Has anyone taken this antibiotic? I have a Respiratory Infection and I need a antibiotic. I ran doxycycline in 2 different drug checker interaction sites with the meds I take and found no side effects.

It is Friday; I live in the country and no Doctor offices are open.

5 mg Valium a day as needed.
20 mg Prozac daily
15 mg Prevacid a day
60 cc shot of Testosterone Cypionate every 10 days. Testosterone is low due to schedule two narcotics.

Neurontin 900mg a day (for Neuropathic pain IC/CPPS)

81 mg aspirin 1X a day. Heart Doctor order due to stent installed in Jan. 2012.
2.5 mg Eliquis 2X a day

Miralax 1x a day for constipation issues. I have tried so many different methods for Constipation since 2008. Fiber is in my diet but to much Fiber really Constipates me.

Hi,
Different drugs affect different people in various ways...however doxycycline is a staple among antibiotics and is used worldwide. I have used it for as long as 6 months continuously without side effects other than the issues of gut bacteria die-out (from such a long use). It was a life-saver for me.

In certain parts of the world doxycycline is prescribed for anti-malaria prophylaxis. I have taken it several times when scuba diving in Papua New Guinea, only side effect was increased sun sensitivity so use sun block and stay in the shade.
