I had an ablation with Steven Hao at CPMC, not Dr. Natale, but I can tell you the CPMC set-up is excellent, fully staffed with 24-hour phone coverage.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM

My takeaway from the Canadian government decision is that although evidence on nattokinase indicates benefit, there is no guidance whatsoever regarding the effective dosage to bring it up to the reliability of Eliquis, Xeralto or Coumadin (or even aspirin) for stroke prevention. Effective dosage of nattokinase is, in fact, what many here have been struggling with. No one knows what's tooby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quote....Evidence demonstrating potential health benefits of Nattokinase in humans is very limited. To date, the effects of Nattokinase on the prevention of first heart attack or stroke has not been studied. Only one very preliminary study tested the effects on Nattokinase on the secondary prevention of heart attack and stroke. With respect to cardiovascular risk factors, Nattokinase had no eby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
According to this blogger who claims "background is in pharmacy and allopathic medicine," the dosage of nattokinase to prevent blot clots in humans has not been established -- which corresponds to my reading of the literature.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am finding my limit on taurine is 250mg in the morning, otherwise it is excitatory in a very uncomfortable way. I may eventually add 250mg in the evening. A doctor who knows about such things says individual tolerance for taurine varies. When you go over yours, you get the paradoxical excitatory effect -- which is why "energy" drinks are loaded with it.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
A lot of people are having trouble factoring in exorbitant deductibles as a cost of their health insurance vs the ACA coverage. If you have to pay a $12,000 deductible first, you're paying $1,000 per month to get anything -- on top of your monthly payments. It's probably not millions losing substandard coverage, it's more like thousands. Still, it's not what they want as coby Iatrogenia - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I've taken a quick tour around the documentation for nattokinase and, other than intuitively based support for it in the naturopathic or alternative medicine community, I cannot see that it has any better scientific documentation than aspirin (which has been much more thoroughly studied) to forestall blood clotting in atrial fibrillation -- and it is at least 1000 times more expeby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
Are there any problems with 81mg aspirin per day?by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
joey -- You really can't go wrong with supplementing mag, your body will tell you when you're taking too much -- with gut distress or diarrhea. (Excess magnesium is excreted through the gut, where it draws in water. This is why it's good for constipation.) Start low and go slow to find your own personal tolerance level. I found initially I could handle only 50mg doses. I'mby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM

It shows there's procrastination about recommending for ablation even among EPs. Perhaps ablations are not as safe or effective in their localities, and they have a bad name. Or maybe it's just ignorance.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
I found I could only tolerate increases of 50mg magnesium at a time. You might want to split up capsules or tablets. Even now, I'm only up to about 400mg mag glycinate. Everyone's tolerance differs. I'd also experiment carefully with potassium supplementation, if I were you.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
Given that low magnesium is endemic and all you can do for low mag is to supplement to the level of bowel tolerance, it makes sense to start supplementing mag and not wait for an Exatest.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks very much, Shannon. My limitation is that it's been very difficult for me to find doctors who know anything about anything, much less the kind of subtle hormone replacement therapy you're using. Will message you.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM

A psychologist might offer some help in learning coping methods. All a psychiatrist would do is write a prescription for more drugs, which will complicate the situtation. They don't know enough about psychiatric drugs to prescribe them safely alone, much less in combination with cardiac drugs. The fewer drugs you take, the better it is for your body. Try increasing by a quarter of a tablet, then after a while, a half-tablet, etc. A jump from 200mg to 400mg a day might be too much for you. I could increase by only 50mg at a time.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM

Is there some reason to take iron when ferritin is not low? I understand excess iron can be harmful.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
I also have low B vitamins and two MTHFR mutations (which interfere with B vitamin absorption). I also cannot take B vitamins, they are too activating. I have taken Metafolin (L-methylfolate), the absorbable folate for MTHFR polymorphism, in the past but it may be too activating now. I also have early-stage Hashimoto's (thyroid hormones in normal range). My ferritin is low-normal. Tby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
