Should I wait to see if a copy of the chart note will do or Call Natales office asap?by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm booked for May 16th for Dr. Natale Ablation. My insurance is now asking for documentation that I'm having symptomatic paroxsmyal or persistent AFibb. Is this the norm for pre-authorzation or are they trying not to approve the pre-auth? Sent in last Drs. Visit chart notes from October. Cliff notes of Chart nots explain breakthrough persistent afibb episode while on medication (flby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
If you haven't finalized your lodging. My wife booked a Airbnb 2 bedroom condo for 6 nights at $120 a night walking distance to St David's. Something maybe to look into, help make your stay more comfortable. Condo looks really nice pool, secured entry etc.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was scheduled this week for May 16th. I was offered March 6th as well. You may want to check back asap to see if that date is still available. That was last Monday the 11th when I booked.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
BMI always confused me. I'm 6'4 male 215lbs 95% of time I eat lean meats and fruits and veggies. Pretty damn active as my hobby is my mini farm. BMI table says I'm over weight. If I got down to the 200lbs they suggest, geez I think I may blow away in the wind.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for all the updates it's a real look inside the recovery process. I'm in line for procedure from Dr Natale. Waiting to hear back from his scheduler Amy hoping any day now.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotemwcf wolfpack, PEF ablation looks very promising indeed but remains several years off yet for the likes of us. Take a look at: Also see (Prof Jais who did my ablation at Bordeaux last year is heavily involved with this new technique and is very excited about it. He has confirmed to me that PEF ablation can be undertaken on folks who've already had RF ablations.) How far out untiby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Private message issues. Sent message box shows no messages sent, is that normal? Sent a few PM with no response. Probably no issue, just not interesting enough for a responseby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for all the great support and guidance. Shannon in will take you up on PMing you to discuss the ablation thank you so much!!!by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just got off the phone with norma Dr. Natale nurse for consult and ablat in one trip. She very nice and candid reminded me that this isnt a cure which deflated me a bit. She did assure me that I'm in good if not best hands for this job. I'm sending all paper work needed, looks like summer will be when I get it the ablation.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Only hurdle left is to get regence to approve the procedure. Dr. Natale and St David's are in my network so not sure why they wouldn't. Anyone know how the insurance company's look at RFA procedures?by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wife and kids want to come with me and make it a positive experience maybe go down few days early and take in the city. Thinking that might help keep me positive and ease the nerves.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm would be coming from Seattle area would you guys recommend bringing someone with me for the procedure?by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the support and encouragement. I have a phone call scheduled with one of Dr. Natale nurses to get more details on scheduling etc today at 1pm.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dr. Natale reviewed my records and has recommended that I go ahead with the ablation. So I assume it's a no brainer and get on his schedule. Would there be any reason I'm missing not to take this opportunity?? 38 yr old Male afibb last 8+ years on flec/met last 7yrs. 4 or 5 12-60 hr afibb episodes last 7yrs and about 10-20 very short episodes while on flec/met. How far out is he booking for the procedure? Thanks!by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dr. Natale officially has my medical records and will offer his opinion on wait or ablat. I was told around the 17th of this month I should hear back. Anticipation is going to do me in. Feel very grateful that he's taking the time to review my case.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
How does the scheduling process work? Do thiey assign a firm date for surgery? Has communication been good in pre surgery instructions? Good luck and can't wait to hear about how it went!! Please do let us know where you end up staying I'm probably not far behind youby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN Last long afibb episode 66hr was after bad flu vomiting and diarrhea for 12hrs. Other long episodes after over indulging on alcohol. Afibb begets afibb?? Gets worse? The flu & vomiting could cause an electrolyte imbalance leading to afib. Afib begets afib. There are both physical and electrical remodeling that occurs during afib. This remodeling makes it easierby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteGeorgeN Last 5+ years on flec/met I have had 23hr episode, 12 hr episode, 66 hrs episode along with 12-15 very short afib episodes all spread out over the last 5+. Convert on my own everytime. Recently started supplementing taurine, mag and potassium feel great. I'd ask my doc if I could increase my flec, on demand, to convert any episode that doesn't convert on its ownby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM

When the operator is in your heart can he/she tell if triggers are beyond PVs?by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey What determines where in the atrium the ablation will take place? How is it determined to isolate only pulmonary veins? It takes place where the pulmonary veins enter the left atrium, which is on the roof of the atrium. The balloon freezes a circle around the PVs thereby creating lesions that turn into scars and electrically isolating them. The pulmonary veins have been fouby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Cryo is always done with a balloon. It's more of a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all procedure that's much less dependent on operator skill than RF ablation. It isolates only the pulmonary veins, so if that's the sole source of your afib, it can be very successful. If you have sources outside the PVs, it won't be successful. What determines where in the atrium thby Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM

Alot of EP I look into in my region are predominantly CBA operators. It's been highly recommended that I do not want CBA.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm on Dr Natale radar waiting for him to review my records with a recommendation wether the ablat now or wait. Only thing that worries me is Dr. Natale is 58 and imagine well deserved retirement is within the next 10yrs. At least list of high volume RFA operators would be great.by Kleinkp - AFIBBERS FORUM
