleep like a baby. My cardiologist took me off the water pill, lowered in half my blood pressure meds and reduced my 25mg 2/day to 12.5mg when needed each day as long as my resting HR is 60. I am more peaceful without it. I looked it up on drugs.com and a side effect is being nervousby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
If you ever asked me prior to today what odds would I ever consider an ablation, I would say negative infinity. however today I saw Dr. Natale's PA in Thousand Oaks, CA and they had an opening in 14.5 days so I am on the list. In the past my af was manageable. I was on flecainide since 2004 and for 5 years I was in NSR... and would get af about every 3 years, then once every 2 yearsby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Question is will he do it or is his setting a teaching lab where non admitting fellows or interns train? Also will burning be worst with my sensitivity than freezing? I always wanted to use him. That was always my plan but I’m told I need an ablation this upcoming week or the latest the following week so I may not have time unless I go on A different Rx until I wait if allowed, no upcoming stby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
My output exceeds input. It was monitored in icu. I won’t take Tenormin unless it’s over 60 —25mg x2/day has kept me in range since 1987. But today standing is over 70 and sitting as low as 44 so I am holding off the tenormin. I was diagnosed with mitral valve disease (now aorta too) in 1987 way before AF and took Tenormin for my valves. It’s a tough drug to go cold turkey. I had to do it in 2004by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
From experience I can add most ERs won’t convert unless you are on thinners or they admit you first for a short esophagus ultrasound to rule out Clots. Or if you can convince them you know when you are in AF and can produce a strip proving being in NSR the past 48 hours. I was lucky in 2005 being a beta tester for Afib monitors and got a few free ones from different companies to try out. Researchby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM

I am told I need an ablation. Anyone heard of either Dr Noori at Cedar Sinai or Dr Shehata? I met them both, 1st is who I was impressed with because he didn’t rush me out during the 1st visit- 1 hour medical history and another 30 minutes chat answering my questions. He is private. My HR standing is 67, sleeping 47. Much better than 23! I have ortho-statin(spelling?) in which I am very dizzy when standing with higher HR and BP than sitting or laying. They are holding my water pill because my output is much more than my input the last 3 days. It’s a continuous big pee a lot of Afib gets upon AF but I still have it. My BNP test is elevated. I just got home from 3 days in ICU cardio unit. I didn’t know that taking the 3rd pill during Afib (I was on 100-2/day) would lower my HR. I figured repeated cardio conversions 3 a month for 3 months followed by a 4th 12 days later caused the 44 HR that never increased. I was taking advise from my cardiologist and ER staff to increase to 300 (100-3/day), but they wanted me pass it by my EP.I callby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
