I just had the strangest thing! My latest RBC Mg test came back at 6.2!! I've never been above 5,8. It leaped up from 5.0 just one month prior. Three things may have been the cause..... I stopped taking my Mg Glycinate Chelate powder sipping it all day, and switched to the same brand (Designs for Health) Magnesium Buffered Chelate BisGlycinate Same amount, 750 mg (I started stow and bby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone use dry sauna to relax , detox, and heal? If so, what brand/type. Near infrared or far? Also, has anyone had good success with the supplement brand "Bulk Supplements?" I try to run everything through Consumer Labs but they don't test every brand of every supplement . I want to take inositol in a powder. I have been taking the Solar brand, but getting 4 graby LaniB - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Yes! Stress is huge! Are you getting enough magnesium and potassium? I'd try to keep up the Flec PIP. How much do you take at a time? Maybe it's not enough for you. I never heard of Flec PIP from any of the 9 different cardiologists (some were EP's ). I read about it here, asked, and it's working for me. Try hypnosis, daily meditation, deep breathing, YOGA, anything tby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM

My recommendation would be to get your RBC Mg tested at request a test. Dr. Denis Goodman in his book Magnificent Magnesium says that below 5.5 mg/dl is flirting with an arrhythmia. Everyone here likes the EXAtest better, which checks all of the minerals, so you may want your doc to order one of those. Great idea to extend your eating window a little bit and end it earlier. I have read that the longer you are in Afib, the more your heart gets used to it, and the longer you are in NSR, the same. I have a friend whose EP put him on Amio for 3 months and after the wash out, his AF never returned! Maybe you'll be so lucky! Hang in there! Try to think positive. Meditate to relax. The stress of worrying about going into AF used to bering it on for me. I usby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dear Betty Lou, I vote for getting the ablation, Mine was a pice of cake, basically no recovery other than they told me not to lift anything over 10 pounds for a week or two. I'd do it again if the AF came back. I'm following the advice of Dr. John D Day"s book, the Afib Cure, to stay normal. I'm not on ANY meds other than bioidentical hormone replacement. (age 68). Yes! by all means, lower your expectations! (for a while anyway, then gradually increase your activities) You can't see what the inside of your heart looks like. Your body is still healing. If you could see in there, I'm guessing your would take it easy for a while longer. Remember the "blanking period" is it 3 or 6 months? Just remember you are healing from wounds. My nurse practitioner has written RX's for Mg IVs but is a little reluctant since she's not well versed in it. With an Rx, I can go to an infusion center and only have a $10. co pay. Going to an integrative MD or NP for an IV costs about $150. to $175. each, OUCH! I am struggling to bring up my Mg level. I know I need an exactest and will get one soon, but have been following along with RBC Mg tests for the last cpl of years. I can never seem to get above 5.8 mg/dl (where Cardiologist Dr. Denis Goodman in Magnificent Mg says 5.5 is deficient) I take the suggested best absorbed types of Mg to bowel tolerance, take an Epsom Salt bath 2 to 3 X a week, spraby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM
My suggestion would be to read all of the resources that are offered on Afibbers.org. Especially Dr. John Day's book "The Afib Cure" and Dr Mildred Seelig's book "The Magnesium Factor" There are so many factors that contribute to the cause of Afib, but I'd start with getting a Magnesium Red Blood Cell test from requestatest.com to just find out what your Mgby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a friend who is new to Afib who has been in AF at about 80 BPM for over a week. His doc gave him the option of having a TEE and then cardioversion or to get on anticoagulant medication and wait for a month to see if he can convert on his own and then do the carrdioversion.. What would you do? He elected to wait it out on the anticoagulant while he reads up AF, Dr. John Day's bookby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM

thanks so much LJ and Susan D for posting!!! I have not been able to find a Dr. who will order the Exatest, and it would be so great if Medicare covered it!!! I do have an appointment with Dr. John D Day who wrote "The Afib Cure" next week, so hopefully he'll be able to help me get the proper test!by LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Afibbers will tell you to take the TRAACS formula for better absorption. Dr.'s Best has that, but when I took it for 3 months to bowel tolerance, my RBC Mg level stayed the same. I am trying to increase it because I'm still in a low range, just barely over the deficient RBC Mg of 5.5 Mg/dl. What do ectopics feel like? Are they a precursor to Afib? I hope you can find a way to do some deep breathing through your nose during the day at work to try to relax your body and mind a little and try to bring down the cortisol level. I've been there with all of that anxiety. My AF most of the time would come on in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, so it got to the point where I'd be afraid to go to sleep at night. Then I discovered that MSG could trigger me, so I became afraid to eat ANYTHING that might have it. So that meant I basically only ate what I cooked, since I knew what was in it. After 8 months of heavenly blissful NSR, (from having an ablation), Afib has returned about every other day now lasting more hours each day. Today was 14 hours, then I always convert back to NSR on my own. If your gums aren't happy, after brushing a full two minutes every single corner of your mouth and flossing very thoroughly, try using a water pik with some mouthwash added. At a certain age when gums recede and food gets trapped without us knowing, brushing and flossing has to be done after each meal. Then water pik once a day for sure. There's a book called "Death by Calcium" by Dr. Tom Levy.. There's calcium in just about every food we eat; meat, fish, eggs, beans, nuts, vegetables, greens (except iceberg lettuce and coconut) so I think it'd be hard to be deficient. I have been taking as much magnesium as my body will safely tolerate without having loose bowels, 1,050 mg per day of various different types, changing every 3 to 6 months, plus applying magnesium "oil" to my entire body 2 times per day for about 18 months. I had an 8 hour episode 3 days after ablation, then a 16 hour episode 2 days after that. That was a lot like I was before the ablation for monthis i had it almost every day for long periods. I did try oral DMSA because I was worried the IV type would be too much for my system. I was having AF about once a month back then. The Doc I saw RX 750 mg 3X day for 3 days, then off for 11 days.
