A vg point. Ive qustioned the same criteria. If you are 80 its 5 mg. If you are thin 125-30? 5 mg. Ok so what if you are 75 and 150? Wouldnt 7.5 mg be logical? How can it be black and white? It cant. Ive read that some cardiology is confident that 5 mg is enough period even in LAA isolation. But i dont question Dr Natale. He knows more than me lolby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
And Carey is correct. Taking eliquis doesnt need to be enhanced with other clot protection. But! Say someone has the Watchman. Goes off eliquis but wants natural anticoagulation? We all know of Natto Garlic Ginger Wobenzyme Fish Oil etc etc. that person could be me? Idk yet. We ll see. TEE 3/31 then im sure eliquis is continued then??? So no crystal ball but i enjoy trying to figure. For me exerby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM

There have been some very interesting stuff come out on the use of olive oil at reducing clot risk. I take a swig first thing every am on an empty stomachby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
My perspective: absolutely not. No alcohol. Now months after my 8-6-21 Natale ablation ill drink a tad. One beer but for me i have a history of linking it as a trigger And also of course the use of anticoagulation and alcohol is a no. I know for some alcohol isnt. For me i drink coffee every morning and always have. Nothing. Alcohol another storyby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Its never once effected me. It will increase HR but many believe that this may be the reason it wards off afib as a slow HR seems more vulnerable to setting off an episode. Ive never used 100 mg! Always when i have used it probably 20 mg a partial pill. Also interesting is that it was touted as a covid treatment lolby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news Barb!!! I like Jay and Susan have my TEE 3/31 theirs are about the same date Dr Natale agreed to let me have Dr Holshouser here in Charlotte do mine. He places The Watchman and i have great confidence in him Austin sent their instructions as wellby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Maybe the cath insertion is an outa date assumption but i just remember years ago a customer in my store had an ablation and they nicked and vein going in and it was a disaster. And: no ablation. So ill assume nowdays its not a frequent accident Thanks Shannonby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
One question i learned years ago on this site: who inserts the catheters??? You want the EP to say i doby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Makes total logic. Besides im Not entering a power lifting contest. I had two talks with Dr Natale and one with Watchman. Neither mentioned: now be very careful! The device could come out! No sudden moves no cycling no moving furniture no spreading mulch etc etc. so ill take it that lighter weight training is safe. Yes the tug test im sure was done. Susan I appreciate your erring on safety but iby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. My groin sites are perfect. They were perfect the morning after. Natale s group does little things. The collagen plugs. They had me on colchicine. Holshouser never did. They gave me lasix the first morning. Holshouser never did So i never had any fluid or pericarditis. Its little things. No urinary cath. Etc. it sets them apart. One interesting thing Dr Natale told me: he haby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
If the LAA is silent. The watchman flex has prongs. But id hate for it to end floating around my chest. Loose. Omgby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I didnt ask Dr Natale but am 8 days out and would like to resume my weight lifting even easing back into it. Am i safe with the Watchman placed on 2/16? My TEE is 3/31 I just do not want to risk having it experience movement or sealing etc he said my LAA was silent Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
If its right flutter its easy. So she needs an ekg no? To determine if its flutter and wether R or Lby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes watchman told me ill get a plastic sleeve as its folds out so laminating not a good idea. Yes Carey correct on bacteria threat in first 6 months. So antibiotics for dental Im 8 days now. Been on 3, one hr walks. Gonna ease back to gym soon. Think theyre Lifting mask mandate here. Hope that nat infection and vax gives all of us some Herd! We re all sick of itby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I received a phone call from Minneapolis MN this am. Boston Scientific re my Watchman. I provided details for Dr Natale s work. Size 31 etc. she wanted to know if i had my card. No. So theyre mailing it. She did say antibiotics for dental work in the next 6 months and that the card has MRI instructions should i need an MRI. We discussed my TEE 3/31 and that Dr Natale told me the Flex has a lessby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes Barb I have followed your journey. I too hope your TEE is clear at 6 weeks He told me the flex has a less that 10% leak risk. Best to you!by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Many here know the name. Ill assume few have had a procedure by him. Ive had 2. 8/6/21 left flutter ablation of LAA and CS. I learned of him many yrs ago right here. 2010ish? But i liked my EP in Charlotte: Warren Holshouser Naval Academy Univ of NC med school univ of VA residency. High iq. He ablated me in 2012 pvi. Vg! Lasted tll march 2021 when atypical flutter began. I agreed to his ablationby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM

Oh ok. And btw i got no id card or watchman card nothing. I asked Natale. He seemed confused he said i might get something from Watchmanby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes he mentioned that. Plus i had a CT in august. Look i totally trust what he decides. He s done how many ablations? Laughable How many Watchman s probably a few thousand. He told me leak risk at 45 days with the Flex is well under 10%. The first generation he said was close to 30% ! Probably what you have Careyby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dr Natale told me he scoped the LAA first before any ablating or Watchman placement. It wasnt a classic TEE so im not exactly sure but he seemed confident on its function and opening size. Im so sleep deprived wow mon night not great. Tues horrible at hotel due to 430 awake the last night in hospital. The hospital even gave me a ride back to the hotel! No uber. So the nurse wheeled me down. Weby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jeanie here (Grittygirl) made me laugh months ago after her Watchman by Dr Natale her daughers called it a Walkman. We all had one right! Sony yellow Huey Lewis The Police Michael etc. well Dr Natale placed a size 31 Watchman in me yesterday. Right now im drinking coffee back at the hotel in Austin. I was patient 2. 10:15-1130 done. No TEE. He went in said my LAA was silent. He did touchup oneby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
We all meet here for the same basic reason yet not 2 of us are twins in our struggle. I think if i could choose a single person at this invaluable site to “catch a break” itd be Susan. Praying this is a step towards a better outcome for you! Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
I need an iv hooked up from Jay to me and get some of his DNA, Blood etc So its right back to the mind - body concept which is growing in so many areas of health No your mind cant cure afib or broken bones or cancer but! It can absolutely expedite healing and Better outcomes. For anyone interested : Nicole Sachs podcasts and YouTube, Dan at Pain Free You on youtube Dr John Sarno books. More hogwash. Do you really think Dr Natale s accident rate is 6.3 and 3.9 for Watchman?? Lol. Seriously Look : we re all in a type of checkmate. We have to make a move. Every move has some risk and thats it No one forces us to do anything. The internet is a Godsend its also a poisonby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just think: you me and Jay all in Austin within the same few days! And i trust we ll all have a positive outcome. We ll all at a minimum be better!by Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ive decided that since my Watchman is scheduled 2/16 in Austin im going skydiving this afternoon I think that ea of those risks are identical to pre ablationby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb congrats! And all the best in your healing. Which you will! Question: where will you have the 45 day TEE? And if its not Natale then who calls the shots thereafter? I ask as im on the same path 2/16 in Austin but if all goes well would prefer my 45 day TEE here in Charlotte by my EP Dr Holshouser who assures me he’s adept at it Tomby Poppino - AFIBBERS FORUM
