I had a very odd reaction this week to supplementation with potassium. I've been taking magnesium for years, currently up to 350mg per day. I know it's wimpy, but that's my bowel tolerance. In my multivitamins etc., I've been taking 130mg potassium per day. After reading here, I increased potassium by 150mg in divided doses to a total of 280mg per day. I had the same problem. There was a question near the end about women and ablation. He said there is no clear evidence that outcomes differ in women. He said there was less data on women because far fewer women were referred for ablation, and attributed this to women being misdiagnosed with anxiety when they complain of heart symptoms. He condemned this, which greatly endeared him to me.by Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks very much, Jackie. I've been tested for H. pylori -- negative. It's been quite a while since I had vit D tested, but I've been supplementing with D2 for a long time. No celiac disease. - I believe Exatest is here (covered by Medicare, some insurance) - Are you referring to the NutriVal FMV here ? I saw many afibbers here were reporting permanentlyincreased heart rate after ablation, possibly because some vagal nerves are ablated, in passing, during the procedure, reducing parasympathetic input to heart rhythm. Thank you very much for your response, Jackie. It is heartening to hear of your success in managing your a-fib holistically. I've been using holistic methods to recover from the autonomic insult I received 8 years ago. I've been taking 3,000-4,000 EPA+DHA in fish oil for years. (I have no doubt whatsoever that it's good for the nervous system.) I've also been taking natby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM

I see these tests for nutrients being mentioned: - Exatest - NutrEval - Alcat food sensitivity test - Others?? What do we use these tests for? How often do we need to get them? Hello, afibbers -- I call myself Iatrogenia because I believe my health problems have been caused by drug treatment gone wrong. I've summarized my situation in my signature. In a nutshell: - Age 62, female, no risk factors (no high blood pressure, cholesterol issue, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, artery obstruction etc). - Autonomic instability since severe Paxil withdrawal inby Iatrogenia - AFIBBERS FORUM
