Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with taurine. I’ve been thinking about adding it to my regiment for some time now. Hearing your firsthand account is promising.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN I've taken a few grams/day of taurine for around 22 years. I was on Eliquis for a few months at 5mg 2x/day without issue with the combination. Are you taking a taurine supplement? Has it helped you maintain your heart rhythm?by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for sharing your ablation history and the good advice, Carey. My Apple Watch ECG showed an inconclusive result. I now have a Kardia 6L and will use it next time if needed.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
9 years AF-free after ablation sounds amazing and gives a lot of hope to many of us here. Quick question, if you don’t mind—have you ever experienced any other types of arrhythmias, such as tachycardia or atrial flutter? Or has your heart been completely calm and normal? I’m asking because I had a successful ablation 3 years ago, but recently had an episode of tachycardia (150–160 bpm) thatby Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteKen Two successful ablations, first good for 13 years, the second for 6 years, but unfortunately, there have been some breakthroughs. Afib will always come back. 13 years and 6 years sounds amazing, though still discouraging to hear "Afib will always come back". Has anyone had just one ablation and remained AFIB free for decades?by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
I found that book helpful as well. Dr. John Day also hosted a podcast from 2019-2021 called "Get Your Life Back in Rhythm: How to Keep Your Heart Young and Free of Disease". I enjoyed listening to them during my daily walk back then.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree—and try not to panic if you experience ectopic beats. Be patient and give your heart time to recover, as everyone heals differently. My own recovery was slower than average. With my EP's permission I stopped Eliquis, Flecainide, and Metoprolol about 1.5 months after my ablation due to low blood pressure and stomach issues. Had one 2.5-hour episode at the 7‑month mark, which was suby Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting. I just started using Magnesium Chloride spray after gym workout, hope it helps with recovery.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for taking the time to write this out. I like the idea of AFib as a warning signal — it gives a lot to think about. The dental/sinus connection especially resonated with me.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's a lot to endure, Susan. I am glad the procedure went so well and your PVCs have stopped. Wishing you a smooth recovery and a healthy strong heart in the days to come.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jim, I don’t use K-Cups at home anymore because I’m trying to avoid microplastic exposure. I read George’s post here a while back and switched to organic coffee using a French press. I also drink organic matcha as an alternative when I want a change.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
You may want to look into the underlying cause of your congestion and address it directly. For me, my congestion cleared up after I removed dairy from my diet.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good to know, I wonder if green tea offer the same benefits as coffee.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotemjamesone Personally, I never let them put on the mask until I see and identify my doctor walking into the room! That's smart! I was knocked out before the EP made it into the ORby Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey What does a low histamine diet look like? There’s a long list of dos and don’ts, but the core principle of a low-histamine diet is to eat fresh foods and avoid processed foods, fermented foods and leftovers. For me, I’ve found that the worst triggers are cured meats (I used to eat smoked salmon and sausages) and aged cheese. I cook every day now and only eat out occasionally.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
I used to have year-round allergy symptoms—stuffy nose, headaches, skin rashes—and used Flonase off and on without heart issues, though it didn’t really help. Last year, I finally discovered the root cause after an allergy test: histamine intolerance. Since then, I’ve been following a low-histamine diet, and it has brought significant relief.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes, I had one 2 hours episode 7 month after the ablation, which was terminated with Flecainide and Diltiazem. I was advised not to be too concerned unless I experience more episodes.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN Being in the latter category, I empirically found that long duration high intensity exercise was a trigger. Could you clarify what you mean by “long duration”? How long is that — over an hour?by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan, yes I had a PF ablation with him. Sorry you are suffering so much, I hope you get some relief soon.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's very frustrating. Hope you get a call back soon. I had a good experience with Dr. Reddy and his team 2 years ago. As Susan said there might be a long wait, but worth to try. Wish you luck.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been using Advil sporadically and have had no issues.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteQwackertoo My issues have always been the upper teeth with horrible allergies my entire life with many sinus infections as a result and those roots being so far up and near the sinus cavities. One of my upper molars has been troubling me for decades. It all started with a sinus infection. A root canal lasted 15 years, and then I finally had an implant done a few years ago. Now I brush afteby Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry to hear this. Sounds like you are 5-month post ablation, and your symptom did not improve as expected. I'd probably get in line for a touch up. Did your EP say what method will he use, Radiofrequency?by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
A friend recommended Unisom for sleep, is it safe for Afibbers? Can anyone share your experience with it?by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotecornerbax I'm sure others can chime in with good info but if you actually had AFIB 7 Months post ablation that would likely mean your ablation didn't completely prevent the erratic signals from getting through or you have another area or areas that are Causing Afib and which can progressively get worse over time. Do you know definitively your one episode was Afib and not flutteby Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotecornerbax If, after 90 days Afib is still present the ablation 100% failed. hmmm..I don't know about this and certainly hope this is not true. The only episode of AF happened to me after my PFA was in 7 months, when I thought I passed the blanking period already. I am 19-month post ablation today and hope to continue to be AF free.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have several cups of green tea and 1 cup of decaf coffee every day with no issues. The one episode of Afib I had after ablation was triggered by a strong cup of Ginseng tea. I threw away the whole box of Ginseng tea bags after that.by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
haha, I needed some laugh this morning, thanks to gloaming Congratulations, pokey!by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotegloaming It wasn't 100%, but so often that it ruined sleeping that way until I got my second ablation. So no more limitations after your 2nd ablation?by Yuxi - AFIBBERS FORUM
